Very interesting and delicious dishes. I my view the interesting aspects enhanced the essential tastes of the ingredients instead of hiding them. Although hardly a quite venue, there was an attractive buzz, and my companion and I had no problem carrying out a conversation.

I expected a much better experience given the reputation and price point of this restaurant. Unfortunately, it was a major letdown. The artichoke salad was practically inedible—the artichokes were overly salty and had an unpleasant, bitter taste. The sautéed misto di mare not only lacked flavor but also left me with an upset stomach. We spent nearly $200 for three people, with just one glass of wine, and left feeling disappointed. The only redeeming part of the meal was the tiramisu, which was genuinely delicious. Sadly, that one highlight isn’t enough to bring me back.

Fun dinner in Eataly. Loved the hamachi and scallop crudo appetizers. The fish is so fresh. Service was friendly and responsive. Appreciated our server’s wine recommendations.

The quality of the food here is one of the best in NYC. One doesn’t often think of Eataly as a dining destination because it’s mainly a market, but the dining elements here are completely underrated in my opinion. We had the salmon crudo, the Caesar salad, the grilled squid and the squid ink shrimp pasta and everything was perfectly executed, top quality and delicious.

Dined here on Jan 18 and shared the following dishes with my friend (hope I got the dish names correct as I got this from the bill) The Gamberi Grigilata Pesce (prawns w/head on). Good. You really can't mess this up. Calamari fritte pesce (fried calamari with fried zucchini sticks) - tasteless. The chef needs to taste what he serves. Please season the calamari or the breading. The fried zucchini it came with was good as well as the sauce. Tagliatelle al tartufo: absolutely delicious! Well made and served al dente. Really loved this! Sauté al Fritti di Mare: wow this was really, really good. The portion was huge and we could have shared. Plenty of clams and mussels in what appear to possibly be a butter and wine sauce. It also came with a very large piece of bread for dipping. The only thing I did not like about the bread was that it was grilled and to my tastebuds the grill marks tasted a bit burnt. Otherwise, I love this dish and plan to have it again. Desert: Bavarese al pistacchio - I really did not like. Appeared to have tart apricots in it. It was terrible and I could not eat it nor did my friend like it. Budino al ciccolato - a very delish chocolate pudding! We also walked to one of their fresh pasta stands and ordered a pound of the spinach and ricotta ravioli and that was tasteless. I wouldn't order it again. Overall a good experience as we arrived early before the rush so service was good. Armando, the waiter, was professional, but not personable. You can be both.
