New Italian spot I haven't tried yet! I think overall this place is an experience, the location is cool but you can get better Italian food just about anywhere else.
Great for Wine Wednesday, and the gnocchi is our favorite.
Service excellent, food excellent. ‘Nough said
It was a bit overrated. For the price and for the quality. I’m a decent cook and I have made better dishes at home. Also, $21 for 1.5 oz for Laws Bonded Bourbon…really? I can buy a whole bottle for $80. The staff and service was good though.
The food was amazing, the mix of flavors was perfect, the fusilli spicy was ESPECTACULAR and cocktail hot mami delicious. Service A++++++
Food was bland, menu choices were underwhelming, portion sizes were small. There are way better choices for Italian food in Denver.
Outstanding food, wine and service. Bravo Andrea!
Fantastic experience. Everything was wonderful.
Fantastic experience, with great menu, great personnel.
I normally love this restaurant and had an excellent dining experience at Il Posto just the week before. This was an earlier reservation and the service was very slow and spotty. We were seated at a booth that overlooks the interior/busy foot traffic rather than the excellent exterior views available at many other tables. There were flies and mosquitos circling our food; perhaps inevitable with so many open windows but needs to be managed.
This is a bustling, usually excellent restaurant with some kinks to work out. Be assertive about table preferences and hope for one of the better waitstaff and seek out one of the two outstanding soms.
Mary, thank you for taking the time to write a fair and detailed review. I am sorry to hear that the service & table selection were not up to standard. We are happy to honor any future table requests, so I hope that chance comes soon. As for the pests, we had a staff cleaning after your visit, since this wet spring and open doors have presented a challenge with fruit flies. We appreciate your understanding and hope we tackled the problem! Cheers, Julie Masciangelo, General Manager/Wine Director
Came here for my anniversary dinner! It was just incredible. I'm a HUGE fan. Highly recommend if you are looking for delicious food, a beautiful ambiance, and very kind service!
Food and wine was wonderful! Love the ambiance. Kelcee our server was fantastic!
I highly recommend this restaurant.
I requested outdoor seating but received a call when the weather started to turn. I really appreciated the care in my experience. The food and service was also wonderful! I'll be back!
Bartender was superb! She was super accommodating and very gracious!
The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and engaging! Amazing wine list and exceptional food. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the USA!
Delicious food, great staff, good environment! Will be back for wine Wednesday in the future
We were fans of the pasta and wine, and the cozy but energetic vibe. The calamari was breaded and prepared in a deliciously different way. The wine list seemed endless, the aperitif and vermouth selection very complete, and the service was great. Both pastas were a hit, both entrees(salmon and chicken) were a bit of a miss, but not bad. Will definitely return for the antipasti and primi, just might skip the secondi next time. Tiramisu was okay.
Taylor was an amazing server. We have a very picky eater and she was very patient explaining to him all of his food choices. Atmosphere was amazing food was great overall an amazing night
We had an early reservation 4:45pm. One table in the main restaurant was occupied. The hostess took us to their extra room to seat us where there was no ambiance and smelled like a sewer.
I asked her if she could please seat us in the main restaurant. She immediately got an attitude offered us a booth but said we must be out of there by 6:15. We explained to her that we didn’t have to sit at their “popular booth area” we just wanted to be in the main restaurant. She rudely pointed to a table and said you can sit there . The waitress Taylor immediately came up to us and asked what we wanted to drink . To be courteous to her I asked her if she wanted to give us a minute to look over the menu. Again ,at this point the restaurant was not crowded however she waited 20 minutes to come back to us to get our drink order . Food was average at best and I’ve never been to an Italian restaurant that didn’t have bread ! Don’t need to go back .
Good atmosphere and the service wine and food was great.
Just went here for Mother’s Day. I go out to eat for two reasons: to get food better than what I get at home, and ambience. I booked this restaurant because the menu looked good and the space looked hip and modern. To my surprise, in what seemed like a moment straight from Spinal Tap, they ushered us past many open tables in the dining room, out through a door, down a hallway, and into what I can only describe as a storage space/art gallery. Did they choose to sit us in back because we had a 10 year old with us? Meal and service were fine, but nothing special. For me, it was an expensive evening to sit in steerage. I understand that restaurants need to be creative in times of COVID, so that’s why we didn’t complain and gave it a shot. If I did choose to return, I’d be sure to request a table in the main dining room ahead of time.
Great food, great service. We will definitely go back again.
I had high hopes for Il Posto based on reviews. Unfortunately I found the two pasta dishes we had to be bland and overpriced for what was delivered to our table. The indoor design and ambiance was fun, but the food was strongly lacking. I won't be going back.
Very nice - great service nice vibe
The foligame was amazing!
Amazing food , staff and service
Compared with other visits there:
food still good though served at room temp-not hot-very slow service.
Table layout strange, though I know covid regulations dictates some of that.
Nice enough. Portions on the smaller side. Drinks ok. Food... ok. Popular corner. Earnest staff. Front of house excellent. Wait staff overwrought and harried. Expectations elevated because of past reviews. Didn't really deliver. Not bad, but not good enough to go back.
Disappointed. We had a special dinner planned and though we overlooked the late seating and slow service because our server was outstanding and we knew the restaurant was busy, we couldn't overlook the food quality. The three-course meal we had for Denver Restaurant week was just poor quality and taste. With the exception of the salad which tasted too strongly of anchovy and ocean water, nothing else really had much flavor.
We tried this restaurant for Denver Restaurant Week. While there wasn't a large selection of dishes to choose from, the dishes we had were excellent. Squid, beef cheeks, pappardelle and salmon were all nicely prepared and, in most cases, had a little special flavor that was unexpected in a good way. The wine list was both extensive and impressive and consisted of all Italian wines which is a nice touch at an Italian restaurant. Since we were sampling a variety of dishes, we were puzzled as to which bottle of wine to order. The sommelier was very helpful in finding us a very nice lighter style Nebbiolo that was perfect and not too expensive. The service, in general, was very attentive and friendly. We sat outside, so the ambience was not totally in control of the restaurant, but it was pleasant enough, and we greatly enjoyed the people watching aspect to it.
Food felt super meh compared to a previous experience when everything we ordered was mind blowing. Maybe we struck out going during restaurant week? What a disappointment!
Birthday dinner with our beautiful baby granddaughter. We were at the corner outside table. It was great fun to see people out and about again and the Denver Restaurant week choices were great! A good time had by all
Jonah was excellent, he did a wonderful job making us feel welcomed.
We came with our 2 grandchildren at 4:45 pm so we wouldn’t hit the crowds. We were wrong
Loud noisy and service was so slow!!!
Also the motorcycle gang showed up outside and came in. They also had a large rehearsal party upstairs which looked lovely but once that started no one was getting served on the main floor.
Maybe we hit them at a time where they didn’t have enough bar people and servers.
Also, my dirty martini came with gin and no olive juice or olives
Sent it back. Then it came with straight vodka Finally it came right???
The pasta dishes were undercooked pasta, hard to chew.
Finally we just
Took the desert to go.
Location is in a sketchy area. Will not go back.
Waited way past our reservation time. We were able to sit in the lounge while we waited for our table. It took over 20 min for someone to ask us if we wanted something to drink. The hostess noticed that we were waiting without any service and took our drink order. We were eventually sat upstairs. Food was great. Unfortunately this wasn’t a great first experience.
Great service and food came out very quick. The service was great and so were drinks. Top floor is a great spot to sit.
Disappointing visit during restaurant week so we will give them the benefit of the doubt. Service was awful, food was served cold, pasta was chewy and undercooked, everything was over salted. Overall, I don’t think I would return.
I had a reservation at 8pm and I had to wait over 35 min for my table. From then it was over an hour for the first course. The pasta was undercooked and the meat was burned. I ended up the evening a lot later than expected.
We came for restaurant week and had the best meal!
Excellent experience at this establishment. Great service accompanied by superb food. Asparagus soup and calamari 1st course were very good. Pasta ragu was al dente with a nice pork tomato sauce. The main course was beef cheeks with potatoes and carrots. It was truly exceptional. We enjoyed it so much, we are returning again 3 days after our most recent visit. Kudos to all!
