Authentic, unassuming Italian food. This place is tucked down on the waterfront with the sailboats in the Willamette as the background. Our server was great and our night made more special as the chef came out to talk to us about our meal! It is refreshing to find a Portland establishment that takes the time to make each diner feel special. Kudo's to you - we will be back soon.
Went here for Portland Dining Month as a party of 6. We like to choose new restaurants to experience for this annual "event". The food was very good and we appreciated there were 3 choices for each of the 3 courses so it would suit our varied tastes and give more "tasting opportunities" to share with our dining party. The owner/chef also delivered some of the entrees and spoke to the inspiration for one of the entrees. The noise level and setting were both very well suited to our party of 6 being able to carry on conversation. Loved the tomato confit & bread salad, great flavors with the white balsamic vinegar. Pasta was cooked perfectly and food that was supposed to be hot came out that way.
Parking can be somewhat of a problem in this area. We went on a Thursday night and parked in a lot that has a set maximum after 5pm ($6 or $7, I think), so that was good as we were there for about 2 1/2 hours enjoying each other's company and the wonderful meal experience.
Owner was initially short-handed but juggled roles of cook and server seamlessly. Food and service top notch.
I really enjoyed the ambiance, hospitality, and views of the marina and Mount Hood from the dining room. The food I ordered was meatballs with polenta, a charcuterie plate, and a tiramisu dessert with a glass of red wine. My meatballs and charcuterie were top notch. The dessert was not as good as I've had at other dining rooms. The staff is very accommodating and try to answer questions about the extensive wine menu. The dining room is cozy and has a panoramic view of the marina. I recommend this for romantic dates and small groups. A party of 8 was very comfortably seated nearby.
We went here because of Portland dining month, with friends, we went back the next day because the food was amazing, the just perfect, Diffinately worth every penny
Absolutely love II Terrazzo. This restaurant has a great ambiance, the service was great and the food wonderful. They were able to meet the needs of our Gluten Free friend. She was very pleased that she could eat pasta with us! It is a very relaxing atmosphere with a great view of the Willamette River. Will definitely go back.
We enjoyed I'll Terazzo for Portland Dining month with friends. The food was outstanding and we had a lovely view of the riverfront.
The appetizer salad is way to sour. The main dish is just normal. Only steak sauce is good. Worst thing is the waiting time. The restaurant is not busy but it still took them almost 50 mins to prepare our entree. The dining month set cost me $33 and the entree that i have is mainly tomatos and shrimps... i cant even taste the wine in there, very disappointing.
We tried Il Terrazzo with the Portland 3 courses for $33 special.
There were multiple choices in all 3 courses.
The food was outstanding, as was the service.
We will return.
LOVE the intimate setting and ability to hear each other speak!! Excellent food and service.
overpriced with poor menu options.
small portions, missing items from menu.
Amazing and friendly staff. The food was amazing, the selection in wines is fantastic as well. Beautiful view of the waterfront, great music. Love that they have live jazz.
Excellent Anniversary dinner!! Enjoyed it very much and highly recommend.
The dinner was absolutely outstanding. The Burrata was superb and is worth going back for alone. The Chicken Cacciatore was cooked to perfection and the polenta served with it was creamy and delicious. Michael the owner was very attentive and the manager Emma attended to our every need as guests. We finally found an outstanding Italian restaurant in Portland.
Wow! We had never heard of II Terrazo until we saw it as part of Portland Dining Month, so decided to try it. The staff was outstanding and very attentive. We had questions about the wine selection and Ashley knew the wines and answered all questions and even provided a taste of the wines. The dinner was fabulous. There were 5 of us and we each tried a different dish. Each one was amazing. We will definitely be going back, probably in the spring/summer so we can enjoy the outdoor dining area.
The waitress was friendly and seated us in a timely manner. We had reservations. There were a lot of choices. We picked two dishes and shared a Caesar salad. My chicken caciattorre was divine. The polenta it was served over was the best I have had outside of Europe. The Beef dish my husband had was supposed to be a stew. It was not soupy or like a stew but he loved it. The flavors in both dishes were complex and lovely. Our service was great. We will return and are already talking about when we can go again
We had a lovely evening and a great chat with the owner. We were by the window overlooking the river. Great wine selection!
Our first time eating here, it was more than I expected it to be. It was a great experience, food, staff, wine, and the Owner Michael was very personable and great to talk with about experiences with wine and Italy. Diffidently telling others.
There were four of us. We got:
- cheese ravioli: great flavor for the ravioli but soaked in way too much butter. Couldn’t eat much of it.
- short rib polenta: fabulous
- pasta Bolognese: not good
- scallops seafood dish: delicious
Staff is great as was the service. Owner was very friendly and appreciative of our business (at least I think he was the owner?). Cute location right along the river. Would definitely recommend it.
Had a wonderful window seat and a great server. Chicken and polenta was outstanding.
Owner came out and engaged with diners.
Will be back
Again, the best wine, service and food. Our drive of 100+ miles was well worth it.
Have had several nice experiences at this restaurant. Michael the owner is great! Highly recommend.
We had the best experience ever at ll Terrazzo. The food and wine were great and so was the service. The owner spent time talking with us about his experience, travels and his reason for the choices of wine and food was amazing. The view of the river and area surrounding was great.
Food is good, somewhat overpriced for the quantity and quality. The service is courteous but cool. Attractive and clean restaurant with a lovely view. It was a little difficult to get to the restaurant because it's on the waterfront, so our driver dropped us off at a residential area on the opposite side of the restaurant and we couldn't get through. We had to walk a few blocks to get around and back, which isn't so bad except it was raining and dark outside! Nice enough place if you like bland.
Slow Friday night and our server was good. Unfortunately the reviews I read about the food did not hold up. I drained about 1/4 cup of oil from my ravioli and it still had plenty. My husbands birthday dinner was very bland as well. Honestly the worst Italian food I have had in Portland.
This was the best Italian meal I’ve ever had outside of northern Italy. I don’t live in Portland but wish I did because I’d frequent this spot! Had the amazing, beautiful bur
Great location and a quiet place to share a meal.
Based on the reviews we expected better food. We rate it in between bland to average. Once is enough here. There are better places in and around Portland for Italian food. My wife disliked the Lasagna, I felt my pasta noodle with meat sauce was just so-so. Sorry about this review but it just didn't do it for us.
The mushrooms, bread and salad were great but the pasta we ordered tasted strange
This is a gem, right along the waterfront. Terrific food, outshine list.
Loved old world approach. Charming wine-knowledable owner helped us pick a wonderful bottle of wine at a fair value. Pasta was perfectly delicious. Ambient spot to see and enjoy our great city. Really enjoyed the live jazz. Don’t go if you are in a hurry, as the servers are not. But if you can take your time you may be delighted. Though it is a more adult-oriented place they did an outstanding job of accommodating our son with a Burger off the bar menu quickly and carefully ensuring his special dietary needs were addressed. Lovely evening!
Food was good, but not noteworthy. Ambiance was more like a sports bar than a restaurant. Extremely expensive for the food quality.
This is a fun place to view the Christmas ships and the food is fresh and delicious. Only compliant is it took an hour to get our food. The waitress was warm and friendly.
Very efficient and friendly staff. Good food preparation and presentation.
Lovely dining experience with a great view.
Very nice local restaurant. I would give it 5 stars all across if only the service had not been so slow. The kitchen seemed to have a lot of trouble getting dishes out even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The food, when it came, was outstanding!
The restaurant gets better each time we visit. Superb food, fantastic wine list
Never disappoints! Great food, great wine, terrific service. I always grt a meal when I’m in Portland!
We had a fantastic and authentic meal. Thank you very much!
Food was great and all priced very reasonably. The only negative we had was the corkage fee for the special bottles of wine we brought in, $25 a bottle, yikes!
