Your experience at Il Posto will be the ultimate journey for the time that you will spend with us.
The burrata was a big tasteless blob. The lavash chips were interesting.
The pappardelle Bolognese wasn't as interesting as I had expected for an Italian offering.
The deserts were delicious.
Very expensive for an average tasting meal.
Over priced, the food was OK but I feel like it isn't as good as it used to be. Portion was very small and overpriced. I had risotto for $27 with no protein. The wine was also way overpriced. I would rather eat at Tavernetta for the money.
Food took almost 2 hours. When it finally arrived, the risotto dishes we ordered were undercooked, and my friends lamb dish was raw. Service was average at best.
For the same price, go to Tavernetta or another high end Italian spot for far better food and service.
Brought in a group tonight for a business dinner. Service was extremely slow. Waiter said they had a rush because of the Billy Joel concert, but the restaurant was not full. Multiple times it felt like the waiter forgot about us. Even had to hunt down the host or another waiter to find our server. Would give a better rating but the service was embarrassing.
It was the worst service I’ve ever ever experienced.
We went to dinner at Il Posto after a Rockies game on Saturday night, and it was fabulous. Nice quiet booth, great atmosphere. Our server Joe was outstanding and so knowledgeable on the menu. The food was delicious. Loved every minute! Thanks guys.
We sat outside on the patio and loved the atmosphere. All of the food was delicious. On the pricier end but very high quality.
Pretentious and the food selection and quality did not measure up. Good wine list and nice sommelier but that's it.
Great food, drinks and service, we will definitely be back
My husband and I have dined at Il Posto several times. Tonight was disappointing. We both ordered pasta and it was pretty basic and the portion was very small. Service was slow and when they brought us water they spilled it on the table and did not wipe it up. Might be a while before we go back as the restaurant is not inexpensive and was definitely not up to its usual standards.
Food was delicious. Service was attentive but very slow. I’ve been here twice and both times dinner took forever.
Kitchen is one of the best in Denver.
Can’t say enough about the food, drinks and staff!! What a lovely night! Best scallops I’ve ever eaten and in Denver.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback. We hope see you again soon! Ciao, Taylor Trenda Assistant General Manager
Great place love the outside patio! Our server was amazing! We enjoyed everything!
Thank you so much for the five star review. Our team hopes to see you again soon to give you another fabulous experience! Ciao, Taylor Trenda Assistant General Manager
Food was okay, but overpriced. Service was very slow and not very attentive. Very loud, could hardly have a conversation. Seems like they're more concerned about being "hip" than a high quality restaurant.
First experience at Il Posto with girl friend. We walked by the place several times and told ourselves we have to try it. I booked outdoor seating. The evening started out with a terrible rain storm before our reservation time. We caught an urber anyway with hopes that it would pass. When we arrived, we were greeted with an umbrella and escorted into the restaurant where we were greeted with grateful service and appreciation for our situation. We were given many seating alternatives, but we could see that the storm was passing and chose to sit at the bar with the hopes to still get our seat outside. We started with two great summer drinks, one gin focused and the other tequila enriched that were both fantastic and unique, while the staff quickly and efficiently prepared the outdoor seating area with a no nonsense attitude that we were hoping for. We started with the chef's mother's recipe of stuffed calamari, which was filled with great flavor and surprised us with plenty for three. The staff work very well together all the while, clearing dishing, resupplying and keeping us watered up. I got the Scallops and she ordered the Papardelle. We shared and loved them both. True Italian with plentiful flavors and portions. Desert was to be just ice cream, but Posto doesn't roll that way. We were served 3 scoops of 3 different flavors with cherries, chocolate, and brittle caramel that just topped off a wonderful evening.
We had an early reservation and there were not many people dining. It took a ridiculously long time to get our meal.
Il Posto is a fun place to have dinner, right in the middle of all of the action on North Larimer Street in RiNo. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is good. The food is well prepared and interesting but it seems to suffer from a common malady in Denver nowadays--trying to do so much to make the food different that its quality is lost in the messy result. We shared a calamari appetizer that was stuffed with so many additional ingredients that the flavors were impossible to identify, and not particularly tasty. Our entrees were generally good, with one exception. The halibut was well prepared and seasoned. The restaurant's long standing pasta staples, like the papperdelle, were solid. But the KOW Waygu Canaderli, covered with a green "tarragon-yolk emulsion", was overprepared. They went to the trouble of serving expensive Waygu beef and then drowned it in a thick green sauce with a mildly unpleasant taste (tasted more like bell pepper than tarragon) that so completely overwhelmed the flavor of the meat that it might as well have been McDonald's hamburger. We will go to Il Posto again but we are going to be much more careful about ordering. We really only need a few interesting flavors combined in a way that complements the food. It's OK if it isn't the very first time that anyone has ever combined them in this way, Really, it's OK.
Thank you so much for the feedback. We pride ourselves on having a menu with classic Italian food while keeping it simple yet elevated. I am, however, very sorry to hear that our menu didn't live up to what you were expecting and trust that we will happily bring this to the attention of our staff. We are launching our new seasonal menu in August and would love to have you back then to give us another shot to show you how we have improved! Ciao, Taylor Trenda Assistant General Manager
One of my favorite restaurants in Denver! They provided free glasses of champagne for a celebration.
It was fine. Kind of expensive for what it is. Some dishes were very strong. Others very weak. Service was attentive but we ended up with one incorrect dish. I’d eaten once at their old location and thought it was better.
Il Posto was amazing! We did the chef's tasting with wine pairing while at counter seating so we watched the kitchen do their thing. Amazing! Definitely do this. There were four of us and we each received something different at all 5 of our courses. Every course was amazing!
Thank you so much for great review! We're so glad to hear you enjoyed dining with us and experiencing what our talented chef's have to offer with the tasting menu. We hope to see you again soon! Ciao, Taylor Trenda Assistant General Manager
Cocktails were a bit mild in flavor. In house buratta was the best in town ...a must have. Grilled octopus was extremely rubbery and needs some charred grill marks (likely over cooked on not hot enough grill), lamb rack was fabulous, pasta with spicy lamb sausage was very good, parsley/mint cake & cappuccinos were fabulous. Owner in house was both gracious and observant. Note: website states you have your table for 1.5 hours but excellent wait staff insures that’s sufficiently enough time... but not a lingering experience if expectation is such. A go to place for a lovely reservation. We will dine there again.
We went for the launch of brunch. Everything was superb!
Had an amazing and unique dinner for grandparents 65th anniversary. The staff was great and the food was delicious.
Thanks for the review! We are so appreciative that you came to dine with us for such a special occasion and are glad we lived up to the celebrations! Hope to see you again soon. Ciao, Taylor Trenda Assistant General Manager
I was probably expecting too much after hearing this place has some of the best Italian food in Denver and that they make their own infusions for cocktails and sou vide the fruits for added flavor in the drinks. The drinks were really good. The food was not that great. The oso bucco was a special that day and it was clearly pressure cooked. They didn’t even take the time to properly cook a weekly special. It tasted just like a pressure cooker I could barely taste the veal which I never get to eat because my wife is against veal. The risotto was also cooked in the pressure cooker and tasted as such. I heard they had amazing risotto but this was barely edible. It was my wife’s birthday so they treated us well, giving us a glass of Prosecco and putting a candle on our dessert. It was not a terrible experience but I expected more for how much money we spent. They may want to look at that pressure cooker as it made the food taste horrible.
This has been one of my favorite places since moving to Denver more than five years ago. This was also the first time I didn't love every. single. thing. that came out of the kitchen. If this had been my first visit, I would have thought, "it was fine." But because I have had five years of "OMG! That was amazing!" it was a letdown. I had the risotto di pepperoni. Hubs had the bucatini.
Our server was fabulous. The drinks were great.
I hope it was just a slightly off night. I recommend this place to everyone who comes to town. I'll go again, because five years of OMG is worth more than one night of 'meh.'
We loved Il Posto! We enjoyed a quiet dinner on a Sunday evening, choosing many of the waitress's suggestions and ordering an extra dish to indulge ourselves. Il Posto offers a "Sustainable Sunday" menu using ingredients that they have on hand rather than tossing them. It is their effort to reduce their carbon footprint. It involves 3 new chef creations that are unique to the day and adventurous. While we didn't order from the sustainable Sunday Menu, we did love each dish we ordered. Our favorite dish was the risotto peperoni, which had layer flavors and much depth.
Seating Inside was strange, the booth were tall and cold kind of isolated, Probably for a romantic dinner would have been good ( when you find want to see anybody else but your partner) therefore we ask to be change to outside. Ambiance was much better. At the beginning service was a little slow but then it improves. It seems that the lady ( server)didn’t have confidence for the job
The drink I ordered was very good and the food was also very good. Size was perfect not to big not to small. Priced went according with place and food.
Great experience at the chefs countet!
Horrible food! Poor service. Expected better.
Sad to say Il Posto has lost its soul.
First time at the new location.
Service was noticeably bad and food was unremarkable. Too bad.
We sat at the chef's counter and had the chef's 5-course tasting menu and wine pairing. We each had a tasting menu...so in essence we had 10 different courses with 10 different wine for the two of us.
Each course was amazing!!!! We were provided detailed descriptions of each dish and each wine.
We got off to a bad start when we were seated in the worst table in the restaurant when it was only half full. It was our anniversary, we made a reservation, got dressed up, and were treated like we were an inconvenience. No one mentioned our anniversary and the service was slow. Food was good but the experience was lacking.
Poor service and food was average. We had higher hopes
It was great! Food was good, cocktails were good and staff was amazing.
Disappointed. Our table faced a wall. Food was very good but very expensive.
insensitive main server, repeatedly interrupted our conversations, mediocre, tired Italian food
I have no idea how this restaurant made the Essential Denver list of must eat at restaurants. Aside from the Burrata and our server, everything was poor to mediocre. The food tasted like a frozen meal from Trader Joe’s, especially the paella.
We had a wonderful dinner- thank you!
