The host was lovely, our server Jim gave great cocktail recommendations. We enjoyed the patio and food was great.
Excellent food and drinks with friendly service as well.
My husband and I spent a beautiful summer evening on the patio of Il Posto. We tried the fried rice balls with peas and the gazpacho, which were both light, fresh and little spicy...in a good way. The gazpacho was the best and most unique I have ever had. For dinner we shared pasta and mussels. The food would have been a "5" except that the mussels were less than great. They were extremely tiny, chewy and hard to get out of the shells.... As if they had been harvested to soon. I suspect this is a result of limited inventory due to pandemic recovery. Sauce was nice ... All in all a great meal and we will need back.
When you reserve outside for 3 a month in advance and there are no tables in the shade…just me but i think if youre gonna have outside seating try to make it comfortable. The food was just meh- and the bill was over 100$. Wont go back
As always the food was delicious. Minor hiccup with the crab in one dish, but with a brand new menu that is understandable. It was resolved quickly and we definitely intend to continue going!
No salt used on any of the food ordered. Slow service. Good drinks.
This place is one of Denver’s best! The quality overall is fantastic
If you crave Italian food and a great wine list , this is a MUST.
This place is amazing! Jonah was the best bartender ever and made our experience special. I can’t wait to go back!
The food was great. The service was great. I highly recommend the risotto
Price seemed to reflect presentation and not food quality. Chicken was somewhat dry. Service however was outstanding
Our first venture downtown since lockdown for my birthday. Il Posto never disappoints.
It was a mixed bag... ambience, people watching & service were great. But the food was ehhh... The mussels were too spicy and not nearly enough, and the lamb pasta should've been 1/2 the cost or double the portion. I've never seen a restaurant skimp on their pasta! I literally had to share my gnocchi (which incidentally was yummy and well proportioned) with my son so he wouldn't go hungry. Next time we either go for the chef's 5 course tasting, or we don't go. The al a carte seems to be sample sized and/or assuming that people will be eating 5 courses regardless. FYI: we had 3 courses, and that was not enough to satisfy a hungry person.
The service was absolutely excellent! The food was great and wine was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Great menu, and wonderful service. This place is one of Rino's bests.
Nice lil place to take a date.
Service was lackluster, staff were eating and talking loudly to one another. The upstairs seating was being reconfigured for a later seating, we assumed. So loud we could not talk without almost yelling.
We asked the server for her favorite of the pastas. At her suggestion we ordered the gnocchi. The sauce had lovely bright tomato flavor. Unfortunately this was overpowered by the sheer volume of mozzarella incorporated with the gnocchi. The menu description included gran Parma to which there was none. Overall not worth the cost for the sub-par Italian cuisine
We took our friend from out of town here and had never been here ourselves. It was a less busy time than it is usually so the ambiance was fantastic, noise level was quiet, and the food was incredibly delicious. The only complaint we could even think of was how warm it was inside. The staff opened the window for some time but had to close it due to the closing time of the restaurant. Would 10/10 recommend Il Posto to anyone who appreciates good food and good times!
Very loud, fairly attentive service. The chicken breast main entree is not good. Not sure who tasted this and thought it was good enough to be one of just four entrees.
Pappardelle ragu pasta was ordinary. Wish I could say good things, but after going there twice, we are giving up on Il Posto.
Lovely setting. Great service from Cole. Tasty drinks and a good meal.
Our server was the best, the food was the best, the company was the best
The pictures make it look much more upscale. The food was okay. Looked good on the menu but very salty. I got the black widow cocktail (tequila blackberries etc) and I wouldn’t recommend. Not a bad place but probably won’t go back
Brunch was fantastic! We had the rotating pancakes, the Salmon Benedict and Italian version of French Toast.
Had a lovely time outside on Father’s Day. Staff was very helpful and food was amazing. Everything was reasonably priced. Will definitely go back again
We had the worst experience. I made a reservation for 8:45, we arrived and my very tall husband and I were seated at a comically small booth (for his height) - he's giant so this happens no big deal, but it was quite the precursor to our experience. After he squeezed in we proceeded to wait for 20 minutes before any server even acknowledged our presence. She finally took our drink orders (acknowledging our long wait) and then we waited an additional 20 minutes without another visit to our table or delivering our drinks. We walked out, I've never left a restaurant before in my life. Incredibly disappointed after being so excited to experience this well reviewed restaurant. Zero Stars.
New Italian spot I haven't tried yet! I think overall this place is an experience, the location is cool but you can get better Italian food just about anywhere else.
Great for Wine Wednesday, and the gnocchi is our favorite.
Service excellent, food excellent. ‘Nough said
It was a bit overrated. For the price and for the quality. I’m a decent cook and I have made better dishes at home. Also, $21 for 1.5 oz for Laws Bonded Bourbon…really? I can buy a whole bottle for $80. The staff and service was good though.
The food was amazing, the mix of flavors was perfect, the fusilli spicy was ESPECTACULAR and cocktail hot mami delicious. Service A++++++
Food was bland, menu choices were underwhelming, portion sizes were small. There are way better choices for Italian food in Denver.
Outstanding food, wine and service. Bravo Andrea!
Fantastic experience. Everything was wonderful.
Fantastic experience, with great menu, great personnel.
I normally love this restaurant and had an excellent dining experience at Il Posto just the week before. This was an earlier reservation and the service was very slow and spotty. We were seated at a booth that overlooks the interior/busy foot traffic rather than the excellent exterior views available at many other tables. There were flies and mosquitos circling our food; perhaps inevitable with so many open windows but needs to be managed.
This is a bustling, usually excellent restaurant with some kinks to work out. Be assertive about table preferences and hope for one of the better waitstaff and seek out one of the two outstanding soms.
Mary, thank you for taking the time to write a fair and detailed review. I am sorry to hear that the service & table selection were not up to standard. We are happy to honor any future table requests, so I hope that chance comes soon. As for the pests, we had a staff cleaning after your visit, since this wet spring and open doors have presented a challenge with fruit flies. We appreciate your understanding and hope we tackled the problem! Cheers, Julie Masciangelo, General Manager/Wine Director
Came here for my anniversary dinner! It was just incredible. I'm a HUGE fan. Highly recommend if you are looking for delicious food, a beautiful ambiance, and very kind service!
Food and wine was wonderful! Love the ambiance. Kelcee our server was fantastic!
I highly recommend this restaurant.
I requested outdoor seating but received a call when the weather started to turn. I really appreciated the care in my experience. The food and service was also wonderful! I'll be back!
