The cozy restaurant transports you to the look and feel of a restaurant on the Amalfi Coast, complete with lemon trees adorning the courtyard.
With just 18 seats inside and 24 seats outdoors, it is important to note our table types, Standard tables are indoor tables in our petite dining room. Often our guests make friends with locals dining near them!
Outdoor tables are in our courtyard. The courtyard is a more quiet atmosphere compared to indoors and is great for romantic dates. Our outdoor tables are covered and have heaters/blankets, but jackets on colder nights are recommended.
Due to our cozy size, table types are not changeable once reservations are set.
Established in 2015, Il Tegamino is owned by Giuseppe Panzuto and his wife Colleen. Giuseppe was born and raised in Napoli, Italy and enjoys sharing his culture and cuisine with guests
Best of the best!
Food quality was excellent as usual. Great services and nice wine list. Thanks for the delightful dinner. Appreciate it!!!
Loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was very sweet and the owner or manager was very attentive. Unfortunately we wanted a nice leisurely night out. We ordered a glass of wine and appetizer. When we waited to order our entree, as we wanted to enjoy our drinks, we were approached by our waitress a few times and she eventuality asked us to order as they were booked that evening. Totally stopped all enjoyment of our evening. The manager or owner (not sure which he was), came over an apologed. Unfortunately the damage was done. We ordered and were out of there in a little over an hour. The food was OK, nothing great. We will not recommend or return.
Very sorry you felt rushed through dinner. I believe the waitress did not explain well. We never want to rush the experience. It was in an effort for good service to make sure your dinner would not be delayed that we wanted to communicate the need to take your order. Our restaurant is tiny as is our kitchen. With a large buyout coming, the kitchen would be very busy. We wanted to ensure that we had your order in advance so we could prepare, but had hoped to course out your meal. Apologies again.
We made a reservation the night before thinking the menu looked good on opentable. Our choices were 6:30 or 8:30pm. We chose the later one thinking to would give us more tome to enjoy Carmel. They made us agree to a $25/guest charge for canceling the reservation. We show up right at 8:30pm to an empty restaurant. Then they quickly take our drink order so everything seems to start right
They quickly come back and ask if we are ready to order. We ask for some time to enjoy our dinner and the waitress informs us the kitchen closes at 9pm. They were very pushy and simply wanted to go home. In and out in less than 45 min for a dinner date.
Won’t recommend to anyone
I am sorry to hear this.I've spoken to your server who is new. Our kitchen does not close at 9. Our guests need to be sat by 9 due to residential above. In any case, you should not have been rushed. Our guests really enjoy our service. I am sorry this was not your experience. If you decide to give us another try, please e-mail me Giuseppe@iltegamino.co m so I can take care of you.As for cancel policy, this is because no shows/late cancels are extremely hard on tiny restaurants like Il Tegamino.
Awesome food, service and ambiance. Our favorite restaurant in Carmel!
One of my favorite restaurants in Carmel. A hidden gem with delicious food, cozy atmosphere and great service.
The location is awesome. Great jewel of a place tucked behind other shops in a courtyard. Yummy food, awesome ambiance, cozy vibe. More approachable than some of the other higher end restaurants in Carmel.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Il Tegamino. Everything was delicious, from our warm bread with a fried zucchini topping and our shared beet salad to our individual entrees. The staff was friendly and accommodating (our yellow lab rested under our patio table). We would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning on our next Carmel visit.
Our first-time experience of Il Tegamino couldn't have been better. Everything from the intimately inviting atmosphere to the friendly and knowledgeable service to (of course!) the absolutely delicious food was first-rate. There are many reasons for us to return to the delights of Carmel, and dining at Il Tegamino is high on that list.
This place was perfect for our anniversary dinner. Service and food were both outstanding!
Consistently great, non-fussy Italian food. Very attentive staff, very intimate setting, and worth the work to get a reservation.
Amazing owner and staff. First class treatment from start to finish. Always love this place and the experience.
There were four of us and three of us enjoyed our meals. One did not. She ordered the eggplant dish and thought it would be slices of eggplant but was all chopped and very rich. Not really an entree
Service was superb
Menu is limited
Solid italian food. Large pasta portions. Good wine selection!
Absolutely amazing atmosphere and food! Will go back to Carmel just to eat here.
Terrific food, service and atmosphere. Loved it. Sat outside and it was perfectly romantic. Thanks
Decent meal and restaurant, but not the authentic Italian meal I was expecting from online research.
It was difficult to find, it was tucked away in a charming courtyard. The restaurant was very small intimate and cozy. Service and food was excellent with a great wine list. I would definitely go back and recommend it to my friends. Do go and try it.
Charming restaurant tucked away in a small nook! We dined on the quaint patio and enjoyed the ambiance of strung lights, climbing ivy and the glow of heating torches. Impeccable service! From the delicious bread and roasted zucchini, garlic and olive oil, the salads and entrees were delicious. Fresh pastas (lasagna, penne pasta, cheese tortellini with ham and peas) and sauces truly pleased us. We ordered a bottle of wine and were impressed with it. Dinner was complemented with an ice cream and espresso dessert! Our experience at Il Tegamino was 5 star ~ start to finish!
Hidden gem. Started in Palm Springs and drove up to San Francisco. This place had the best Italian food !
Service is exceptional. Most of food was good. Very surprised that the beef meatballs weren’t good, but meatballs are a very difficult pleaser. It was too much breadcrumbs not enough beef. Everything else we ordered was fantastic!
Amazing little find tucked away and quiet. Food and serve were fabulous
We loved it! Everything from the wine to the dessert and in between. Can’t wait to go back!
Great pasta, great zucchini parm, chicken should be avoided— tasted blah, almost as if it was boiled.
Amazing all around. Great atmosphere and incredible food and service.
This was our second time in two years. We were looking forward to dining here as the first time was memorable. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in our meals. My chicken was dry. The chef sent a dessert to our table as an apology. Nice touch, but we won’t be returning.
A little overrated.
Cozy interior/exquisite patio, attentive staff, and delicious, beautifully presented food. Lovely!
We sat on the patio. The food was incredible, flavorful and the portions were a good size. The servers were very attentive and friendly. I especially enjoyed the desserts!
This was our first time at Il Tegamino. Our wait staff were outstanding and very attentive. We ordered the zucchini as an appetizer. It was rich and delicious. The Ragu was recommended on OpenTable. We both ordered it and the Ragu didn't disappoint. It had lots of meat and it was delicious. We definitely will be going there again
As a local, this is a nice place to take visitors as well as just relax on a quiet evening.
The food was not bad, just not interesting or outstanding.
Food wasn't as good as normal. To my surprise, some of the hot appetizers were a bit cool in the center, and the main entree just wasn't hot enough (temperature wise).
Dined outside and had a special evening
Coming back soon
The menu selection and dish sizes are small, however it is perfect for a date night. Order the beef. Well worth it. Outdoor seating is covered, heated, and intimate. Will return.
Wonderful ambiance, excellent service, and sumptuous cuisine! My girlfriends and I went there for our monthly girls night dinner. Just the four of us. We spent 3 amazing hours there. I love that they took our entree order after we finished our appetizers. It truly was a relaxing dining experience.
We had a very nice dinner at Il Tegamino this past weekend. We sat outside on a relatively warm evening although they had both blankets and heat lamps so had it been super cold it would have been comfortable regardless. The burrata appetizer is great. Everything was cooked well. I guess I just wasn't blown away which is why I gave the restaurant a 4 instead of 5 stars.
A nice local Italian place that is the quintessential Carmel locals spot. Hard to find, small, and funky- it hit all the notes.
Food is good, menu a little limited, service casual but attentive and the $30 corkage a bit presumptuous, but we keep going back.
It's a nice setting, however, the food is standard fair - nothing special
Very gracious staff in pleasant surroundings. Excellent food and service. A welcome addition to Carmel’s restaurants.
A wonderful hidden gem! Authentic Italian food. Wonderful service and romantic ambiance. Everything was delicious and fresh!
