Eclectic, neighborhood Italian restaurant in the heart of Ooltewah. we take reservations for a portion of our tables, leaving much of the restaurant for guests to simply walk-in without a reservation. We take reservations by phone daily from the hours of 2:00 to 5:00 or anytime through the Ooltewah location page of www.primochattanooga.com.

Come and enjoy an authentic American-Italian inspired cuisine, complimented by a diverse selection of Italian and American wines and signature craft cocktails.

Featuring the same classic, American-Italian menu, warm service and lively communal environment as the original Il Primo Northshore, Il Primo Cambridge is the perfect place for gatherings of friends, family and associates. Il Primo Cambridge offers one-third of its tables for reservations, leaving the remaining two-thirds of the tables for guests to simply walk-in. Included in the reservation area of the restaurant is a semi-private area with seating for up to 32 guests. The private area at Il Primo Cambridge is separated from the main dining room with large, velvet curtains that provide complete visual separation and partial acoustic privacy. This area includes a large, soundproof window into our kitchen, animating the area with the bustle of our culinary staff. This area of the restaurant may be reserved for the evening for a food and beverage minimum. All food and beverage purchases are applied towards the minimum, with any remaining balance charged as a room charge.

To be honest, it’s way overhyped and way overpriced. We’ve been there once before, and thought the same thing. We decided to give a second try, wish we would have tried something else instead. I got the meatballs, but it tasted like they got their sauce out of a Chef Boyardee can. The meatballs themselves were rather bland, and lacked any real texture besides mushy. My wife got the halibut, it wasn’t bad, but for $45 we thought it should come with more than just canned corn on top. We got a side of spaghetti and marinara just to try it. Again, it tasted like it came out out of a box with Chef Boyardee sauce. Even the bread they serve as an appetizer was left untouched. There wasn’t anything we actually enjoyed. We laughed later and said we spent $80 on fish sticks and Chef Boyardee, which was honestly what it seemed like.

Used to love this place but it just has been in decline for some time. This was start to finish bad. Cocktails were bad, appetizer undercooked, and carbonara that was basically a noodle soup. Update the menu and get back to basics.

Great dinner. Also had a birthday note waiting on our table for my wife! And they gave us a $10 coupon to come back! Great place!

Enjoyed the service, meal, and price of the dining experience. Staff was spot on with service and were very attentive to our needs without being prodded. Very satisfied with the experience.

Il Primo never fails to deliver great food and amazing service. I had the Roasted Beet Salad and Anancini Telefono. Both were delicious. My husband had the Halibut with Pineapple Salsa with a side of Creamy Polenta. Absolutely mouth watering.

A favorite dining spot in Ooltewah. Just a little subpar tonight. Likely above average for most other restaurants in the area. Service was friendly but a little absent. Food took a long time and it wasn’t very busy. The bread brought to the table was a mini portion compared to many previous times. My broccoli was under cooked and quite cool. Usually it is fantastic. The flavor of our food was otherwise outstanding.

This is my husbands favorite place to eat for his birthday! We love the food and the service. We love the Chicken Marsala, the soups and salads, and about anything else we have tried. And we also love the convenience of the area without going to downtown Chattanooga. Thank you to our waiter, Alex, he was great !!!
