Tell Me – it’s what “ilili” means. For our guests, Tell Me means listening to and understanding each of their stories and creating new ones with them – ones of celebration and sharing, of long traditions and new beginnings.
Every dish at ilili has its own story from the traditional recipes direct from Lebanon, to the modern updates that tell the history of our team, of our cooks and chefs who have left their mark on our kitchen, and our serving staff and managers who have been ambassadors of hospitality. Our menu is never done – we find inspiration all around, in new ingredients, new approaches, and fresh takes on old standards.
ilili is a place where creativity abounds from the kitchen to the dining table where each guest becomes an artist, creating his own palette of flavors with our dishes as the canvas and good friends as the audience.

ilili Ratings and Reviews
When we entered the restaurant, the bar scene was hopping, lively and noisy. We were 2 couples and were led upstairs to a lovely quiet space that would be perfect for a romantic date or just friends who want to talk. We ordered a ton of appetizers, which were delicious, and made that our meal, with a good bottle of wine. The service was also very good. We all loved it!
Great place with a sophisticated vibe and high-end creative middle eastern food. There are two rooms, one is larger with a high ceiling, the other where we sat for an early dinner was smaller and more intimate. The Lamb Makloubeh is an incredible dish. The rich and savory lamb shank is paired with a large ramekin of cucumber and yogurt that you add to main dish and which imparts a cool refreshing and complementary counterpoint. The kebabs and grilled octopus where also top notch. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant and the Cabernet based Lebenese wine he suggested was excellent and good value ($80) by NYC restaurant standards. They do make you wait briefly in a lounge area where you walk in, even when your table is ready and it’s early and quiet?
A group of 8 of us came for the first seating on NYE. The ambiance and hostesses were great, but the rest of the evening was pretty mediocre from there. The pre-fixe menu provided for 2 mezzes, a main dish, and a plate of desserts. The mezzes were average for such a nice and highly-rated place and our main course were TINY. Everyone finished within 5 minutes, was still hungry, and wanted to get pizza after. The dessert samplers were tiny and not appetizing. Even though we all still had room, most of them remained uneaten.
We all got cocktails and additionally had 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne. Bottles were overpriced, but expected. Overall value for the evening was terrible.
Lastly, our waiter was just pushy and condescending. We had a good night regardless, but I eat out a lot and really care about getting good value from meal experiences. This was one of the worst I've had.
ilili was a lot of fun, it’s a place that exudes happiness - the ambiance, staff and indeed the food. This was a family get together. The staff were courteous and prompt as I had advised that our aunt can’t wait too wait to be seated. We were welcomed right off the door with immediate help with coats and bags even before we met the host.
The food was phenomenal, especially small plates (Meza). In fact, we’d recommend just ordering a lot of small plates and enjoy them by sharing while in the company of good friends or family. Main entrees are good but in our opinion they pale in comparison to Meza menu. Each of the Meza we ordered stood its own ground in taste, preparation, freshness of ingredients and indeed presentation. The serving size is rather small, it should be noted.
We tried Brussels sprouts, feta, beef/lamb dumplings, hummus and the egg plant Meza. We, the party of six, each enjoyed every one of it. One person who dislikes Brussels sprouts had several servings of the them - need we say more.
We ordered Kibbe, Salmon, Trout, chicken and gnocchi for mains. They all were fine but as indicated before nothing to write home about. When we return, which we will, we’d order a whole lot of Meza and just share. Small plates were just phenomenal. ilili is strongly recommended.
This restaurant is absolutely terrific. The food was outstanding. We had a mix of appetizers--all of which were delicious. There were four of us and, in addition to the four appetizers, we had the mixed grill, scallops, and rice. Perfect amount of food and the mixed grill, in particular, was outstanding in terms of variety and quality of meat/preparation. The wine list is overpriced; however, our server steered us to a GREAT red and the four of us happily drank two bottles. Indeed, Isaac, our server, was absolutely dedicated to making sure that we had a good time. He assisted in both our food and wine selection--and was spot on re both. Surely, any of the reviewers of this restaurant who complained about the service, did not have Isaac or the fellow waiter who assisted him and whose name I didn't catch. We will definitely return--and soon.
ilili has been on my list of restaurants to visit for a while now. We finally went with a group of 5 this past week and I was thoroughly surprised by how much I liked the restaurant. The decor and high ceilings gave the restaurant a great ambiance. I ordered the Fresh Meadows drink, it was refreshing and delicious. The food was also great, every dish we ordered was pretty solid. You must try the Phoenician Fries! I would definitely come back to try other dishes on their extensive menu.
Took forever to get seated and served even with a reservation. Granted there was a 100 person party going on at the same time but that is no excuse for a 15 minute wait before a waiter brought us water and took our order (we actually had to ask someone to get our waiter).
