Il Toscano - Douglaston Ratings and Reviews
Had to wait 20 minutes on a Sunday to be seated. Waiter asked if we would like a glass of wine,
I ordered red and said any dry red is fine. When the check came we were billed $32 for one glass of ordinary red. Thought that was outlandish especially for a neighborhood restaurant in Queens. Food was just okay.
Never disappoints! Outstanding waiters and service. The food is always excellent and Alex is always there to greet you with a warmth not typical anymore. You feel truly welcome and a wanted guest. The food speaks for itself and their signature dish is a must if you enjoy lobster. I always enjoy my nights at Il Toscano and you will too!
This is our family's special occasion restaurant. Birthdays, anniversaries, we take every opportunity to come and enjoy a great meal! The staff treats you like family.. and the lobster is amazing (so is everything else on the menu)! Love this place.. and we'll keep visiting for years to come!
We had the special salad which was probably the best salad I've ever had. Then shared Nonnas lasagna as the second course. All I can say is I wish she was my Nonna! Finished off with the lobster special out of shell. Delicious and no fighting with your food. Would have loved to try a dessert but after all that we didn't have any room! Service was great and love the atmosphere. A great way to celebrate our anniversary.
I have been to this restaraunt many times before. It is convenient since it's in the neighborhood. Food is always good although the menu is limited. It's is fine Italian food. service has never been great, however I was surprised at how poor it was today. We felt like we were putting them out by showing up. They never offered to give us another glass of wine we had to call them over to get one. The water glasses were never refilled even though two of our foursome were just drinking water. Finally we had to ask for the check three times even though the place was clearing ou Finally we stood up to leave and they got the check
I will not return
We arrived as the last of our party of six. The other four were seated upstairs The Maitre d noticed my husband had a cane and asked if he could go upstairs. When we said no he relocated our party immediately and was extremely gracious about it.
The food was as always amazing. We have been there many times but the other four were there for the first time. We all agreed it was a wonderful dining experience
From Florida, this is our 5th Dining adventure at Il Toscano! Wonderful once again. The delightful owner greeted us like family as we entered and our spacious dining table in the side dining room was most ably served by Mr. Miller. The Chef's specials were, as always, amazing!
Most HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Please acknowledge your guests when they arrive. Let them k ow you will seat them. Very rude to patrons if you don't say anything to them. I realize you were setting up after large party left. Offer a glass of wine etc. We waited nearly 20 mins before anyone even spoke to us. Food was generous and good.
We have eaten at Il toscano many times. This last time the food was exceptional. The burrata which was a special, imported from Italy, was one of the best we've had. The homemade pasta dishes are great. As usual, the napoleon dessert dish is a great end to a great meal.
