Il Mulino Prime - SoHo
Savor prime dry-aged meats and inspired Italian cuisine at our modern SoHo steakhouse. Sun-dappled by day and sophisticated by night, Il Mulino Prime is a versatile venue that is easily customized for any crowd or occasion.
Only 1 waiter for the whole restaurant. We waited more than one hour for our food, and we had 2 kids with us..... The food was good, but the service wasn’t.
Waaaaay over priced. The food is ok at best and the service is pretty bad. Everything seemed like an inconvenience when you’d ask (even for their opinion for something on the menu). Maitre D was very unwelcoming and rude which should have been my cue to leave. There are so many great places in this area, I’d stay away from Il Mulino Prime and try something else.
Excellent service from start to finish. Welcomed on srrivsl and remembered previous visits creating a great feeling.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner and all five of us could not resist their daily specials. Off the charts fantastic. Three teenage kids could not stop talking about their “Thanksgiving dinner”. Must be doing something right...
The place is awesome and the staff is friendly and awesome!!!!! Elvis and Eddie are great!!!!
Cute place. Delicious food. Got a little loud with people at the bar- it was a select group obnoxiously celebrating something
Super expensive, ~$350 for a meal for two, appetizer, dessert and a cocktail and glass of wine each. Although the food was really good, I think the food was real expensive and I usually only spend that much money once in a while. I rather go to an old fashioned steakhouse and spend less and feel totally full after. My family likes to put it away. Only go if you are looking to impress or a special occasion. Its dumb expensive.
If you like neighborhood, bustling stylish italian bistro with excellent food and great service and you are not afraid to spend what it takes to deliver that....then this is the place!
It is too expensive. It does not worth how expensive it is
The food was bland - nothing special. The Milanese was too crunchy and did not have flavor, and the pasta was nothing special. The waiter did not know the menu particularly well, and the service was poor. We had to ask for a menu multiple times just to be able to order. The host was not particularly welcoming. Will not recommend to anyone.
This place is the gold standard. Steaks are so good there’s no sauce needed. Fresh made pastas daily. I love this place. Never a bad time.
This place is pretty small. Nowhere to put jackets or big purses. Wednesday steak deal is great. Can’t speak on regular menu. Overall had a great night there prefacing for haunted house up the street. Great location close to the train.
Service was great and food amazing as always . We always try to have dinner at Mulino when we visit New York .
Food is "Outstanding" but BEWARE the long list of unwritten [unpriced] specials.
Meals are VERY good, but a "pasta" dish for $48 seemed pricy
Also my dessert of a small bowl of "mixed berries" with some zabaione [cream] was $25 [Dude!]
The service was wonderful, they just need to Print and PRICE all the specials
Buyer BEWARE. Still excellent place, even though dinner for two [no drinks] was $230
Excellent experience, great food in an open and airy dining room. It was lunchtime on a sunny fall day at n NYC and the ambiance and food were perfect.
We made the reservation after dining at all of the other il mulinos and seeing a prix fix menu on the website. Upon our arrival for our 1pm mid-week reservation, there was one table occupied. The staff was nonchalant and detached as we were seated. The menu presented did not include the prix fix. We asked for it and without comment, the waiter returned with a second "Lunch Menu". It did not include the prix fix. His response was that there was no prix fix. We told him the website, as of that very morning, showed a prix-fix. With a huff and puff, he presented a printed copy of the website menu. Our order had included the soup choice. He left, came back and announced there was no soup as this was not really the menu. This attitude continued through to the dessert which he slung onto the table as he breezed by. The place still had only one or two tables occupied. Very disappointing - Don't waste your time there - too many other good choices in the area.I emailed the restaurant - no response. This was a birthday celebration.
We dined here on a whim after visiting an exhibit nearby. The bar looked good and the menu sounded great. We were not disappointed! Fantastic food, excellent service. Will definitely return!
As always it was perfectly delicious! It is always the same and exactly what we are in the mood for!
Fantastic as usual
Excellent all around! Had to wait a few minutes for our table and received a glass of champagne as we waited! Enjoyed a fabulous bottle of wine, appetizers and wonderful main dishes! This is an extraordinary restaurant with superior food, a great vibe and good looking people!
Way to dark,Service slow nothing like the other location Il Mullins we were so disappointed as we make it a point to eat at a Il Malino when we travel
Been to several Il Mulino, this was worst experience. So so food, spotty, infrequent service compared to other Il Mulino restaurants. Food overall very average, overall underwhelmed.
fantastic!!!!!!! The wine was great, food outstanding, and service lovely!
We went to Wednesday steak night....lots of great food....after the usual cheese, pepperoni, etc they give you we had 2 different delicious salads and pastas....the steak was perfect with 3 sides and then 2 desserts.....the cheese cake was great for $54...
THe problem is the wine list....very long but the most inexpensive wine was $90....we got a good red wine for $100.....even the high end restaurants have more than a few bottles for much less and a cosmopolitan was $21....Some patrons will not return if they feel they are being taken. So a $54 great dinner cost us $120 each...
The service, however, was impeccaable......come on lower those wine prices.
Our waiter and food were fantastic - very happy! Only complaints were that the music was really loud to start the night - too loud, and the French 75’s we ordered were pretty warm. Otherwise, would come back any time.
This dinner experience was exceptionally bad.
The service, the food, the noise level... everything from start to finish was very, very low quality.
Service - The waiter couldn’t have cared less about us. Took forever to speak with us. Couldn’t recommend anything. And rarely came by the table throughout the meal.
Food - The wine pours were tiny. The crab cake was way (way) too much filler. The beef tartar was too salty to eat. The halibut entree was burnt to a crisp, as were the $16 Brussel sprouts - both truly inedible. The only dish that was “okay” was the frutti di mare pasta, but even this I’d give 2 out of 5 stars. Truly shocking how bad all of the food was.
Ambiance - I understand the vibe the restaurant is going for, but the music was far too loud. Also the music genre changed every 3 songs and almost every song was changed halfway through. It was as if someone had their spotify playlist plugged in but couldn’t decide what to do.
I live in Soho and dine out very often for both personal and business meals and cannot think of an experience quite as bad as this in at least the last 2 years. And at the prices charged, I will not ever return to any Il Mulino restaurant nor recommend to others.
The food and service were phenomenal!!! The staff is great and it feels like home!!!!
Very accommodating! Wonderful service. Will make you anything you want.
It was awesome. Food was superb. Service from staff and owner was exceptional.
Simply awesome. Service was impeccable!! We arrived early and decided to sit at the bar for a drink before being seated. When we finished our drinks, they said our table was ready but if we wanted a better table we could wait a few more minutes. We said we’d sit now and our table was great anyway. Shout out to Wayne, he was awesome. I’ll definitely be back.
Service was good, the food was mediocre. Low quality - price ratio. I had better food at the tribeca location.
Restaurant week menu was good, and the NY strip was excellent. However, the regular menu prices are very high and the wine list was astonishingly expensive. Almost every bottle was three figures at least and a modest pour of garden variety Pino Grigio was nearly 20, and every red wine by the glass was over 20 (for nothing that special wines). Hence my grade on “value.”
We went for Restaurant Week. Everything was excellent except for the noise level. I'm older, but sons are not and we all found it extremely noisy. This is a consistent problem in NYC restaurants.
Everything was elegant and delicious. My eggplant appetizer was delicate and scrumptious. My steak tender and perfectly cooked
My friend had the salmon, also excellent.
We will return for the terrific service and ambiance.
Customer Service was extremely poor especially for the prices they charge..
Bartender made the old fashioned too strong and when I asked to swap drinks they never apologized.
Thr server was no attentive and seemed annoyed easily.
Overall bad service and bad value.
Very nice servers, bartender incredible with the Rosa margaritas!
Food incredible and nice service too, totally recommend this place for dinner date!
Excellent service and great food. Restaurant Week menu had many options.
It is a bright space on a busy corner in SoHo - wonderful atmosphere.
the restaurant week’s foods are great. It is really expensive because we add wine pairing, but the wines deserve.
Overall very good experience between the food, the service and ambiance. The team did a great job helping to celebrate my wife’s birthday with surprise prosecco and tiramisu cake.
I would come back for sure.
Love this restaurant, love the food and ambiance will be back again next month. Was only disappointed this time by the table service we had to keep asking for water and wine :)
