Il Terrazzo

I constantly hear about Portland’s dining gems. Well, II Terrazzo is certainly one of them. The food was incredible and very authentic Italian. The wine list was very extensive with a nice mix of Italian wines as well as Oregon and Washington. Michael, the owner, is a wonderful person. He is very knowledgeable about Italy, it’s cuisine and wines. A very comfortable dining experience and we will certainly be going back.

This is a hidden gem! Everything was excellent from the minute we walked in until the end of a lovely night!

My friend and I had a PHENOMENAL meal at Il Terrazzo during Portland Dining Month. Our server was delightful and shared great knowledge with us about our food and wine, and the food was some of the best Italian I've had anywhere in Portland. We will be going back!

We went for Dining Month. The manzo al piemontese was particularly good. The wine pairing was very good, high quality, and a good value.

The service was excellent.

Some restaurants seem to phone it in during restaurant month. Il Terrazzo is definitely using it as an opportunity to attract new clientele.

We live nearby and will definitely return.

The owner is very friendly and makes sure to talk to all his customers who come into his restaurant. The food is authentic and incredibly tasty. We have enjoyed the attentive servers who wait on us, too. Amazing all the way around. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

The food is excellent and the wine selection is very nice. The ambiance is fine, but perhaps a little drafty. The music was nice too. Highly recommended.

Our party of six had excellent, attentive service. The food was delicious. Our server recommended the Ceaser salad to be shared for the table - delicious! Nice atmosphere with nice views of the waterfront. Definitely recommend!

The food and service are outstanding at Il Terrazzo! This was an accidental find on a rainy afternoon, but we came back two nights later just to introduce friends to this wonderful restaurant! Everything is handmade fresh daily and the place is run by family. They do an amazing job with everything and the service is top-notch! We will be back next trip to Portland!

Awesome food and wine experience !

Everything was wonderful! Delicious food, warm and attentive service, great wine list. We had one diner with special requests (medical dietary restrictions) and they were very accommodating. Highly recommended!

Great restaurant, quiet, food was great and the staff was very helpful. This was the first time dining here and we will definitely come again.

The side salad was wonderful. Their lasagne is nothing to write home about. It is a lovely setting and the staff was attentive.

The charcuterie plate was great but the bruschetta was fabulous. The Bolognese was the best I have had. The beef stew was just OK; the beef was a bit dry and the potatoes undercooked. The steak was great. The raviolis were exceptional. The chicken milanaise was not what the diner expected and was underseasoned a bit. The waitserver's wine recommendation was spot on. EAT HERE.

The food is always delicious and the wait staff knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. This is our neighborhood favorite AND it’s on the RiverPlace Esplanade with great river and marina views.

Christmas Eve dinner in the dining room was wonderful!!

Came down to have dinner and watch the Christmas Ships. Both didn’t disappoint!

Given the location and menu descriptions, I expected something much more special. The space is nice and the view not bad (albeit more of the Markham bridge than a prettier part of the river), and the service was excellent. But the food is underwhelming. Our dishes were tasty enough, but nothing special, and served with complete lack of presentation or decoration. Brown stew in a bowl, lacking a drizzle of cream, a sprinkle of herbs, or anything else to make it appealing. They could do better.

I love a restaurant where every dish coming out of the kitchen makes you look and say “I should have tried that”..:.and then yours’ arrives and you know you made the perfect choice. Great service, quiet enough to have a conversation and food that makes your tastebuds smile.

Service was awesome right from the start. Food was incredible. We all had pasta dishes. The owner of the restaurant was cooking and also made a wine recommendation that was spot on. No rush, great wine, fresh ingredients in the perfectly prepared dishes. Reminded me of many of the meals I’ve had in Italy. I can’t wait to go back. Beautiful view of the waterfront to top it off.

We were there on a night where they had a big private party. I don't feel like that interfered with our experience. The food was good and creative. The Burrata salad was well composed with a balance of salt and texture. The salmon was well sauced. The salads and the main course came out together served by the chef which was a little odd but they kept the food warm while we enjoyed our starters. The house made pasta was fabulous. They had an appreciation of what made a good vegetarian dish. Dessert was just okay as they were out of the few things we really wanted. We didn't have a dog with us but they were very accommodating to another couple who came with their adorable dog Jake. The view was nice and we got to see the bridge go up to let a tall ship through. It was a great location to people watch with lots of families out.

The menu was a little confusing since it indicated the dish but not the type of paste that was included. If we hadn’t asked we would have been surprised. Thought you could select your pasta. Probably could but we did go down this path. My pasta with a chicken breast protein was on the side, a deconstructed pasta dis which was un-expected. The others at the table had the pasta bolognese and they liked it

Good food and very good service

Could have been a local trattoria in Italy: very good food, wonderful wine, great service. A real gem!

Our server Justin was amazing and food was simply delicious.

Noni was our server and she made the mail far more enjoyable than just the food. We will definitely return on our next trip to Portland

We were attending an event at the Keller and this was the perfect spot for dinner. We just returned from Italy and this was very typical Italian fare. I felt like I was back in Italy.
We were able to sit outside, so it felt very European. The food and the service were both exceptional. The cocktail and wine list very nice. This will definitely be on our list for downtown dining!

Understaffed for lunch service. Took too long for the food to arrive. Food was very good, I believe all left happy with what they ordered.

Never disappoints!! The food was great as always as was service. There were six of us sitting outside for dinner. You do need to make a reservation. Limited menu but perfect in every way. Great wine selection.

The meal was wonderful, but corkage fee for wine was excessive
