Took a large group here for a client dinner. It was a great dinner with good service and top knotch food. It was also very nice that all of the tables were round, which allowed us to converse as a group rather than only being able to speak to those who were next to us.
My expectations were much higher for this restaurant. The food quality was good but did not match the high end price that we pay for it. Also, no creativity in the menu as it mainly consisted of traditional Mediterranean items. I was curious to try this restaurant hoping to be blown out but it turned out a normal Mediterranean cuisine at triple the normal price.
Came across this place whilst trying to find somewhere on tripadvisor on our holiday to New York. Made a reservation on opentable for 30mins time and arrived 15mins early when we were seated straight away. Service was great and food was delicious altho slightly more expensive than I was expecting for the $$-$$$ guidance. It had a buzzy atmosphere and was quite noisy but as there were only 2 of us and we were near the edge it was fine. We ordered the falafel, houmous, duck & chicken shawarma, dandelion & caramelised onion greens & riz which were all delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Great place, went on a recommendation and will recommend to others. Try and sit downstairs... upstairs is stuffy, tight and not as nice of an ambiance as when you walk into the property on the main level.
Delicious food. So many interesting flavours. Great to go with a mezze type of meal so you can share several different appetizers/ plates.
Incredible food. By far one of the best Lebanese restaurants in the US. Great service.
Preparación y sabor de la comida excepcional.
We've eaten here before and it has always been good, but on this occasion, it was excellent.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food is amazing. I will go there again when in NY
We celebrated Thanksgiving at Ilili Thursday night. We were welcomed and treated graciously. We ordered appetizers which were amazing. We oooohed and awwwed as we shared with one another. Our dinner was served and we were stuffed already! Then our waiter left and didn't return. We waited and waited and waited for dishes to be cleared, coffee offered and dessert brought out. The other waiter upstairs spent a lot of time with the female patrons while we sat and waited. I finally flagged down a server and asked if maybe he could find out where our dessert was, clear the table and offer coffee. I did leave the table to use the bathroom and saw him folding tablecloths. We were not sure what happened but it was quite an odd experience. The food was great and we had a very nice time but a waiter going to fold laundry while you wait on service is not quite right. We're not sure we would return.
They were very great to a large group on Thanksgiving. All enjoyed the food and those who had the turkey enjoyed it. Staff couldn't have been more accomadating to our needs. Made for a very special day.

Went here for the first time, with a friend, for Thanksgiving dinner, and luckily, managed to get seated upstairs, where the noise level allowed some conversation. The setting/decor was certainly nothing to write home about, and the food, beyond terribly disappointing, considering the prices and what some of the reviews indicated. But, all that said, the service was quite good, so compliments to their staff, and that is the only honest compliment I can offer.
Between us, we ordered 4 starters: a cold eggplant moussaka, which was mediocre, and 3 warm appetizers that were one worse than the other: the chickpea falafel, inedible as far as I was concerned, the baked sweet potato mash, much too sweet, and a horrible brussel sprout concoction with grapes and other sweets that made it certainly one of the worst appetizers I have ever eaten. I ordered the salmon for my entree, which was OK, and certainly the best thing I had among their offerings; my friend had the scallops which she said were "rubbery", and for dessert, we chose the "candy bar", again far too sweet, and the pumpkin tart which was awful...and a far cry from any pumpkin type pie/dessert I have ever had.
The price tag, well over $100 each, and the rather unsophisticated clientele, made me wonder what's going on these days when a restaurant like this, (crowded, noisy, no tablecloths-main-dining room), can command these prices and offer such horrible food. And let me add, that I have traveled widely and eaten in many, wonderful middle eastern/mediterranean style restaurants all my life, since I really enjoy that kind of cuisine, and Ilili, would surely rate at the bottom of my list.
I have always thought that the food and service were the way to judge and rate a restaurant but in this and other similar cases, it seems that this generation of restaurant-goers wants to be there because of the "vibe", the "design/look of the place", and because of the crowd. Really?
A great place to eat in New York. Near the flat iron district this place serves fabulous Lebanese food. The staff are super helpful if you have questions about the menu and they also have a decent wine list. The ambience of this restaurant is lovely and the quality of good great, we would highly recommend
Everything we ordered was fantastic. Got the dandelion root, falafel, salad and yogurt. Presentation with the plates are beautiful. And our service was so friendly and professional. Great is you want more vegetable options. Only issue was that it was a little cold inside, but besides that, delicious!
This place is so filled with snobbery that it doesn’t deserve. Our waiter was completely arrogant and spoiled the experience. The food used the be great and now is marginal. You can do a lot better.
Outstanding experienced!Menu choices and preparations/ presentation excellent. Service attentive and contributed to a wonderful experience as we entertained our international friends! A must!!!!
Outstanding! Best meal we had in NY. Very attentive staff, quick service, amazing drinks.
As our party was mostly of Lebanese descent, we were happy to have the opportunity to try quite a few familiar appetizers and entrees. The food was delicious and our waitress was incredibly helpful and informative.
Delish lamb burger. Roasted cauliflower could use a bit more roasting. Veal bacon what a treat!!!
Food was incredible, every item we ordered was perfect. The hummus, brussel sprouts, shawarma just beyond expectations. Pricing is normal for the city, service can use improvement. Servers rarely checked on our table, we needed to ask for assistance several times for water, more drinks, etc. I’d come back and hope for a server who is attentive.
Food is always amazing here! Despite being super late they sat our group within 10 minutes.
At first we were taken to a small dining area upstairs at the back of the restaurant but I asked to sit elsewhere and to be fair we were seated in a nicer area. I don’t think the girl that took us to the table was to happy though. The food was good as was the service, the wrong bottle of wine was brought to the table but I noticed and the correct bottle duly arrived.
Great service, but average cuisine. Surprisingly there was a lot of children who were very loud. I suppose it was more casual than we expected but so over priced!
Great food, great setting.. way way too loud though, if you’re planning to also have lots of conversation!
Everything was so good , this place has just became one of my favorite spots in the city !! As a Jordanian, I loved every single plate , everything was made very right and was so delicious, I missed home more today , I tasted the real food.. also she loved it !!! She wanted to try our food for the first time ,and I’m glad I brought her here !! Thank you so much , really really good job. ❣️
food is so amazing . Really sincere service.
We had great service and it has a beautiful atmosphere. Well trained and friendly staff. Very authentic food.
Great experience - original (for me) food, terrific service. Waiter guided through the meal from a spectacular Arak pour to menu items. If in NYC, don't miss it!
Excellent service, fantastic cuisine!
Probably the best lebanese food in America. Great staff. Great ambiance. Upstairs is quieter for conversation.
Great place! Loved the ambiance and food.
Lovely meal and a great brunch option that’s a bit different from the usual fare. Amazing vegan and vegetarian options, super accommodating staff.
Fabulous food and great service. I booked this for a 70th birthday and a lot of the women were dubious about Lebanese food. No need for concern......they loved it. We had a very special and wonderful evening.
Great value brunch! Spacious and perfect for group outing. Food was delicious and service was great as well.
First class in every way. I really like the quiet atmosphere with no loud music. The food is so good. Highest quality and delicious.
Food was great and service was good. However, they were running very late. We weren’t seated until 30 minutes after our reservation time, which was very unprofessional. They made no acknowledgement of their mistake. We didn’t ask for any food or drink to be comped (which it wasn’t) however, it would have been nice to at least receive cocktail service while waiting for a half hour in their lounge. Apart from the poor start we quite enjoyed the food and found the restaurant to have good ambiance.
Food just ok. Not good value. Super loud - difficult to have conversation.
Everything was perfect. Waitress was very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Food was amazing. Highly recommend.
Delicious kippi naye and baba ganoush,
