Was there for the brunch Prix fixe, got the lamb burger, it was off the hook! I could eat two in a row! My only complaint was that I had my dish boxed up and they didn't put everything on my plate into the container which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I didn't ask for my food to be thrown out, why wouldn't you pack all of it?
Went to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Portions are big, enjoyed mezzes more than entrees (mezzes are the highlight of menu).
Great meal and drinks
Great food! Best hummus in NY!
Perfect birthday lunch.
Such a lovely experience every time we come. This has become our go to place for special occasion. The food is fantastic with plenty of vegetarian options, service is excellent and the place is large. Muhammara is the best ever. Fresh pita, Brussels sprouts go die for, interesting take on falafel, smoky baba ghanoush. Thank you everyone for making it a great experience. The big surprise was the amazing baklava on the house to celebrate our anniversary. Be back soon. No pics today, was caught up enjoying the food.
Meal was delicious! Everything was very, very good. Wish they stipulated on the Open Table reservation that it was a fixed price menu for Valentine's Day. I also had a weird experience where, at the end of the night a waitress handed me one of the center pieces on the table, roses in a glass, and told my wife and I we could take it home. I figured sure I'll give it to my mom because she was watching our kids so we could have a date night. As I'm leaving, I got stopped by a hostess who was doing her best to stay calm, in utter disbelief someone would steal a table setting. I explained that a waitress said we could keep it and handed it to us, but it was clear she wasn't buying it. I just peaced out before it became a Larry David esque scenario where I wanted to call the waitress out there and say hey, explain to her I'm not a thief but that would've just made the whole situation really, really weird. Still going back there despite the embarrassment because the food was phenomenal.
Ore fix menus are always a bad idea... the food was mediocre
Did the Valentine's prix trix. I unfortunately had a reservation at 6:45 while an 8pm Broadway show. Poor planning on my end for a Friday evening. So I showed up earlier and explained the situation to the host who was very understanding and made accommodations 15 mins earlier than the expected time. The entire meal was well put together, portion size was just enough to fill me up. The dessert was the weakest link. While the chocolate/raspberry pastry was good, would have been better if they had gone a more traditional Lebanese route and got creative. Think Ashtha or kineffe etc. Overall would recommend the fare to anyone looking for an upscale dining experience.
Was here for their Valentine’s Day Pre- fix menu. The service was exceptional from the hostess stand to our waitress and other wait staff. The food was delicious, we were able to try their kebab, hummus/pita bread, Brussels sprouts, and falafel. Our entrees were the lobster and duck breast. We enjoyed every bite of our meal and fully enjoyed dining here, would definitely dine again and recommend.
One of the best dining experiences. Food was amazing.
I found it obnoxious that the maitre d' sat us in a nondescript room with no ambiance when the restaurant was hopping and had a lot of energy.
food had gone down in quality A LOT ! noise level makes it difficult to have a conversation and service is loud as well, and quite slow.
The food was great, especially the lentil soap.
Service was extremely poor
Our food was delicious. We shared a Mixed Grill platter as a main course for our table of 4, and had 7 other mezzas to start. ( so hard to decide from the delicious list of mezzas- could have ordered one of each!). Our waitress was very knowledgeable about Lebanese wines which were a wonderful accompaniment to the food.
It was some of the best Lebanese food and wine I have ever had, and I am Lebanese. The service is impeccable, and the space is just lovely. I will definitely be back.
Food quality is not what it used to be. Very disappointed
We were visiting from Philly and they were out of shawerma by 10:30? Very disappointed!
Great food and service! Will definitely return and recommend to a friend
Beautiful place to eat Lebanese food! The food tasted amazing. The decor, lighting even the bathroom was inviting.
I just loved everything about Ilili - I truly felt welcomed and taken care of - from the bar and lounge to wait for your party to arrive and have lovely drinks to dining area, food and amazing service. We shared a whole chicken with rice, had babaganoush and falafel and ended our evening with hot chocolate and molten chocolate cake. My water glass was always full and my drinks were right on time - Salt & Smokey is a winner! Thank you team Ilili for making our evening truly special!
I enjoyed the food and especially the drinks! Get the Brussels sprouts. The hummus was great, falafel not so much.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Must have the lamb mouklube and the kinefe
Excellent customer service and delicious food. We had the pre fixe for restaurant week and we’re celebrating our engagement and our sever Chris was a gentleman and made the evening extremely special. Hats off to the crew at Ilili they strive to make a wholly unique experience in both flavors and service. We will certainly be back
Went here for restaurant week. The restaurant looked incredible at first, and my wife and I were incredibly excited after seeing the interior. However, we were guided through, stairs and hallways - as though we were in the Grand Bazaar - to a small, dark room in the back. We were squeezed into 2 seats by a nice, wobbling table to enjoy the meals ahead.
We had the 2 apps + 1 main + 1 desert fixed menu. At the end of our meal, we could not give the food was nothing more than mediocre. The appetizers were nothing special, the mains satisfactory and the desert (we both chose the Knefe) May have been microwaved. Come to think of it, the Knefe was more like cheese sticks then dessert.
Not sure how this place got such good reviews but do yourself a favor and spend your $100 elsewhere.
we did the restaurant week lunch.. the service was terrible.. they all seemed overwhelmed.. the salad was full of Pita chips and not slot of salad.. the chicken wrap was dry, no dressing it sauce and when we asked for some they brought it when we were half done.. we complained to a flor manager and they offered us desert but we didn’t have time and honestly couldn’t believe they didn’t comp at lest one if the terrible wraps
Food was AMAZING and big portions. The waiter Ricardo explained thoroughly all we asked about. But we had to wait 20 min to have our table. We enjoyed a cocktail in the meantime which was good, but the juice was not made in the moment, the poured it from a plastic container.
We visited the restaurant during the restaurant week for a dinner. Our seat was upstairs(which has no ambience at all, it was more like a garret). The “Hot Mezza” was not hot at all, it was pretty much cold. And it seemed like the primos were already made before we order and they just serve them as we order. Secondi, we had a lamb chop and the chicken. Lamb chop was $10 supplement menu, yet it turned out it was just okay menu(not so great). Chicken was.. I could do much better than that. Do not want to discuss about the dessert at all, as it was so below my expectation. Nothing was so special. Maybe I was expecting too much but this restaurant is worthless to visit. Overall, C- for this restaurant.
Went to lunch during Restaurant Week and had a good experience. I think the food was decent. If I could rate it I would say a 7/10. I wish I knew that the Mousaka appetizer was cold (instead of hot how it is traditionally served), and that the burger came with more than a salad. But I guess for the special that's what you get. The music selection wasn't the best during lunch but it's not a big deal, and I'm just trying to give others a sense of what to expect for a lunch time visit. Otherwise I was happy to try it out, and think if you're open to trying a twist on Mediterranean dishes you should give a try!
The place has a lot of energy... sometimes a little too much. I think the music could be dialed back a bit, as it adds to the need to, at times, yell to be heard even at a small table. This is made up with the quality of the food which is outstanding! Very, very good authentic Lebanese food with a panache of some modern and western infusion. I keep coming back to this place every time I'm in the neighborhood!
The food is pretty good. The wait staff is very good at being accommodating to dietary restrictions which is great. They got a new pastry chef that makes sure there are desserts that people with dietary restrictions are able to eat. Overall all the food we tried was very good and worth checking out. A good mix of foods in the menu!
Best Lebanese food ever
Didn’t have my favorite hummus with shrimp. But brook trout was great. Much more crowded at lunch during restaurant week than usual.
We showed up at the reserved time but one of us was a few minutes behind so they made us wait at the bar. The last person showed up within three minutes but then we had to wait for our drinks. Rather than seating us and bringing the drinks, they want us to settle the bill first before they seat us. Most other places would be happy to bring us the drinks and combine the bills. After all we had a 6.30 reservation and if they get us through our meals quicker they can turn the tables again for the next guests. Service was slow overall but the food was excellent. The waiter never checked on us after the orders were placed but the wait staff kept our water glasses filled. The place was very noisy even though we were seated in the quietest part of the restaurant. It was not an enjoyable place to have a conversation so the long wait for the food made it more unpleasant. It might be a misguided NYC trend to make it as noisy as possible to make it seem like a happening place. I like the food but given the noise level and the slow service, I think it would be a while before I come back again.
We received a recommendation to try ilili and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I was disappointed with the food. in town for business and specifically chose Ilili because we had such an outstanding meal the last time i ate there. food was a bit rich (brussels) and overall not as memorable. service was excellent.
Very good value on the prix fix for restaurant week. We were able to each order 2 appetizers to share. I recommend the lamb for main course!
Ilili was wonderful as usual. The food was excellent and so was the service. They also have the best desserts!
Food wasn’t good.
