Ilios Noche -(Quail Corners Shopping Center) Ratings and Reviews
We loved the Zucchini and Eggplant chip appetizer! There was so much food in this appetizer that I believe we would just have a small salad to follow in the future. The Scallops and Risotto dish was terrific as well as the Chicken Soulvaki. The service was quick and attentive and the seating was very comfortable.
I've eaten there before and I loved it but this time it was too noisy, too crowded and the food was mediocre. Very surprising to me. I sat on a seat with somebody's baby car seat next to me. I could hardly get into my seat. We could hardly hear each other over the noise. And we both left most of our food on our plates. We're not sure we'll try it again.
Excellent place. The food is always great. I cannot eat onions and it is normally not a problem for them to make most meals without onions. We usually eat in the bar area, but service is great in the bar area and in the dining room. Recently, our table of eight had four people that had never been there before and they loved it. They were happy to try a new place and enjoy the food. We had three teenagers, one ten year old and the rest adults and everyone picked something different and everyone enjoyed their food.
Very surprised that Ilios Noche changed their practice of no corkage fee on first bottle of wine! Now it is $18. With so many good restaurants in Charlotte, their no corkage fee differentiated them from the pack. No more. So, we will now consider the others more.
Made a reservation and they sat us at a table right next to the kitchens and it was unbearably hot. I have been going to this restaurant for years and this was the worst experience I have had. The server was beyond oblivious we were there for a birthday (it was mentioned multiple times and there were presents). The food was amazing as always. I will refuse to sit by the kitchens ever again though. It is worth your wait for a round table to open up.
All our dishes were extremely greasy, just soaked in Olive Oil, or so they claim, but we doubted the quality of that too, and it may even be Canola Oil, yikes! The Branzino was good but just unnecessarily drenched in grease. The zucchini chips are not oven baked, like we make them, but have a greasy batter, that left us all with heartburn and we were forced to take Alka Seltzer, which we never have to if we eat "healthy"! Had to keep asking for bread, even though the server had mentioned several times that the bread would be coming. Desert tasted as if it has been kept in the fridge, without cover, for too long.
I came here once for dinner and it was really good. I liked it so much I recommended it to my girlfriends and we came back for lunch on Aug 25th at 1pm. I was disappointed to say the least. Service was very slow despite the fact that there were maybe 5 other tables occupied in the whole restaurant. It took 10 minutes for our server to come greet us and 15 minutes for our drinks to come back from the bar. We got the "express menu" with the chicken and broccolini, though it took forever to arrive. When it finally arrived, it was like warm and mediocre tasting at best. I also had to remind my server of an additional drink that I had ordered and still hadn't received.
Was not as good as normal. Very busy due to PGA Tournament and our seating location made it very hard to hold a conversation. Food for the first time is was just ok, normally it's excellent. Chicken marsala was not chicken marsala it was more of a pasta bowl with chicken and mushrooms, not the traditional type. Food was not served hot either, although we were at a table of 6, which can be tough to service.
Our entrees were superb. Our waitstaff was so attentive as to be mildly irritating. The live music was too loud. A manager/owner stopped by as he thought we might not have liked or dessert. Not the case at all. It was delicious but we were full! He offered to package it to go. Really glad he did.it was a great midnight snack!
We will definitely go back as the food was worth the visit and there is much more on the menu that I'd like to try.
I love Ilios Noche and have been a fan frequenting the Providence Rd location. Unaware of the Quail Corner location I made the reservation for brunch. Let's just say... sorry Providence Rd. but this is going to be my new Ilios Noche spot! Sergio and his team were amazing. I will be requesting Andrea each time I go!
If you've never tried grilled octopus, then you must order it, here. I had no idea what to expect. It taste like steak. Absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the farm Greek salad and added shrimp. For the price tag for the shrimp, I should've received at least one or two more pieces. Four is too few for 7+ dollars. Also I've ordered this salad, before, and it was dressed beautifully with just the right amount of herbs and acid and oil – this time it was very bland and I could barely taste anything. It was literally just chopped vegetables with no herbs, nothing on it. I don't like anything heavily dressed but it should be flavorful; I should've asked for some dressing on the side but I just ate it as-is. Although I received just a few pieces of shrimp, they were perfectly prepared which saved the salad. And, all the vegetables were fresh. My husband ordered a fish dish which was perfectly prepared and delicious and all of his sides both a salad and a phenomenal brussels sprouts dish were perfection. The baklava sunday dessert was outstanding. We've never tasted anything like it. One of the best desserts we've ever eaten. The fabulous colorful and flavorful dried fruit that is mixed in with baklava and fresh cream etc. is something everyone must try. Last but not least, our server was terrific. What a pleasure to have around - attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable of the menu.
