iL Punto

We’d been here a couple of years ago and had always wanted to return. Delicious food and phenomenal service - we will definitely be back!

This restaurant is authentic, great staff, fantastic chefs and never fails to leave an impression. We always bring friends and out of town visitors here.

Very good Italian menu. There was a large noisy table next to us which made talking challenging but service was solid and everything nicely done.

Just found this restaurant on Open Table as it was close to the Javits Center. It was an amazing gem with amazing food!! My whole team of 6 could NOT stop raving about the food!!! The octopus potato appetizer was to die for!!! So good we ordered it again towards the end of our meal!!!!

Great place for pre-theater, with more originality in the menu than you see in many restaurants near the theater district. Friendly, great service, highly recommend.

Service was slow as they had a large table to satisfy. Food was average nothing amazing. Small restaurant, looks put together fast, no harmony in decor. Prices are above average. Prob would skip another visit

Excellent food and great evening

Recommended to us on a short trip to NY, didn't disappoint, well worth a visit for traditional Italian food prepared / presented in a slightly different way. Great service and atmosphere.

As always Il Punto did not disappoint. The antipasto platter was a delight. The scallops were a great choice. All the pasta dishes were unique and tasty. . The gamberini salad yummy. The Brunello was outstanding.

Charged $16 for a kids meal, cup of pasta. After it wasn’t right, it took 25 minutes to get another. Food is overpriced

If there was a negative it is the closeness it feels a little tight, but overall it was a fabulous night, the food was phenomenal, the service top notch and the value perfect for the quality of what you received. I will definitely look forward to going back. Thank you for making my mothers birthday dinner a terrific experience. Great job everyone!

The food was unbelievably delicious! The waiter brought us a cold tomato soup on the house to start with. Then we shared with the stuffed artichoke hearts. Super tasty! I had the squid ink pasta with shrimp, mussels, and calamari. While I needed to mix it because the sauce was underneath it all, once I did, the flavor was bursting. My husband had their version of lasagna and quickly destroyed it because of how much he loved the taste. For dessert we shared the dark chocolate mousse, which was rich, but not too much, and the blueberry lemon Pana Cotta, which was perfectly set and balanced between sweet and sour for a wonderful finish. Our waiter was patient, yet didn't ignore us either...perfectly paced for our meal. I would highly recommend iL Punto and can't wait to go back for more meals here!

My team and I were craving Italian food and this place did not disappoint! It’s a quaint restaurant with a great atmosphere. Service was impeccable and everyone in the group enjoyed the appetizers we ordered for the table and their individual entrees. I highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely eat here again!

Fungi Ripini were excellent with large pieces of crab and the lemon sauce. The Insalada de Campo with fennel and lemon dressing was fresh and very tasty. The eggplant side dish was outstanding and the red sauce was up there with the best I have ever had. My partner had a Parpardella Della Selva Nera. The dish was outstanding. We loved the Cannolini. The filling was the best I have ever had. Smooth and not grainy. The Gelato was also great, both chocolate and vanilla. Drinks were tasty and generous. The house Pino was very drinkable. Drinks are generous. The only area with room for improvement in my mind, was the Atlantic cod wrapped in prosciutto. I really enjoyed the contrast between the two. However the cod was a bit dry.
Service was attentive but not overbearing. I would recommended this restaraunt.

The staff couldn’t have been any nicer after my dinner date cancelled. I dined at the bar and they were attentive and friendly. As a solo woman business traveler I really appreciated being welcomed. The food was marvelous!

The food and service were absolutely impeccable! Before arriving I read glowing reviews about iL Punto, so I knew it would be good. It ended up being a true gastronomic delight, totally unexpected! The depth of flavors for each course were incredible. I now know why it’s one the the top ten Italian restaurants in the city! I will definitely return every time I visit.

Amazing food in a quaint ambiance.

Great meal, great service.

This was our first visit to Il Punto and we were very positively impressed. First, the place is lovely: Charming, beautifully decorated for Christmas, lovely table settings - very warm and friendly. Second, our table was perfect: a round table in a corner so our group of 7 was not in the middle of all the other diners. Third - cocktails were delicious and beautifully presented. Fourth the food: Absolutely outstanding. We were served a gratis small bowl of Italian tomato soup which was wonderful. Then we all ordered different things and everything was beautifully prepared and very tasty. Desserts were equally impressive. Fifth, the service was attentive and friendly. And finally, the tab for the 7 of us was very reasonable. I simply cannot say enough good things about Il Punto. We'll be back, for sure!

We picked Il punto because of the location to the Hammerstien Ballroom. There's not much in the way of nicer restaurants in the area. I have to say, I wish we ate uptown and taxied down. I was disappointed in my appetizer and dinner. Out of four people, two enjoyed their dinners. The restaurant was packed and the ambiance was nice, but the food was disappointing.

Great dinner for a large business party. Accomodating and lots of selection. It was a bit noisy, but part of an positive ambiance.

Not your run of the mill Italian restaurant. In addition to some standard menu items, there are also unique, creative and delicious dishes. Highly recommend!

Great little place for a dinner with friends. Wonderful food and drinks.

First time visiting this restaurant. We arrived early, greeted and grabbed a spot at the bar. Lovely offering of wines and professional bar service. We were seated at our table on time. Dining with three others, slightly rushed for placing our dinner orders. When our meals were served, smaller portions than expected, well prepared and tasty. some service errors occurred, my entree was a salad, that was served to my husband rather than I, and some confusion occurred with the orders. Another service error, desserts were delivered to the wrong guests. Overall, still a nice evening and dinner experience.

Excellent meal. Veal tenderloin, tortellini with porcini. Wines by the glass so-so. Only negative was high noise level. Would go back.

Have dined here several times pre-theater and we've always had a great experience. Wonderful food and service.

Reasonable prices but wine by the glass is crazy expensive. Not authentic Italian but ok.

This is a little gem of a restaurant in the big city! Food was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent even while the restaurant was fully booked. Atmosphere is warm and cozy- casual and elegant at the same time. I would definitely recommend iL Punto!

Great manager and staff

The staff were very friendly. Initially, we were seated next to the door, but the maitre'd told us that he had a better table in the back, which was much warmer and cozier. Other than one noisy party in the back, which left before our entrees, the atmosphere was great. This crew is legit. We asked the waiter for a wine recommendation and the wine that he recommended was an excellent choice (and it wasn't the most expensive on the menu, so he wasn't trying to steal a few more dollars from us, which is always appreciated). The food was great. Overall, excellent experience that I would repeat.

Fantastic service and worked very well with a large group. Antonio was a great communicator on everything and I really appreciate the level of service for a pre-marathon dinner.

Nice spot, food was very good, but unfortunately we were seated in the third of their three dinning rooms at a table that backed up to what looked like a service bar. Throughout our meal the waiters in this dining room used it to stage food delivery for a larger party near us. This proved to be very disruptive and detracted from our personal dinning experience.

One other note - the table our party of four were seated at had a trestle like table base which made is uncontrollable to sit at as there was very little leg room.

The service from our waiter Andrea was outstanding. He was professional in every respect and knew exactly when to have our glasses refilled, ask for our order, and take away the plates. The food was excellent and perfectly prepared. They accommodated my daughter, who has celiac, with gluten free pasta. She finished an entire bowl of generous proportion which is something she rarely does. Kudos to the chef and waitstaff.

The only downside was waiting to be seated. We had a 6 pm reservation for 4 people (wife and two daughters). We arrived at 5:45-5:50 and had to wait until about 6:15 to be seated while three other parties of 2, 4, and 6 people with 6 pm reservations who arrived well after us were seated before us. The host later apologized after we raised an objection which I appreciated.

Had an excellent meal.Everything we ordered was delicious. The service was exemplary. Our server Idar went out of his way to make it special, even letting us change tables when a larger one became available. Little gestures like that, mean a lot.
