really enjoyed but sitting on the street with all of the noise wasn't too pleasant
Love the entire staff at Il Mulino Prime!!
I didn’t enjoy the service but the
food was good
What a lovely evening we had at Il Mulino. The service was absolutely outstanding. They gave us an indoor table in the corner by the open doors, which was the best of both worlds - fresh air but not in the thick of things in the street. They bring a complimentary platter of cheese, focaccia and pepperoni/salami, which is such a lovely way to start the evening. We were a party of four -- two 60-somethings and two 20-somethings, and it was just a perfect meal for all of us. The margarita was outstanding. Our appetizers were caesar salad - maybe the best I've ever had - ricotta meatballs - also superb - and octopus -not my personal fave but my tablemates loved it. For entrees, we had the papardelle special with oxtail ragu, which was very good - kind of wished there'd been salt on the table, I might have added a bit - and squid ink pasta with seafood, which was very nice. They said the seafood pasta was a half-portion but it was enough food that we took half of it home for leftovers! Also had the truffle ravioli, very nice, and a steak with asparagus, also very good. Not a cheap meal by any means but worth it for a beautiful, memorable evening -- we were celebrating a birthday and felt very well-treated and special. Our servers were just amazing, and they were very kind about letting us pack up our leftovers. We all went home with a little doggy bag and are enjoying that today for lunch.
Fopd and Service were mediocre for those prices
First time at this Il Mulino restaurant. It is smaller, more energetic and the food is the same great stuff as other of their restaurants. It is located at a breezy corner of Soho so with the floor to ceiling windows open, you can eat inside and have all the feeling of eating al fresco. There are also tables for two outside on the sidewalk.
The host, waiter, and busboys all were attentive. The four of us had a great evening!
perfect!!!! staff was extremely friendly and super helpful - definitely will go again!!
Although our food was good, our server put no effort into how he managed our table. It was clear that we were not a table that he felt he needed to be attentive to. In addition, he complained that he had to repeat a 10- selection special menu to us because there was nothing in print for us to review. He was clearly annoyed that we asked him to repeat it. And, I asked for a specific bottle of wine that was $85/bottle and when the bill came, he had selected a bottle for $110 instead. He never asked us how our meals were when they were delivered and took 40 minutes to return to our table after we finished our meals. He never asked us if we wanted dessert. He was more interested in a man who came in to use the restroom in the restaurant who was clearly not a patron than he was in serving us. We will not be back.
Absolutely outstanding meal!
The food was ok, and the service was not good. No comparison with the original il mulino.
The bartender made me a martini with a twist when I asked for it dirty and then when I asked him to correct it the lemon peel was still in my new drink. It was clear he just mixed in some olive
Great food, perfect location, fan of all the Il Mulino restaurants!
Food was really good but there were a large party of 20 when we dined and so we had to wait over 1.5 hrs for our food to come. Just wished that the restaurant had anticipated the large party better so that other customers are not compromised.
Would come back for the food, but will call ahead to check if they have a large party lol!
27 th wedding anniversary party of 6 uneventful experience drap service not very good food
The food was good - complimentary starters included bread, cheese, meat, and fried zucchini which was incredible. I got the wild salmon for the main - also great with a little kick to it which i was not expecting.
The only negative thing I have to say is that we made a reservation for Restaurant Week. However when we got there, they said they don't do restaurant week dinners on Saturdays. This was not specified anywhere that I could find on their website, online restaurant week menu, nor the restaurant week website. We ended up staying since we were already there but it definitely put a damper on the evening.
We made a reservation for restaurant week through that website. Nowhere was mentioned that it doesn’t apply for the weekend. Rather the opposite. The dates mentioned included today.
Restaurant did not honor it
It’s a small restaurant , restaurant menu was really limited . Loved the bread and cheese they give you from the house. Overal was great would go back for the pasta
It was good but it looks like they are understaffed and their waiters are too busy. However, we got a waiter who spoke Spanish and he was really great to us.
they rushed us
The food was delicious and the service was great.
Excellent dinner and evening. We are still talking about the steaks-- seasoning was superb and cooked to perfection. The wine pairings were a a great compliment to the meal.
We cannot wait to go here again!
Such a great place on every level.
Food was good but unfortunately service was relatively poor - compared to the location they used to have in Tribeca
Superb service, extensive wine list and complimentary charcuterie/bread offered.
Food was outstanding in quality, cooked perfectly. Will definitely return & highly recommend.
Great food service and location.
Terrific meal, our first at Il Mulino Prime SoHo. Asked for outside table and one was reserved for us, on the sidewalk. Perfect for those worried about adequate ventilation while dining. Service was outstanding, jocular but attentive. Food was tops. Wine list expensive, but wonderful.
We came here for a nice Sunday dinner before the long work week ahead. The waiter was very brusque. When bringing the wine to our table he was annoyed to have to describe the wine when asked about them. Also, as we were finishing our meal, the unapologetic staff closed the windows less than 2 feet in front of us and proceeded to shut the blinds. There was a complete disregard for our dining experience. We felt as if we were inconveniencing the staff the entire time. My main pasta dish was surprisingly good, but not enough that I would return given the service.
We went for Restaurant Week, which was a good way to experience fine dining on a moderate scale. There was a complimentary chef selection of cheese, salami and bread, which was lovely. As part of the special menu, a couple of us ordered steak since the restaurant was listed as a steakhouse. Unfortunately, both steaks were tough and had no flavor—much to our surprise. The salmon and desserts were absolutely delicious. Because the restaurant door and windows were left open, we could hearing the booming loud music from across the street. Overall, the dining experience was ok but definitely I expected a better steak!!
I remember the old excellent restaurant that I’ll Mulino used to be. Now it is almost like a franchise. The waiter was almost surly after I requested he bring the restaurant week menu that he neglected to bring at first. The steak was thin and ordinary. Ambiance at this “storefront” location was modern to the point of nonexistent. Poor value even at discounted price. I was quite disappointed and believe you will be as well. Get a steak at a real steakhouse. I’ll Mulino no longer deserves the brand name of I’ll Mulino of yesteryear.
I have been going to IL Mulino for years especially when you were popular. On Tuesday July 20th,7:15 reservation Tarantino, my wife and kids went there with their significant others to celebrate my son's birthday. Well it was a disaster. They were rushed to make selections on food and when it came to the wine not one but three different people came over and tried to hurry up the process changing pages while they read the wine menu. To say they got the bums rush is an understatement. i called the following day and spoke to Elana sorry if I got her name wrong, she said she was sorry for the experience and that her supervisor would get back to me. Guess what still no response I called back today spoke to her and she was shocked that no one has gotten back to me. Well to me that just means IL MULINO DOESN"T CARE. In the current environment with the NYC coming back we all try to help but I guess you guys think you don't need us so when I get asked about my review I will give it.
The service was outstanding- we were greeted with a smile and felt extremely welcomed. The complimentary starters were amazing, and the entrees did not disappoint. If you’re looking for a special occasion restaurant, this is as good as it gets.
Service, food and dining was excellent!!! Great night out!
Excellent food and service - great atmosphere - will definitely go back
Sunday in the city with the family. Fantastic meal!!
Nice small place, simple food simply prepared.
We went to Il Mulino Prime for my twins’ birthday. The food and service were fantastic. I had a pasta special with lamb ragu that was delicious! The restaurant was a little smaller than I expected, but it’s pretty and great for people watching in Soho.
Food and service were absolutely top notch. There was attention to details that added just the right touch. Wonderful meal, can’t wait to go back.
The service was despicable and the food was a shame... way to expensive for what it was! We were actually shocked how overpriced the food was! extremely disappointed and would definitely not recommend this place. $4.95 for 1 oyster I mean are they nuts???? And don't get me started on the sides and meat...!
I felt robbed leaving this place.
Service and sommelier were good, but steak was poor. Grisly steak and disappointing, this does not live up to quality of Il Mulino. I do not recommend.
