Your experience at Il Posto will be the ultimate journey for the time that you will spend with us.
It was fine. Kind of expensive for what it is. Some dishes were very strong. Others very weak. Service was attentive but we ended up with one incorrect dish. I’d eaten once at their old location and thought it was better.
Il Posto was amazing! We did the chef's tasting with wine pairing while at counter seating so we watched the kitchen do their thing. Amazing! Definitely do this. There were four of us and we each received something different at all 5 of our courses. Every course was amazing!
Thank you so much for great review! We're so glad to hear you enjoyed dining with us and experiencing what our talented chef's have to offer with the tasting menu. We hope to see you again soon! Ciao, Taylor Trenda Assistant General Manager
Cocktails were a bit mild in flavor. In house buratta was the best in town ...a must have. Grilled octopus was extremely rubbery and needs some charred grill marks (likely over cooked on not hot enough grill), lamb rack was fabulous, pasta with spicy lamb sausage was very good, parsley/mint cake & cappuccinos were fabulous. Owner in house was both gracious and observant. Note: website states you have your table for 1.5 hours but excellent wait staff insures that’s sufficiently enough time... but not a lingering experience if expectation is such. A go to place for a lovely reservation. We will dine there again.
We went for the launch of brunch. Everything was superb!
Had an amazing and unique dinner for grandparents 65th anniversary. The staff was great and the food was delicious.
Thanks for the review! We are so appreciative that you came to dine with us for such a special occasion and are glad we lived up to the celebrations! Hope to see you again soon. Ciao, Taylor Trenda Assistant General Manager
I was probably expecting too much after hearing this place has some of the best Italian food in Denver and that they make their own infusions for cocktails and sou vide the fruits for added flavor in the drinks. The drinks were really good. The food was not that great. The oso bucco was a special that day and it was clearly pressure cooked. They didn’t even take the time to properly cook a weekly special. It tasted just like a pressure cooker I could barely taste the veal which I never get to eat because my wife is against veal. The risotto was also cooked in the pressure cooker and tasted as such. I heard they had amazing risotto but this was barely edible. It was my wife’s birthday so they treated us well, giving us a glass of Prosecco and putting a candle on our dessert. It was not a terrible experience but I expected more for how much money we spent. They may want to look at that pressure cooker as it made the food taste horrible.
We loved Il Posto! We enjoyed a quiet dinner on a Sunday evening, choosing many of the waitress's suggestions and ordering an extra dish to indulge ourselves. Il Posto offers a "Sustainable Sunday" menu using ingredients that they have on hand rather than tossing them. It is their effort to reduce their carbon footprint. It involves 3 new chef creations that are unique to the day and adventurous. While we didn't order from the sustainable Sunday Menu, we did love each dish we ordered. Our favorite dish was the risotto peperoni, which had layer flavors and much depth.
Seating Inside was strange, the booth were tall and cold kind of isolated, Probably for a romantic dinner would have been good ( when you find want to see anybody else but your partner) therefore we ask to be change to outside. Ambiance was much better. At the beginning service was a little slow but then it improves. It seems that the lady ( server)didn’t have confidence for the job
The drink I ordered was very good and the food was also very good. Size was perfect not to big not to small. Priced went according with place and food.
Great experience at the chefs countet!
Horrible food! Poor service. Expected better.
Sad to say Il Posto has lost its soul.
First time at the new location.
Service was noticeably bad and food was unremarkable. Too bad.
We sat at the chef's counter and had the chef's 5-course tasting menu and wine pairing. We each had a tasting menu...so in essence we had 10 different courses with 10 different wine for the two of us.
Each course was amazing!!!! We were provided detailed descriptions of each dish and each wine.
We got off to a bad start when we were seated in the worst table in the restaurant when it was only half full. It was our anniversary, we made a reservation, got dressed up, and were treated like we were an inconvenience. No one mentioned our anniversary and the service was slow. Food was good but the experience was lacking.
Poor service and food was average. We had higher hopes
It was great! Food was good, cocktails were good and staff was amazing.
Disappointed. Our table faced a wall. Food was very good but very expensive.
insensitive main server, repeatedly interrupted our conversations, mediocre, tired Italian food
I have no idea how this restaurant made the Essential Denver list of must eat at restaurants. Aside from the Burrata and our server, everything was poor to mediocre. The food tasted like a frozen meal from Trader Joe’s, especially the paella.
We had a wonderful dinner- thank you!
What a treat to find a true Italian restaurant with authentic food and great wine list!
Love everything about this place. Chef Andrea is great!
Delicious food and fantastic service! My only comment is that I felt like we were "up-sold" on the wine we ended up purchasing -- and didn't realize how expensive it was until we got the bill. It WAS delicious, but we probably wouldn't have ordered it if we were clear on the cost up front. (Perhaps we just misunderstood, and in that case, the fault is ours.) But, we will certainly go back as it's one of our favorite restaurants in Denver.
We LOVE il Posto! Andrea is the best!
Food and service were both excellent but noise level was too high for easy conversation
Creative menu with food prepared to perfection. We enjoyed amazing cocktails before dinner that were as delicious to the eye as to the palate. A truly wonderful experience!
Pretty decent italian spot in a happening area. The booth we sat in was pretty cool in the sense that we felt we were the only people in the restaurant. The food was good but the plates were super small. Decent but not my favorite!
Basic. They were out of at least 4-5 dishes on a medium sized menu on a holiday weekend, speaking of poor planning. The menu: Calamari appetizer is salty filler. Less than al dente pasta in several dishes. Stay away from pea pesto pasta—ill conceived dish all the way through. The lamb was solid but it rested on flavorless farro and mushrooms that tasted like that have been milked of their flavor several times before. The service was kind but less than polished (wait for share plates even after stating we were sharing several times, no utensils to serve the shared dishes, ate our appetizer off bread plates). Shout out to the engaged and personable somm, though. For the price, a terrible value. This place would already be out of business in San Francisco, Chicago or New York.
Food was unimpressive but still had a nice night
Our annual anniversary dinner at a restaurant we have never tried before. Food was very good, service was great and would definitely go back.
Still one of THE absolute best restaurants in Denver- hands down.
Doesn’t live up to the hype. Went with 2 other friends- no ones dish was anything to brag about or even worth finishing
Excellent food, terrific service, beautiful presentation.
Service was exceptional
Food and wine very doecial
Does not disappoint. Excellent service, wine and food. Beautiful restaurant.
Only issue we had was our server felt like he had to explain to us how to leave a tip. Really?!?!
Great Anniversary Dinner for us.We’ll be back! Very cool place!!
Very nice meal and overall experience. We sat upstairs near window in early evening; light and airy and great to people-watch on Larimer st. Food was very good; we recommend the Burrata as a starter if you are hungry... large (and super tasty). Grilled octopus also wonderful. Service was great... very attentive and professional but friendly and approachable as well. Really nice evening.
