Tables are spaced well apart to physically distance. Real utensils are wrapped in paper and shinier than ever. All staff wear masks and face shields. Felt completely comfortable eating on their patio.
This was my second time at Eataly, and I wish I could say I was thrilled but I wasn't impressed... Maybe the kitchen is short staffed at the moment due to DineLA? Ordered the bruschetta as a starter and the tomatoes were really pale and not ripe at all. The bolognese tasted a little flat... it needed salt. The raviolis were tiny and had barely any ricotta inside. Overall, disappointed with the food, but filled ourselves up with a couple bottles of wine, so... there's that.
Not crazy about the location. Noisy mall music playing in the background. Food was good.
Love coming here. Love the choices of restaurants or grocery items to buy. Makes me feel like I am in Europe grocery shopping.
We sat outside for to have DineLA lunch. Definitely enjoyed the Hibiscus spritzer over the one cant even remember what flavor it was . We shared the plates so we can have a little of everything. Delish delish delish. Felt like I was back in Italy. Service was attentive and professional. Lol our drinks were wayyy more expensive than the yummy food.
All three of our pasta dishes were undercooked, not al dente.
Decided to use Dine LA to try out this particular part of the Eataly experience. First off, staff was GREAT... extremely attentive without being bothersome and the host was accomodating by adjusting my reservation to an earlier seating. Had the Caprese salad which was very flavorful, but the Ravioli was well below my expectations. It tasted like it had been frozen, was tough to chew and VERY al dente. Also - I wasn't expecting to be literally sitting in the middle of the mall which isn't a "patio". I've been to Eataly on the East Coast so I had high hopes, but I defintiely wouldn't recommend this location EVER.
Great service during COVID. They check your temperature. There’s hand sanitizer for you when you walk in. They give out one use menus. The tables are cleaned and signed off by the person who cleaned them same with utensils. We ate here for DineLA and got the bruschetta, caprese, bolognese and pizza. Everything was delicious besides the pasta. It tasted liked spaghettios and wasn’t blown away with it. We also got the mango, strawberry, pistachio and hazelnut gelato for dessert. Mango and hazelnut were my fave!
Definitely try this place out not bad for $25pp for lunch with DineLA!
How good can the ambience be when the outdoor tables are set up in the walkway between the restaurant and Macy's? Had to eat on the patio because the Terra didnt open until 5pm.
Eataly is outstanding in every possible way. This hastily assembled situation in the middle of a pandemic is no reflection on the quality experience I've had every time I've either eaten or shopped at Eataly.
Front door girl could be little more polite when taking temperature of a person. Usually there is a discreet question “may I take your temperature?” Rather than just pointing straight to your forehead and scaring someone. It jilted me a little as I wasn’t expecting it.
So happy to have Eataly pizza and salads again! The only criticism I would give is the ambiance needs a bit more plants and maybe a couple more barriers. This would make it feel more quaint and help you forget you are sitting in front of Macy’s on a sidewalk.
The food and service however is exactly what it was in the restaurant. That’s why I will recommend going to the Il patio and visit again.
What a great lunch. Great oysters and a swordfish entre were such a deal! A $25 lunch at a beautiful spot with the freshest seafood is one of LA"s best deals. GO NOW
Food was ok I like the pasta and pizza place better but was ok
I was looking forward to eating here, but had some doubts as the reviews on Open Table are better than Yelp. Celebrating a birthday, we had a great table and the server knew her wines. But after that it was all downhill. We each ordered a seafood entree and the two sides one can order separately are roasted potatoes or broccoli rabe. All dishes however come with potatoes and there are no substitutions. Potatoes are practically passé in this health conscious society and we were greatly disappointed. So everyone asked for the potatoes to be held. The entrees arrived barely warm. I had scallops and was waiting for the server to ask how our meal was so I could ask her to reheat them. She NEVER came back so I ate 1-1/2 out of the 3 meager scallops served on my plate.
I noted we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation and again the server had not been informed so I had to go asking for a surprise dessert. Overall it was very disappointing even though the ambiance is quite fun. Won’t be back for the price we paid.
Fish was bland and portions small, but prices high. Seems they cut back. We ate there twice before and it was better.
Must be the $15.00 hour wage increase in CA.
Normally enjoy eating here but 2 in my party ordered branzino. While the flavor and prep were excellent, these fish were basically inedible. Whoever was in charge of deboning them was...on vacation. We both gave up on our meals after attempting 4-5 bites. What a shame! And shame for a fish restaurant that supposedly knows its way around seafood.
Excellent selection of seafood creativity presented. Pricey for a casual restaurant.
Open Table did not show all seating choices....we could only select counter or high table.
Regular tables were not a choice even though the house was early.
the food quality was spotty. the grilled calamari was not tender, lacking in flavor and not warm. the octopus was weirdly puffy and taste was just ok. the endive salad was excellent. the visual presentation was excellent and most beautifully artistically executed, but we eat with our eyes and our taste buds. I noticed that the co-owner, or co-host (?) owns Connie and Teds. I have found the qualify of food at Connie and Teds to be very high and very consistent. perhaps this partner isn't spending enough time at this location checking quality. i was hoping for a chef staff that had not become complacent. this high-volume, often-hyped west side eatery location did not live up to my expectations.
Really great food. Nice option to have the pizza and pasta. Service staff seems a bit miserable. Service isn’t bad, just not warm.
We always enjoy our meal here. We would definitely return.
Was there for DineLA. WHAT A VALUE! Food was delicious, service impeccable. Love EATALY!
Ulysses is such an amazing cook! So fast and efficient and all my fish dishes were cooked perfectly! Also our server was very sweet and welcoming as well as your female food runner! I will definitely be back!
given the open space in that it is essentially within a store the atmosphere is surprisingly warm. Fish (cod), broccolini and endive salad were awesome. Super knowledgeable server and decent wine choices. Pretty damn good.
Our first time and it was for Dine LA, their selections were limited and the food a disappointment. Might try it with their regular menu since many other dishes looked better than ours.
We had a wonderful time at Il Pesce Cucina! The food was heavenly, and the service was good, considering how busy the restaurant was. We look forward to dining there again on our next trip to Eataly!
Eatly is lots of fun. The Dine LA lunch was very ample. In fact the buratta was huge. Way too much. Swordfish and mussels excellent as was the bread.
Great service and delicious food. Seated quickly with reservation
Servers were attentive but didn’t really explain the dishes offered. Food was great.
Food was soooo good!! 😄. Would go back for sure! It’s a great place to relax & enjoy a wonderful meal.
What an experience; the food was delish and full of wonderful spices, oh my !!! I had the pasta with mussels and my bestie chose the halibut. This was our first visit thanks to the Dine LA special and we will definitely be returning very soon.
The worst spaghetti vongole I had in my life we were 6 at the table and none of us eat their dish after tasting it. Also a fish restaurant that offer only Thai snapper as main course grilled fish... it was also nurnef
Great restaurant offering very fresh and tasty seafood. Simple and made to perfection. Totally recommended.
Food is fab! Service amazing and lively ambiance
It’s was delicious
For being a fish restaurant, the choices were quite limited. Like 3 variety of fish with one of them requiring you order $68 worth. I think they should treat Eataly more like a food hall where you can have access to any of the ~5 menus in a a variety of themed seating area. They tease you with all of the varieties listed on boards around the counter but then have to focus on a smaller one that lists what they actually serve. Was hoping for more.
Very hard location to find. My Mom has mobility issues, so between the crazy huge underground parking lot and the distance involved in finding elevators and the bad signage, we almost didn't make our reservation even though we arrived very early. We then waited with no acknowledgement for 10 minutes past the 5 pm opening of the restaurant. Not happy and very hungry, we were finally seated at a table next to the emergency exit which was very cold because of the windowed glass door. All of that said, our server was very quick and very friendly, the food was absolutely superb, and the wine was also lovely. The calamari and pistachio pasta was maybe the best pasta I've ever had -- certainly the best outside of fresh-made in Umbria. The grilled yellowtail was also spectacular. The endive pear gorgonzola salad was also beautiful -- fresh and flavorful without being heavy. The desert was not in the same class at all, and the prices are high, especially for the wine. But overall, it was worth it just to taste that pasta!
Food flavor was disappointing. Portions of fish of the day were laughably small with barely any sauce. Pasta not flavorful. Will not return.
Horrible food. Embarrassing to our guests.
Never will be back. So sad
Great for business lunch and we liked the prixe fix lunch menu.
Great! Wonderful in every way.
