   We wanted to take our preteens to the Drag’d to Dinner event after finding out about it. Menu looked good and theme was great, so we gave it a shot. Exceeded our expectations wildly. So much fun, and the performers were phenomenal. Food was excellent, if not a little slow/confused getting out. It was packed and wild, so understandable. We will be back regularly, and soon. Great event!!!

   The food was great, only complaint and I should have mentioned at the time, the silverware was not clean and my friend Steph had to take 2 sets from adjoining table. I still tipped as I am not that kind of customer and the food was A+++

   Went to the adjoining Hotel Vintage in downtown Portland for a night of getting away and was blown away by the experience. Very quiet and intimate setting with a view to the kitchen. Our Waiter Devon was amazing! He saw my girlfriend and I at a small table and offered to move us to a larger table. From there my girlfriend and I had a great experience with him. So energetic, engaging, and committed to his profession. The food was amazing! The focaccia bread was unlike any I had before. I can see why it’s a customer favorite. Even the Italian salad had the best dressing I’ve ever tasted. The Marsala chicken was also incredible. Half chicken full of flavor and ample mushrooms! Lastly the dessert. We had the coffee/caramel gelato. Rich and creamy with amazing flavor. The Executive Chef even stopped by to check in and see how we enjoyed our meal! Food was great but again, our waiter Devon made the experience so much better! We will definitely return and highly recommend.

   It was the worst experience, we’ve waited over 50min for good, which never arrived…we left without eating. It was busy and noisy and it was obvious that they are not set to host the number of people they accepted

   It was my daughters 22nd birthday, all she wanted was a nice Italian dinner and a burrata salad. We found out when we got there they had changed the menu and no longer had burrata. It was incredibly noisy with screaming babies and just felt very chaotic. The service was also horrible, our waitress didn’t know the menu, told me the fish was branzino but it was actually just a fillet of salmon. My husband ordered a chopped salad but got an Italian salad. The wait in between courses was way too long. When our entrees finally came, two of the dishes didn’t come for another 10 minutes. They did take those dishes off our bill due to the delay. When the bill came, one meal was on there that we didn’t receive because they were out of it and one meal was something we never ordered. The whole meal was way too expensive for what we got and the whole experience was incredibly disappointing, we will not be returning.

   Wonderful food, great, attentive service. Small plates were hit or miss in size/portions. Salads were big while small entrees were a little smaller than expected but quality was really nice. Overall, it’s definitely a go-to restaurant for us to try again.

    I had a nice time but, the waiter didn't really check in with us throughout the meal. I forgot my glasses and I asked him to read the options off to me since it was Valentines Day menu, I think he was a but annoyed with my request. He seemed to perk up at the end of the meal when my date said keep the change. The ladies at the front who greeted and seated me where wonderful! I felt welcomed when I arrived and they greeted me as I left, they were exceptional!!

    Very impressed ! Only thing that bugged me was small table for 4 and it was so close to the other tables . The restaurant is huge and not full - Iplenty of space to give more elbow room for those dining! Service was great and food really good. Will be back

    The food was excellent, but the most refreshing aspect of our dining experience was the exceptional service we received. The timing was spot on, recommendations perfect, and the true team work between Raquel and Jake a pleasure to watch. Many restaurants put out good food, but not many out out great food and perfect service. Well done!!! We will be back soon.

    We were there for New Year’s Eve and we were excited about the menu. Service was very nice but also very slow. We made our menu choices and when it came to dessert two of our party were served a substitute cake as they had run out of the menu choices. That didn’t make sense as most diners were there with reservations. Food should have been planned and available. I get short staffing these days but we allowed 2 1/2 hours for dinner and we were still late for our concert reservation. All said, food was fine but certainly not worth the price. Would not recommend this place

    NYE: We arrived at a 7:30 reservation were seated, server took our drink order, disappeared for forty minutes after actively avoiding our entire section— table to the right of us had a 6:30 reservation trying to make a 9:00 concert, left at 9:15, never got their entrees, instead took dessert to go. Table to the left of us had 90 minutes between starters and entree, 30 minutes between entree and dessert and were presented with a check that had to be corrected 4 times. We were served a martini in a warm glass after contacting 2 other staff members. One drink for two people at 8:10. We finally received the bottle of mineral water we ordered in the middle of our second course— about 9:00 PM. We asked to speak to the manager or maître d’ several times— finally after our server came to our table and cried— really cried because it was NYE and there were balloons in her way and it was hectic—the assistant GM came and whispered in my ear that he was aware of the problems and he was going to buy my dinner. By 9:30 we finally received our entrees after being served the wrong ones by someone from the kitchen. Then dessert took another 30 minutes— this was a prix fixe— please remember— and we were presented with a bill for the entire dinner and our drinks. I’ve been in the restaurant business FOH, BOH and owner for 35 years and I would have comped our entire section if one of my servers had been responsible for such mayhem. However, I paid, tipped and gave it to the server and was contacted by the assistant GM for my phone number and name so he could “do something” about our bill. The next day he called to inform me he had taken the price of one entree off my bill; when I asked how he had arrived at that he said it was the equivalent of an employee discount. Still can’t figure that one out. The food was above average but not worth the experience. At all.

    We came here on New Years Eve and the restaurant was offering a fixed menu. The food was delicious and extremely flavorful. The restaurant was busy with this special event so I don't know that we got the best example of their typical service.

    Very nice NYE meal at Il Solito. Did the prix fix menu and dishes ranged from good to great (best were the fois gras and mushroom starters) with only one (the cod) that didn’t meet the bar. Price was less than half of comparable 3/4-course menus we were looking at for NYE, and it was also a good amount of food, so the value was outstanding! Space was nice but a little packed and noisy… neither to the degree that it took away from the meal, though.

    New Year’s Eve - $65/person for four courses. 6:00 reservations, not too crowded, but the service was incredibly disorganized. “Did you order two salads?” says the person delivering the food. No, we didn’t. No one in our section claimed the salads. Similar confusion with entrees. My husband’s sea bass was served cold. Every time a course was removed, so was the cutlery. I “borrowed” some from an empty table. Our waiter stopped coming by after taking our order, until it was time to deliver the bill. Positive - delicious creamy soup, smooth, rich olive oil cake.

    Good choice for creatively seasoned Italian food and ambience. Nice selection of wines by the glass. Friendly, attentive service without being intrusive. Only disappointment was the tiramisu as the ladyfingers were not properly soaked and the layers were indistinct.

    Food was excellent. Bread was fantastic. Pasta was very tender, steak was expertly prepared. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Desserts were delicious. I would dine here weekly if I lived in Portland.

    Although the offerings are similar, this is not the same restaurant that it was prior to the pandemic. The chef who opened the restaurant is no longer affiliated, so the preparations are no longer nearly as fine as they once were. Meanwhile, prices have risen markedly, outstripping the increase demanded by inflation. The service and ambiance are still wonderful, but you will pay a significantly higher price for a much smaller -- but delicious -- Caesar salad, a very small -- but beautifully-presented -- portion of focaccia, and a very ordinary dinner of spaghetti & meatballs. I would not risk $75.00 on a preparation of veal chop parmesan at this particular restaurant.

    Let me preface this with the fact that I am quite a good home cook and my standards are pretty high. We ordered the delicata squash special and it was tasty, but somewhat over salted. While my portion was fairly sufficient for me, my partner thought it was too small, especially for the price. The chopped salad was quite tasty, but again, extraordinarily expensive. Additionally, no bread or anything else was offered with the dinners. We had one medium sized scoop of ice cream in a cold bowl (nice touch) but it was not garnished in any way or otherwise enhanced. The $7.00per scoop was pretty outrageous. Additionally, the water we received was warm, which we pointed out to our server and it supposedly was corrected. There seemed to be some kind of failure in the kitchen. Our total bill came to around $100.00, which we considered overpriced for the value received. This was, by the way, a meatless dinner. I think you need to do better in order to survive the, what I would assume, fairly competitive restaurants scene in Portland. All in all, we were disappointed, since we expected better dinner choices as well as competitive prices. We received very good service, however, since there were very few diners in the restaurant, the wait staff was not busy. We were looking forward to a good restaurant experience after the opera, unfortunately, you did not provide it.

    Il Solito was closed for a while and they've recently reopened. It was not busy as most people didn't know they opened. The menu is limited as far as entrees. I'm not sure if they've trimmed it back temporarily or if this is how it's going to be. We had the chicken marsala it was not flavorful. Also, the waiter kept coming around and interrupting us. Before we ordered, during our meal, after our meal, before dessert, etc. Ironically, when we wanted to pay, he was no where to be found! Anyway, I do hope they work their kinks out soon. Otherwise this one will fall by the waist side too. As it was, I cannot recommend Il Solito.

    We had a fantastic meal with our college daughter and her roommate. We were visiting from SF and took a chance as they had just reopened. Our Arancini’s were delicious. We ordered the focaccia w/butter was presented and tasted fabulous . I could have made a meal of just this . We ordered raviolis as well as the Panccheri alla Vodka ( with just the perfect spicy for me) Homemade pasta tubes cooked perfectly. We all shared the Parmesan risotto (rich and tasty) Flourless chocolate cake was a perfect end to a wonderful meal. My daughter said it’s the best meal she’s had since she’s lived in Portland (going on year 3) We will be back soon!!!

    Il Solito has become close to our favorite restaurant in Portland for its delicious food and cozy ambiance. Everything we have tried on the menu in three visits has been deeply satisfying and memorable.
