Il Piccolo Verde is an Italian restaurant that offers pasta, New York-style pizza, Napoletana-style pizza and other traditional Italian dishes. The comfortable atmosphere is highlighted by a wall of windows that allow plenty of sunlight into the restaurant and gives the tables an al fresco feel. Il Piccolo Verde has several dishes that are marked with the Verde Naturale icon, which indicates that they are low-calorie dishes and have been created with organic, unrefined raw and cold-pressed oils, gluten-free organic whole grains and Celtic sea salt.
Il Piccolo Verde offers a wide variety of wine vintages and spirits that pair well with the dishes. Pickup and delivery options are also available.
We have been to Il Piccolo Verde several times. We can always count on good food at reasonable prices. Their Naples pizza is made in a special oven imported from Naples. It produces a crust unlike any other that I have had. Superb! We will continue to return, as the menu definitely appears to be worth exploring.
I went to this restaurant after finding decent reviews on yelp. However what I found was a loud environment, poor customer service and mediocre food. I arrived at the restaurant and immediately placed my order (filet mignon and potatoes) and the food took approximately an hour to come to the table. The manager gave a lame excuse for the delay of the food stating the meat takes a long time (really). The food is nothing to write home about and the service is poor. I have no plans of ever returning.
Since my wife had a craving for cioppino, I Googled where is the best restaurant in Southern California that makes the best cioppino. Even though we have our own favorite Italian restaurants that serves cioppino, I wanted to try a new restaurant. Google provided an article from examiner.com that rated Il Piccolo Verde as having the best cioppino in the United States! That was reason enough to try this restaurant located in Brentwood Village. Before ordering, the waiter brought out a thin pizza-like seasoned bread with minced olives and butter instead of the usual bread served with virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. That was different and tasty. For appetizers we had zupetta (mussels and clams in what turned out to be the same sauce as the cioppino). It was squisito! The examiner.com article was spot on about the cioppino. For only $25, the cioppino couldn't have tasted any better. The only ingredient that could have made it better would be the addition of lobster chunks but, it would cost a lot more than $25. For dessert I had their homemade tiramisu. I only had tiramisu this good at a restaurant that went out of business which had their tiramisu flown in from New York twice a week. Il Piccolo Verde's homemade recipe is the way tiramisu should taste. It's moist but not soggy, not overly sweet and with a hint of rum. Our server, Carlos was attentive, volunteered suggestions and very was friendly. We will be back!
We were a group of 7 old friends meeting for a dinner at PV. We were greeted warmly although they didn't seem to review the days reservation list! But tables were put together quickly and we had our waters and orders taken even though we were nonstop talking.
We did not wait long for our dinners and everything looked very good!
We tried a couple of deserts that were outstanding! Their wines by the glass/bottle were quite fine as well.
I think we all will be going back, if not together with our significant others!
The excellent service.
Good food and nice service. Casual and friendly. Good for the whole family.
Food was average. Service was horrendous. We had to shout at the top of our lungs to get the wait staff to bring anything to the table. They were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They couldn't stop long enough to listen to what we were asking for. They also couldn't figure out where to place things on the table but rather they waited for us to move things around to make room for them. If you remember San Gennaro, then you will know what this place is like. It's what American's imagine Italian food is supposed to be like BUT this Italian can tell you, this stuff isn't even close.
We had a lovely dinner. The "natural menu" was fantastic. Great for folks who care about what they eat.
We stayed at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard and this was a very short drive away in Brentwood Village. The food was very good and VERY plentiful. There were lots of kids and families and also couples from 70's to 20's. I'd go there again!
The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The food is always excellent. They have a great fresh chopped salad. Great variety of foods. Amazing Tiramisu. Easy parking. Excellent for getting together with friends, celebrating birthdays with family,. Warm ambience of a family -owned restaurant and also great for pizza take-out. Highly recommend this restaurant.
