Fabulous food in a cozy environment
I took my Team here for dinner. Everyone loved it! The service was wonderful - they made us feel welcomed and were on top of everything. The food was absolutely incredible! Everyone said their meal was terrific. Will definitely go there again.
Outstanding food and service. The ambience was wonderful. I would go back the next time I am in NYC.
Nice find in the area of my hotel; I was there for a business meal, but it would be a great for a date or any special occasion. The two of us each started with salads that were very fresh and beautifully presented: the beet salad and the poached pear. For entrees, I had the Cioppino, and the seafood was all very well prepared (the calamari was as tender as I've ever had). If you like a bit of heat, ask for red pepper flakes, as this dish doesn't pack much of a punch. My colleague had the Ziti Al Forno with grilled chicken added, and she commented on the perfect eggplant in the dish. We split the two cannolis that came on the dessert plate - not sweet at all, very ricotta-forward. I was to return the next night with another colleague, who unfortunately got sick and canceled her trip - too bad, I was looking forward to it. I'll be back next time I'm in NYC. Service was professional if not a bit slow - I had to get the waiter's attention when needed, as he didn't stop by or look our way. It's a very small place, so perhaps a bit better awareness on their part is the only suggestion I could make.
Very good food and service, convenient to train and wasn’t overly crowded which was great, went prior to visiting another part of city close by and avoided the crowds, definitely recommend!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Always a good experience!
Our experience at Il Punto was superb. We felt at home from the moment we walked through the door and were treated royally throughout our dinner. Our meal was excellent - some of the best Italian food we have ever had. This restaurant was a great find and we would highly recommend it.
Had our choice of 3 different tables/dining rooms. Host and servers really made us feel special. Veal Marsala was the best I’ve ever enjoyed. We would return in a heartbeat.
We felt welcome upon arrival and that feeling continued until we left. Service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. Our meals were very good to better than that. iL Punto will become part of my rotation when I am in town.
Had a wonderful experience and it reminded my and I of our meals on the west coast of Italy several years ago.
Il Punto is a local gem! Great food. Fantastic wines and exceptional service. The gorgonzola gnocci is not to be missed. Ask for Renee and you'll be well cared for. Highly recommended!!
Dinner was delicious. Staff was excellent and very accommodating. Convenient to the port authority. Will definitely come back
This restaurant exceeded my expectations. The staff was very welcoming, pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent and the presentation of the dishes was beautiful. The deserts were very fresh and delicious too. The seating was comfortable and not cramped. The noise level was low and pleasant for conversation. I will definitely return.
Enjoyable meal, service, at an acceptable price point. I’d recommend it and go back. Some colleagues said their dishes were the best they ever had.
Possibly the best dinner I’ve had in two or three years. The veal was fantastic and I would highly recommend the tiramisu!
Don’t be put off by the size of the restaurant. Staff was attentive and service was great.
Recommended for big parties, birthdays, anniversities
Love this neighborhood gem. Had a wonderful meal with good friends. Everything was perfect - food, wine, ambiance and Rosie our server. I highly recommend!
This is a hidden gem. One of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. The food is authentic and the ambiance and service exceptional. This is truly an insiders restaurant. A real find.
Very good Italian. Food in small. Cozy setting. Excellent pasta and reasonable prices.
Amazing as always
The appetizer are very good but the main course was average
Food and service was excellent
Each dish was well prepared and delicious. The service made it even better. The staff was attentive to each request. We weren't rushed. It was a delightful experience. We will be back.
Slow, slow, slow service. The food was outstanding-maybe the best Calamari we have ever had. Entrees also very tasty-try the red snapper if you favor sea food.
Delicious food especially the Cabrese!
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and they sat us at our table and didn’t rush the meal on us. Food was great, but the menu was short on some traditional entree’s. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
Our meal at Il Punto was absolutely perfect. We had a 4:30 reservation after a matinee, and the restaurant was empty, so I have no idea how noisy it gets when it is crowded.
We received amuse-bouches of small bowls of gazpacho, and warm foccacia bread and breadsticks with olive oil. We shared a salad which was perfectly dressed with a vinaigrette dressing. I chose the snapper in a tomato sauce and my husband ordered the eggplant parmigiana. His order was an appetizer, but was ample enough for his entree. We finished off with tiramisu. Outstanding!
Great service and food. The set up of the restaurant is cute and not very loud so perfect for family and friends gathering.
Extremely friendly welcome and service. My veal Marsala was exceptionally tender. Will return when in NY again.
The service was excellent. The food was really good, especially the seafood. The portions are large. We enjoyed a great pre-theater meal before heading over to the Westside Theater.
On vacation .
My food was super good, the lobster ravioli was great. But my friend didn’t care for the fish. It was “fishy”. The staff was wonderful about it and did the right thing. Will definitely go back.
Very nice place and food is Great! I always thing of this restaurant when I come to NYC.
Love this place...delicious!!!! Whenever we visit New York on business this is our go to restaurant. Best good food near the Javitts Center.
We visit NYC several times a year. We decided to come back for a second time after a favorable experience last year.
The occasion was my wife's birthday and we were so happy that we came back!
Our food was amazing, service was generally good (they were a little overwhelmed that night). The birthday candle with dessert was a nice touch and greatly appreciated.
Planning a trip in May and considering bringing our friends!
I wen tot Il Punto with two girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. We had a wonderful time from the moment we walked in. Bartender, staff were wonderful and accommodating. Our server, Luis, was patient, and attentive. The food was delicious. We had: Veal Chop, Polo il Punto, and Pollo Croccante. We are already scheduling our next visit.
Very authentic Italian feel
Food was mediocre.
Calamari was overdone and chewy. Sauces were great.
Fettuccini was very good
Chicken panini was burnt and that’s all I could taste was the burnt bread.
Asked the waiter if it was supposed to be burnt and he said yes. So maybe they have to clean the pan so customers don’t taste the burnt food.
I wouldn’t go back.
Went to Il Punto on 2/20 after booking a reservation based on strong reviews. Decided to order two appetizers and two sides to share with my daughter. The waiter who it turned out was the manager, Andreas, was confused with our order. We told him we’d like the two appetizers first followed by the sides. A while later the two sides showed up eggplant Parmesan and pasta. Someone else delivered them and we waited to get his attention to inform Andreas that we didn’t want our salad and artichokes after this. He was confused and told us that’s how we had asked for the meal. (No sense of customer is always right but whatever). He said he’d redo the order and now we are waiting and waiting with the hot food sitting there. We decide to eat the food because it seems to be taking a long time for our salad and appetizers. And we tell
him to just forget those. He tells us that he’s already ordered them and he’ll comp us for them. Thwy eventually are delivered to the table and we do eat them. He then tells us that’s he’s preparing another eggplant and pasta for us- we advise no need to etc etc
We then ask for the check and are fully charged. We call him over and he blames the hostess who was lovely and had witnessed the whole mess. He then says he’ll correct it, he brings back a new
Bill and this time only deleted one of the two items he promised to comp. I was tempted to just leave it and not tip but his lack of listening skills really bothered me and his quickness to blame the hostess. He then blames her again at which point I’m more annoyed. It was clearly his mistake. I start engaging him just as our take home order are now handed to us- ridiculous- demonstrating that he didn’t listen again.
In the end he ripped up the entire check and felt he accommodated us. That wasn’t what I was looking for but in the end was pleased that I didn’t have to pay for a miserable experience.
Will never go there again and hope for future patrons Andreas is not the manager.
