I rarely write reviews. Also work in the industry. Heard great things about this place. Food was outstanding and portions extremely generous.
Very picky about service. There seemed to be two servers, a bus boy, bartender and food runner for the entire restaurant. Team service works as long as you communicate. I do not want to be asked twice if I’d like a drink, nor be told the specials twice within a matter of minutes. If I am asked twice for a drink, it should be brought quickly and not have to ask a third time for it. Buffalo broccoli???? GET IT
Oil mix with warm bread and tiramisu were outstanding. I may be pickier than others. Def a great place and will be back!
Very welcomed when we walked in. Nicholas sat us and was our waiter. Told us about the specials with enthusiasm. First time there. My new favorite restaurant!!
The staff was great. I have never been there before but have brought some gift cards. One of my gift cards didn’t work - I’m sure they thought I was lying. But in a classy move they gave me a replacement card. Besides that the food was amazing. Cold seafood salad was one of the best I have ever had. I had an excellent swordfish special. Stuffed artichoke was perfect. My husband had a veal dish with vinegar peppers which was delicious and my mother in law had a special of Osso Bucco that we all tried and loved. Finished with a perfect Italian cheesecake. Definitely going back.
It was great.
We were told our reservation was canceled by us when we got there as reported by open table. We were seated anyway. Then received email hours later that the restaurant canceled our reservation.
Lovely meal. Portions are big so it’s good to share. Would definitely go back!
This restaurant makes you feel right at home. Very welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious and the prices are great for the amount of food you receive on your dish. Definitely a 11 out of 10!
We took advantage of Long Island Restaurant Week at this local restaurant and wasn't disappointed at all - an overall good dining experience!
Joseph was our waiter and was absolutely delightful. He was accommodating and so helpful- he truly made our experience enjoyable.
The food was delicious. We got the grilled calamari appetizer and it was so tender and perfectly seasoned.
Both entrees were a hit and we will definitely be back.
This is my favorite restaurant and always my 'go to' place to eat. The food is always expertly prepared. The daily specials are always a treat. Luigi, the owner, and his friendly staff always make you feel welcome.
Great food, people and a beautiful place to eat.
Great restaurant, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and food is above any I have had in the area. Definitely a place I will visit often. Highly recommend it!
Absolutely love il Vizio. The food was phenomenal, the service was outstanding. Friendly, extremely helpful and attentive staff. We went for girls night out birthday and no one was disappointed. Can’t wait to go again! You have to get the Buffalo Broccoli. Amazing!
Thank you to Luigi and his staff!
Did not like this restaurant .
Both my wife and I got sick.
Great service and delicious menu!! The shrimp Il Vizio was excellent and my friend said that the lasagna was the best she has ever eaten!!
Delicious fresh ingredients. Excellent service, friendly atmosphere. Beautiful, clean, classy restaurant. Very special!!!!
I enjoyed the restaurant , the food was outstanding. However, it must be the acoustics or something because it was annoyingly loud. They also need to improve white wine selection.
The food was exceptional and presentation was also very nice. My only concern is they are not too familiar with Celiac Disease and the gluten free lifestyle. My choices were very limited. I ordered rack of lamb, told waiter I had Celiac and it came out with a sauce that had wheat in it. Not acceptable! Other than the gluten free issue, we enjoyed our dinner.
We have been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened. We finally went on Wednesday evening to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was superb - The waiter was awesome, making everything so special for our event. The owner sent coffee and desert on the house. Dinner drinks, Peroni and Il Vizitini (Yummy) . We had the mozzarella francese which was different and extremely tasty. Il Vizio salad, a bit too much dressing but very fresh. Pasta alla Nona - had to take most of it home. Huge portion, the pasta was cooked to perfection. Lastly, the Veal Saltinboca - the veal was tender and overall very good. Would have liked a little more meat and less spinach though. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for making our anniversary a special occasion.
The food at Il Vizio is amazing! Everything that we had was delicious. The portions were very big. The homemade lasagne was one of the best I ever had. And the short ribs over tagliatelle pasta was exceptional. Even though we were full, and bringing home leftovers, we had to try some of the desserts. The Nutella creme brûlée was my favorite. We also had the fried ice cream, and rainbow cookie gelato, also amazing. We have been recommending Il Vizio to all our family and friends!
Very friendly atmosphere and accommodating. Was too cold. Was moved quickly to different location. Water glass dirty. Calamari frozen not fresh but Tastey. Entree was presented sloppy. No need to return
Always great food and very nice staff. Have been here several times and never disappointed.
We ate here several times. Always excellent, both appetizers and entrees.
Chef even made a special dish when requested on one occasion.
Have recommended this restaurant to many friends.
The service wasn't bad. We were the only ones in the entire restaurant which made it quite. But the waiter was slow on checking up and getting drinks, etc. But when he actually came over, it was very nice. I asked for the happy hour menu to and decided to get 2 wines off the menu, and an appitizer. At the end of the night, I got the check and saw that the happy hour specials weren't applied, even though it was in line with the time and day. My waiter came over and said it's only for the bar and walked away. It changed the price of the bill by about 15-20$, which isnt a huge deal if he warned me or it said it on the menu. If I asked for the menu, and he didn't care to tell me that caveat, and it was written on the menu, that'd be one thing. But there was no mention and no attempt to work with me. The food was great but I felt nickle & dimed and for that reason, I am not going back.
We have dined at Il Vizio several times and each time the food and service was excellent!
They serve individual dishes as well as family style. Each of our visits we found something delicious on the specials menu. Highly recommend!
The Place, staff ,drinks , and food is amazing! They go over the top to make sure you have a great time!
the place, food, owners, staff, setting, and drinks is excellent!
Il Vizio is a decent place. The food ranges from old classics to some rather creative spins on favorites. The food is the standout - no complaonts from anyone in my party. Calamari Vizio with peas and beans was a unique and tasty surprise. Service however is pretty rough if not poor. I think they are well intentioned but it is either feast or famine: either you are ignored for long stretches or they are interrupting to refold your napkin. It's definitely a local neighborhood scene, smallish and on the noisy side. Come for the food, for sure, but in the end I'm just not sure it overcomes the negatives, so I can only say it's average overall.
Delicious food, excellent service, fair pricing. We will definitely be back.
Have been here many times and it gets better each visit. Nothing I don't like about this place..
First time diners. Overall good experience and will return. Service could have better, food very good and fair value.
Started with a glass of house wine, came with glass less than half full! Also, price not on menu and was shocked to find it cost twelve dollars per glass. Will not order wine again at these prices.
Food is outstanding and service is excellent. Luigi goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and that everything is perfect. Highly recommend to even the toughest critics. Don't miss out.
We enjoyed spending our 30th anniversary in the newest restaurant in our neighborhood.
It was noisy, but, we enjoyed ourselves. The couple behind us took our picture. And our waiter, Jerry was great.
Luigi surprised us with dessert and coffee to celebrate our anniversary.
Can't wait to come back.
We went with 7 of us between a wake for a family member. The food was delicious the service was outstanding . I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special night out or just looking for a great meal.
Bread was stale, food was terrible and the service was even worse. The best thing about this place was the beer. I also let the manager know.
The food was delicious and the service was great. I had tried several times to get reservations for dinner but they were booked. Made reservations for lunch and there were only a few tables taken. It was a delightful lunch and I would definitely go back.
We were so excited to visit Luigi's new restaurant. He did a beautiful job of renovating this venue. The food remains superb.
Just the Italian food ever.
Great food, service and ambiance. Really liked the choice of individual or family style meals.
We made reservation for this restaurant approximately 3 weeks ago for Sunday February 19, 2017 at 6:30 pm. We were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. This place fills up quickly so reservations are strongly encouraged. Once we were seated I notice the decor, kind of nondescript, the walls were charcoal grey accented by black panels with some white trim. There are several large mirrors on the walls to give the impression that the dining area appears larger. The tablecloth at our table seem to be somewhat worn with noticeable holes. I also notice that some the wooden chairs appears somewhat worn as well with little dings & chip marks. The table settings lacked some type of centerpiece. Roberto our waiter ran through the specials rather quickly, also there was no bread basket put on our table but bread baskets were visible at other tables. We ordered the famiglia style stuffed mushrooms as appetizer, they were very delicious & would order them again. Our second course, was the famiglia style fresh mozzarella & tomato salad with a sweet thick balsamic dressing, excellent, to die for & highly recommended. Our main course was the following; the famiglia style Filetto Di Pomodoro served over linguine very delicious & the famiglia style Veal Sorrentino I asked our waiter Roberto if I could substitute the lemon sauce with marinara sauce not a problem. The veal sorrentino was tasty but the famiglia style portion not as large as expected for a party of three adults. Our table had a difficult getting drinks refilled & the bottle of wine that I ordered with the main course came kind of later after receiving of main course. The noise level was loud without music kind of difficult to hold a conversation at our table.
Food was GREAT! Service not so much, they forgot the butter for the hot bread basket when asked it took so long that by the time the butter came the bread was cold. Took awhile to get a glass of wine, also they served the pasta after the entrée which is unheard of, also ordered side vegetable's with meal that never came at least I was not charged for them. The restaurant needs some tweaks in service and perhaps more training for staff, but the food made up for it. Everything was fresh, hot, delicious, and came out in a timely manner, a bit mixed up but was still so good. Will come back again and recommend this place to my friends and family, the food was that good.
