Wonderful staff and beautiful venue. The food was fantastic. Truffle pasta and Caprese! Yummy! Thanks to our fantastic server Nori and chefs? Ethan and Michael. We look forward to to returning soon.
Mother’s Day dinner we had early reservations and had the restaurant to our selves. The food was excellent and our server(s) were excellent as well. We will be back
Very enjoyable dinner seated outside. Food good, expensive, but recognize you are paying for the ambiance of being outside.
Great place for a little Italian food, a bottle of wine and outdoor seating on the waterfront.
Friendly staff. Food was good but not a big selection. Seated right away and a terrific view of the river.
Romantic, tasty, and beautiful dining experience.
If you have not eaten at Il Terrazzo yet, something is wrong with you! This place is amazing. The knowledge of the staff is incredible.
I've had lunch and dinner. Can't wait to go again!
My wife and I Had dinner there while visiting Portland. Very friendly owner and staff. Had two different pasta dishes. Both had fresh pasta and were very delicious. Had buratta as appetizer and it was very good. Great wine selection as well. Would definitely visit there again if in the area.
We were a little late to our reservation because we had a hard time finding the restaurant. I let our server know that we were late and now in a bit of a rush because we were hitting a show at Keller Auditorium after. She was great! She let us know it was only a 5 minute walk, but she would rush our order and give us the check right away so we could eat and run. I couldn't have asked for better service than that.
The food was amazing as well. I ordered the bolognese and my girlfriend ordered the ravioli, both were delicious. I think I liked the ravioli a little better, crisp bacon on pasta swimming in butter is hard to beat. The bolognese had a great flavor and while bacon doesn't belong on it, I wanted it.
I also had an old fashioned which was smooth and tasted great. It is worth going for the old fashioned alone.
Overall this is a great place to eat and drink. If you are heading to a show at Keller: park at the Crown Plaza ($6 as of 04/07/19) for the night, walk to Il Terrazzo (5 minutes if you head in right direction) to eat beforehand and you will not be disappointed.
Visited during Portland Dining Month for the first time. Our server was excellent and made this a wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent, would definitely dine there again!
This was our second visit. We brought friends this time. Our only issue was the service was a bit slow. The owner came out to chat, give us some history which was very nice and pointed out that the actual kitchen was quite small. I took this as a subtle explanation as to why the pace of dinner was slow (even for a dinner house) but I would not hesitate to return based on the quality of the food and the friendly people.
It was our first time here and everything was excellent. The food was great - ravioli, bistecca, and mushroom pasta - the service was very good, and the atmosphere was casual and fun.
Dining out menu was just "ok". Had 2 of the 3 starters. All felt that the starters were just average. One diner didn't eat her soup as she found it to be very sour. Different entrees were selected all found our entrees to be average at best. All meal portions were fine, but found the preparations to be "sour" . Service was just fine and attentive enough. Setting was/is very nice. Flavors were single note and not very nuanced. Probably just fine for a glass of wine and something light. Not our dinner favorite.
Portland Dining Month - the service was incredibly slow, but then I guess you don't come here to be quick in & out. Food was pretty good, but incredibly overpriced (think $25 for a pasta dish) on regular menu prices. Also - be warned after 5 pm the only parking is in a flat-rate $10 garage (it's on the waterfront on the marina so I guess I should've been prepared for that but wow). Dining month deal was barely worth it at $33/person - really $43, with parking. Overall an expensive, pretty good meal that I probably could've made at home. Won't be coming back unless they have a good happy hour deal in summer.
Server and owner were very personable, but food took a long time to come. My steak was not very high quality
The dinner was great! Emma was outstanding! Ambiance and view was excellent. I reserved lunch on 4/9. Want to see if the lunch is as good as dinner.
Little underwhelmed. I got the Bolognese and it had very little flavor. It's like it wasn't seasoned at all, I was expecting a lot of flavor from this type of sauce, definitely was not an all day kind of preparation since there was no flavor. My husbands pasta was very underseasoned as well. Pastas cooked nicely but just no flavor. Must have either caught them on an off night or something, but it being our first experience, makes it hard to want to give it another chance.
The food and alcohol was wonderful. We were there for the Portland Dining Month menu, which had a wonderful selection of amazing food. We plan to return in the summer to sit at one of the tables overlooking the river.
Authentic, unassuming Italian food. This place is tucked down on the waterfront with the sailboats in the Willamette as the background. Our server was great and our night made more special as the chef came out to talk to us about our meal! It is refreshing to find a Portland establishment that takes the time to make each diner feel special. Kudo's to you - we will be back soon.
Went here for Portland Dining Month as a party of 6. We like to choose new restaurants to experience for this annual "event". The food was very good and we appreciated there were 3 choices for each of the 3 courses so it would suit our varied tastes and give more "tasting opportunities" to share with our dining party. The owner/chef also delivered some of the entrees and spoke to the inspiration for one of the entrees. The noise level and setting were both very well suited to our party of 6 being able to carry on conversation. Loved the tomato confit & bread salad, great flavors with the white balsamic vinegar. Pasta was cooked perfectly and food that was supposed to be hot came out that way.
Parking can be somewhat of a problem in this area. We went on a Thursday night and parked in a lot that has a set maximum after 5pm ($6 or $7, I think), so that was good as we were there for about 2 1/2 hours enjoying each other's company and the wonderful meal experience.
Owner was initially short-handed but juggled roles of cook and server seamlessly. Food and service top notch.
I really enjoyed the ambiance, hospitality, and views of the marina and Mount Hood from the dining room. The food I ordered was meatballs with polenta, a charcuterie plate, and a tiramisu dessert with a glass of red wine. My meatballs and charcuterie were top notch. The dessert was not as good as I've had at other dining rooms. The staff is very accommodating and try to answer questions about the extensive wine menu. The dining room is cozy and has a panoramic view of the marina. I recommend this for romantic dates and small groups. A party of 8 was very comfortably seated nearby.
We went here because of Portland dining month, with friends, we went back the next day because the food was amazing, the just perfect, Diffinately worth every penny
Absolutely love II Terrazzo. This restaurant has a great ambiance, the service was great and the food wonderful. They were able to meet the needs of our Gluten Free friend. She was very pleased that she could eat pasta with us! It is a very relaxing atmosphere with a great view of the Willamette River. Will definitely go back.
We enjoyed I'll Terazzo for Portland Dining month with friends. The food was outstanding and we had a lovely view of the riverfront.
The appetizer salad is way to sour. The main dish is just normal. Only steak sauce is good. Worst thing is the waiting time. The restaurant is not busy but it still took them almost 50 mins to prepare our entree. The dining month set cost me $33 and the entree that i have is mainly tomatos and shrimps... i cant even taste the wine in there, very disappointing.
We tried Il Terrazzo with the Portland 3 courses for $33 special.
There were multiple choices in all 3 courses.
The food was outstanding, as was the service.
We will return.
LOVE the intimate setting and ability to hear each other speak!! Excellent food and service.
overpriced with poor menu options.
small portions, missing items from menu.
Amazing and friendly staff. The food was amazing, the selection in wines is fantastic as well. Beautiful view of the waterfront, great music. Love that they have live jazz.
Excellent Anniversary dinner!! Enjoyed it very much and highly recommend.
The dinner was absolutely outstanding. The Burrata was superb and is worth going back for alone. The Chicken Cacciatore was cooked to perfection and the polenta served with it was creamy and delicious. Michael the owner was very attentive and the manager Emma attended to our every need as guests. We finally found an outstanding Italian restaurant in Portland.
Wow! We had never heard of II Terrazo until we saw it as part of Portland Dining Month, so decided to try it. The staff was outstanding and very attentive. We had questions about the wine selection and Ashley knew the wines and answered all questions and even provided a taste of the wines. The dinner was fabulous. There were 5 of us and we each tried a different dish. Each one was amazing. We will definitely be going back, probably in the spring/summer so we can enjoy the outdoor dining area.
The waitress was friendly and seated us in a timely manner. We had reservations. There were a lot of choices. We picked two dishes and shared a Caesar salad. My chicken caciattorre was divine. The polenta it was served over was the best I have had outside of Europe. The Beef dish my husband had was supposed to be a stew. It was not soupy or like a stew but he loved it. The flavors in both dishes were complex and lovely. Our service was great. We will return and are already talking about when we can go again
We had a lovely evening and a great chat with the owner. We were by the window overlooking the river. Great wine selection!
Our first time eating here, it was more than I expected it to be. It was a great experience, food, staff, wine, and the Owner Michael was very personable and great to talk with about experiences with wine and Italy. Diffidently telling others.
There were four of us. We got:
- cheese ravioli: great flavor for the ravioli but soaked in way too much butter. Couldn’t eat much of it.
- short rib polenta: fabulous
- pasta Bolognese: not good
- scallops seafood dish: delicious
Staff is great as was the service. Owner was very friendly and appreciative of our business (at least I think he was the owner?). Cute location right along the river. Would definitely recommend it.
Had a wonderful window seat and a great server. Chicken and polenta was outstanding.
Owner came out and engaged with diners.
Will be back
Again, the best wine, service and food. Our drive of 100+ miles was well worth it.
Have had several nice experiences at this restaurant. Michael the owner is great! Highly recommend.
