There are much better places in NYC for a steak. The filet mignon was fatty, the brussel sprouts were burnt. Service was fantastic though!
Great food great service
The Chicken Parm was phenomenal!!
Place is pricey for quality of food!
Unfortunately, I can NOT recommend this place and that's too bad the food is excellent, the service great. Two problems, The last two times I was at this location it was quiet [we eat early lol so it was 5:30] on this occasion my wife and I were celebrating 40th wedding anniversary, weekend. We are the only people in the place, very nice, but the bartender has a very loud voice and is talking with a few men at the bar and continually is dropping the F$^#$^ word. It was just so low class... My second issue is dessert [not written down so no price given] we both had Mixed berries with zabinou sauce [cream] which was very nice but $25 each for a dessert seems a bit of a gouge $50 for dessert seemed a bit high even in Manhattan.. We had enjoyed a wonderful dinner the night before at "The Mercer Kitchen" a Jean-Georges restaurant and dessert was $14 a person, it was better...
Loved the place and the service! We all enjoyed our meals.
Absolutely love Il Mulino Prime it’s top notch for fine dining
We went for the restaurant week lunch menu so hence the "good" for value. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I think for NYC you could find better options.
Wonderful dinner! Lots of excellent specials in addition to an extensive menu. Personalized service in an intimate setting. Clearly a popular bar scene also. We had the seafood specials for appetizers And entrees. Thank you!
Worst staff I have ever had in a restaurant. Food was terrible - served cold and had no seasoning.
Server was non existent wanted our order without asking First if we wanted a drink next interaction was when he gave us the bill food was excellent
Waiter mumbled through the specials (and did it again to neighboring table (they laughed at him). The food was bland (both the Dover sole and the chicken Parmesan, no Sides. Drinks were fine. Very overpriced and not a go- back place.
We e been to IL Mulino prime a few times. Always great food, great service and friendly staff. But, when and WHY did they bring in a tv to show a basketball game (half a screen) on a small wall by the bar. The restaurant is small and intimate, adding this sorts bar element takes the restaurant down a few notches. Disappointing.
The steak was very good everything else was just ok
Bartender was great as were the truffle potato chips—they’re dangerous! Food and service at dinner a little uneven. Dover sole not fresh, unfortunately.
Good food in an Italian NY environment. Just beware of the prices for specials as they are significantly more than off menu.
Came for the first time after being a frequent diner at catch, the staffed suggested I check out catch steak HS the food was delicious — def will be back for the blue cheese spinach!
Lovely, intimate restaurant with delicious, upscale Italian-style food and impeccable service.
Definitely not for your everyday dining.
It is on the very expensive side...
I had never ever paid $5 for a single glass of tap water which they didn’t ever tried to refill and at $5a pop... they did me a favor.
The food is exceptional and truth be told when they are already charging $67 for a10oz. Steak,i think there’s no need to try and do the extra un necessary charges.
The scorch out is generous enough to justify the price, the salad, Branzino and the meat are so good and of such good quality that makes it all worth it..
Even the self imposed 23%to on a 3 person table.
Ve prepared to shell out $100 plus for a one and half plate dinner.
If you want to pay $9.50 for 2 glasses of tap water then this is the place for you. Overpriced.
Our waiter, however was awesome.
Food very good. Service great. Small space. Prices too high.
They were SO flexible and accommodating. We have 10 yr old twins and they bent over backwards to make the mea great. We want back again the next night if that tells you anything.
Sure it is under different owners then the original in NoHo, however the food still shines.
We went on a strange day where it was not full so the staff was still attentive though perhaps a little sleepier then when they are going full tilt.
Everything we had was perfection, and at the price, it should be. This is not a "cheap date" situation, but rather a meal to sit and enjoy and linger a bit. Our good fortune also had it that truffles were in season and they were perfection, which of course will lead to a staggering bill. Still, we picked all specials and the waiter was happy to indicate a couple house stand outs. Solid quality for a little "old world" Italian food in a city that becomes more fusion by the day...so go when you want the classics done right.
I came here the other night to meet a friend for dinner after work. I got there around 8 pm and sat at the bar to wait for my friend. They have complimentary rosemary potato chips while you’re sitting at the bar and I also ordered a glass of wine. We sat down for dinner and ordered the burrata and lobster Mac and cheese. Both were delicious and they split the burrata for us which I appreciated. The service was amazing and everyone was nice from the second we got there until we left. Ambiance was great and we had wonderful time. I would definitely go back and try their steak and pasta.
Great from appetizers to main & sides. Host was very engaging & pleasant
Excellent place. 5 stars. Food, service and ambiance were all excellent. I will definately return.
Great food, service and Ambiance
Only 1 waiter for the whole restaurant. We waited more than one hour for our food, and we had 2 kids with us..... The food was good, but the service wasn’t.
Waaaaay over priced. The food is ok at best and the service is pretty bad. Everything seemed like an inconvenience when you’d ask (even for their opinion for something on the menu). Maitre D was very unwelcoming and rude which should have been my cue to leave. There are so many great places in this area, I’d stay away from Il Mulino Prime and try something else.
Excellent service from start to finish. Welcomed on srrivsl and remembered previous visits creating a great feeling.
