Get taken back to Italy from the decor, food, ambiance simply amazing.
Food is always excellent. Wild boar was tender and very tasty. Nice to get a chance to eat quality food that is fresh and prepared with care.
Great atmosphere Great service..food was good but way too salty..and I like salt..had the bucattini Amatrice..pasta was homemade and good..sauce was tasty but way too much salt..cheese cake was boring..not creamy or sweet...eggplant meatballs were good..Cesar salad was good. Very pricey for what we had...May try again ..
Beautiful interior good service hot fresh bread
Wonderful food. All that's needed are tablecloths to really create one if the finest dining experiences in all of new Jersey
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
Great service and food!
I had heard the food was excellent. I was sadly disappointed. We had a couple of salads for apps along with tribe and lobster and crab salad. Everything was under seasoned and the tomato sauce was very bland. Three people had pasta. All the pastas were undercooked and again very bland, especially the bolognese. I had a veal chop which was ok, a tad over cooked but at least tasty. I think the biggest problem was despite the food not being up to par, the prices are outrageous. Dinner for 4 was 300.00 and it is a BYOB. Those are high end prices and the food should be excellent not just average. I can say the service was exceptional. Finally we did have desserts and they two were not impressive. We had cheesecake and sorbets. Nothing special. Overall I never rule out any restaurant on a single visit, anyone can have a bad night. I will say, I might not rush back though for a second chance.
I so wanted to love this restaurant but right now that is not happening.
First the good points, the brick is beautiful and the fixtures upscale giving this space a warm and comfortable feel. The service was friendly and attentive but not annoying, right on par with the class this restaurant wants to be.
The food was well below what this restaurant wants to be. My steamed clams were supposed to be is a citrus orange and fennel broth, but all I could taste was someones heavy hand with the salt and not a hint of either orange or fennel did i taste. Could have been a great dish but was not. My wife had the beets salad and said she did enjoy the freshness of the beets and the dressing used.
We both had the scallops entree and I have to say this was a big disappointment in several way. First there were just six small scallop on plate, which were over cooked, dry, with no sauce of any kind and again someone had a heavy hand with the salt. The most surprising thing was they came with only a side of two meatballs on an eggplant caponata, which I thought very odd. This was a seafood dish and no where on the menu did it say it came with a side of meatballs. What if you don't eat meat? That would mean you had 6 small scallops and nothing else to eat for $36. It was also supposed to also have fennel but it had just one small piece of the green leaf of the fennel dropped on top. We also ordered the Mugnaia pasta to share but found it lacking in proper bite, sauce, flavor. I do have to say that the meat balls and the caponata were the hit of the evening, they were delicious. The espresso and the two deserts one the chocolate gelato and the dark chocolate sorbet were also fine.
I know they are recently open, I believe in March and from the reviews here on open table and from comments from other tables, maybe we ordered the wrong items that night. I always give a new restaurant a second try and will do the same, hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised on my next visit.
Second visit this month. Taste explosion for sure. The meatball are so flavorful, melon salad was perfect for a summer evening as were the clams.
Entrees of pasta made fresh and halibut was prepared perfectly. Deserts are ridiculous. The ricotta cheesecake with gelato is my favorite. Fresh coffees in real size cups finished off a delicious meal. BYOB is a bonus.
Wonderful meal. David our server was his usual wonderful self. He explained the specials and made recommendations. Just a great evening.
Service impeccable, food was superb. Top shelf all the way,
We have been there twice and had 6 dishes, all excellent. The best was the waygu short ribs.
Everything was fabulous from the service to the food . Great dining experience!!!
Once again an excellent meal and our server, Kristin, made it a perfect date night!
New place in the old Briosos location organic
First time there and will be back! Great food, not over the top large portions, but top quality!
Food and service was excellent!! The steak and spot prawn special were great. I highly recommend this restaurant!
My hubby and I had an amazing dinner. We love to go out to eat for different reasons. For me, to broaden my palate and my culinary experience. I love seafood and I am most particulate on how fresh it is and how it is prepared. From our starter which was the prosciutto and melon to our entree, everything was superb.
David was our server. Informative, engaging, great sense of humor. Attentive. The food was fabulous, everything about this restaurant is wonderful.
Awesome food and service! Highly recommend.
Dining at Il Nido for my Birthday was a special treat. Our hostess and server Amanda is always very knowledgeable about the offerings and she makes the whole epicurean experience marvelous. Whether you have a special occasion to celebrate or just want an authentic dining experience Il Nido is a must.
Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in NJ! I have been there a half dozen times now and the food is always consistent, flavorful and presented beautifully. The wait staff is extremely well versed and always happy to accommodate your needs. A true pleasure...
Phenomenal ambiance. A lot of work went into this place, you lose the fact that it is a strip mall. The wait staff is extremely knowledgeable about the ORGANIC food, the taste of which is to die for. EXCELLENT!!!!!!!
Amazing place to eat. Laid back, extremely good service and excellent food. Even the olive oil is the bomb (organic and imported from Italy, had to order some for myself)
Everything was wondeful from pasta dishes to seafood
Il Nido is a true fine dining experience. The owner is on site and is very hands on assuring that everything is perfect. The staff is amazing, the menu and cuisine is unlike anything in the area. Il Nido is a try, we will definitely be returning.
Outstanding food and service, as always!
Have to say I loved the Caesar salad more than my main dish but the place is so pleasing, comfortable, elegant and wonderful service. This is for a special occasion! Lovely
Neighborhood gem! Superb food, excellent service and wonderfully done dining.
Visited Il Nido on a Saturday night. The food was exceptional. Everything on the menu was organic, delicious and all foods were unique in taste & presentation. The staff was professional & courteous. The atmosphere felt like a small town in Italy. I highly recommend Il Nido.
Once again perfect meal, service ( thank you, David!) and atmosphere. Happy to introduce two more of our friends to this great spot.
Delicious farm to table dining. Best octopus I ever had.
Our experience was amazing
This place continues to impress. Love the uniqueness of the food and the Sicilian touch!
Very professional service and very nice ambiance. great food as well.
My wife’s and my first date night in several months without our baby daughter, we chose this place on the recommendation of one of my colleagues and it was easily one of the absolute BEST dinners we’ve had in a long time! I’ve worked in upscale restaurants all my adult life, I’ve eaten in Little Italy, and Il Nido’s cuisine is some of the best food- not just Italian cuisine- that I’ve had in ages. Gorgeous atmosphere and impeccable service made tonight a night to remember.
All 6 of us had different appetizers and entrees and every dish was delicious. Service was terrific and decor is beautiful. Highly recommended.
This was our first visit to Il Nido and we were thrilled. The atmosphere is great, with well-spaced tables and a quiet, romantic ambiance. The food was delicious from appetizers (grilled broccoli and Buffalo mozzarella) and entrees (monkfish and scallops) to dessert. Service was friendly and efficient. A wonderful evening!! Can't wait to go back!
We had a delicious meal. It was well prepared and timed well. Our waitress was outstanding and made it a pleasure to dine here. The ambience was perfecto and soo much better over the former restaurant. I would highly recommend a visit.
May be the most undervalued restaurant in NJ. Prices are at least 1/2 to 1/3 of similar quality in NYC, if you could find a meal as good.
