Ricardo and the rest of the staff were phenomenal! The food was pretty amazing too!
Each location is different. This was on Greenwich in Tribeca. Poor service and mediocre food.
A great dinner at Il Mulino. Food was great and the hostess was friendly and accommodating. The server although very professional could have been done better. I've dined at their other locations and the service was excellent.
Food, staff, ambience was perfect
This was our first time at il Mulino in this location, and we were pleased to find that the food was, as usual for this restaurant, excellent in every way. The pastas are outstanding - we always get a mix of them. Veal dishes were also superb. The wine list includes many very good bottles at reasonable prices. The room was very attractive, although a bit too noisy.
I went to Il Mulino TriBeCa with the intention of ordering the Costoletta alla Parmigiana, one of the best veal dishes in NYC, but decided at the last minute to go for the English Dover Sole. The sole was perfectly fileted and was absolutely delicious. As always, the service was top-notch and the overall dining experience was exceptional.
One of my favorite restaurants to celebrate my birthday and NYC visit annually.
My two dinner guests loved this place! They both started with an appetizer portion of pasta, which they found plentiful and delicious. I had the Caesar salad, which I think is among the best in NYC—cold, crisp and tangy, with the perfect amount of anchovy. We each had a different veal dish—Limone, Marsala, and Saltimbocca— all claiming ours to be the best. It’s a restaurant with exceptional food, classic service, and a modern spirit. It is a great addition to the TriBeCa restaurant scene.
Absolutely incredible meal and overall experience.
Not the original old school il Mulino. Decor is new trendy minimalist but the food is still great and service exceptional and you don’t have to know the back room number to get a reservation.
Good for special occasions but too expensive otherwise. Went during restaurant week and had a fine meal.
Was my friends birthday. Restaurant week. The food was amazing, the portions were good, not too much not too little. Just perfect. The service was very good. There is nothing I can’t complain about this place. Price wise? I can’t really judge because I did restaurant week menu. But any restaurant that serves that delicious food for restaurants week menu deserves great review and I definitely will be going there again
OVER PRICED and definitely not as good as SOHO. It's a shame because I live in TriBeCa.
We have a wonderful dinner at Il Mulino. The food was so fresh and so delicious- The service was very attentive and we will definitely be back. Highly reccomend for a wonderful meal for a special evening, business dinner or with a group of friends.
Went for a family birthday celebration. The service and food were outstanding. Although it was busy we were never rushed.
The bottle of wine we originally ordered was not available but a comparable bottle was recommended and excellent.
Was seated at 7:45, had our main course by 8:11 after a round of appetizers. I get it’s restaurant week so they are trying to move everything alone, but ambiance, yup that’s absent along with service.
Now on to the background of our meal, Il Mulino is a place in the neighborhood and we have walked by several times since they opened in late summer 2018. As a resident who is an advocate of the neighborhood, when I walk by Il Mulino Tribeca any night when it’s not restaurant week...well wait for the crickets. The dining room is empty, as well as the bar.
Is the food good? sure it’s good, not fantastic but good. But the service was next to robotic. 28 minutes from seating to our entree.
Yes, we ordered off the restaurant week menu. The meatballs appetizers was a single, yes 1 meatball. The table next to us ordered the caprese as an appetizer off the restaurant week menu, and they laughed when they got a quarter or a tomato and piece of mozzarella as an appetizer.
We hadn’t even had our bottle of wine delivered when our appetizer was done. It took so long to get our dessert that we asked for the check sans dessert. Still took 10 minutes to get the check.
If you enjoy Italian food in a similar neighborhood, I highly recommend Osteria Morini or Scalini Fedeli. Both have a fantastic menu, with service to match. Don’t take my word, just google them.
Unfortunately this outpost of the original Il Mulino has tried to capitalize on the original reputation of Il Mulino on W3. Bottom line what used to be great, has decent food, with a reprehensible attitude and embarrassing shadow of what the original Il Mulino on W3 was.
Save your money, check out Osteria Morini or Scalini Fedeli and the food will be immensely better for the same price.
Excellent restaurant week lunch. Will definitely go back
Il Mulino TriBeCa is a great addition to the neighborhood. It’s a class-act with a modern feel and exquisitely prepared dishes. It manages to do so without being stuffy or pretentious. I like the classic menu. The veal dishes are crazy good, as is the classic Caesar. Don’t miss them.
It was good and fun, but not worth the price except for Restaurant week!
My friend and I were warmly greeted by the owner who sat us at a table by the front window. It was a cold night but there was no sign of a draft there, just cozy. The waiter was authentically Italian with accent & look, Moving on to the food...absolutely amazing. There were so many table bites before we even ordered the appetizers and entrée that we were worried we might not get through it all. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly! I can confidently say that I'll be back. Thank you Il Mulino for a fabulous dining experience!
Waitor was very kind and familiar with menu options.
Phenomenal all the way around. Superb service from Fabio, a clean, cool and quiet atmosphere. The food was incredible.
This was the best Italian meal I have ever had ! Energy was great, the waiter was professional and very entertaining, and the food was amazing.
Overall experience was good. We went for Restaurant Week. The Salmon Dish was outstanding but the veal dish was salty and skimpy, only two tiny slices smothered with mushrooms.
The drinks took a while before getting served to the table.
Tasty seafood and plenty. Good environment and service.
FOOD WAS GOOD BUT DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
The quality of the food was not worth the effort it took to walk to the restaurant which was no effort at all.
We are long time neighborhood residents and we picked Il Mulino for a spontaneous date night.
My wife had to send her plate back twice before she declined any other offering.
We enjoy al dente pasta but the kitchen couldn’t get her plate correctly prepared.
She is not at all picky.
My veal Marsala was incredibly sweet.
When making savory dishes like veal Marsala, dry Marsala is the classic choice.
Why the chef chose to use sweet Marsala is beyond me.
Speaking of the “chef” I noticed he spent most of his time at the bar sitting with a “friend”.
Our table was three feet from where he sat.
At Il Mulino’s prices you would expect delicious and properly prepared food.
That said the service was excellent.
From the hostess to the waiter to the bus boy they all were extremely professional.
Will I go back….. never.
Will I recommend Il Mulino to neighborhood friends and colleagues (I work in the area) never.
I remember Il Mulino from back in the day when they weren’t a franchise and prided themselves on their product.
At Il Mulino’s price point you can do much better in choosing an Italian restaurant in Tribeca.
Beginning of year business lunch. My expectation was excellent food, service and ambiance. The food was average at best, nothing special. The service was indifferent at best, even though we were the only diners in the restaurant. The ambiance was disappointing, in part because of the very cold temperature in the restaurant and that we were the only occupied table.
Food prep was outstanding
Drinks at the bar and table service top draw
Went for someone’s birthday & everyone enjoyed the food was excellent, Ricardo & the crew were great will b back thx guys the birthday girl loved everything
Food was outstanding but service left a lot to be desired. Not the service I have experienced at other Il Mulino locations. Rude/snobbish and scoffed at my friend who arrived first as they were annoyed they needed to set a table for us even though I had confirmed the reservation.
Wonderful service, great food, family friendly
Best place for a birthday dinner (or any dinner)! The food was fantastic, the staff was very accommodating and the dirty martinis with blue cheese olives were delicious!
Excellent food and terrific service!
We were there for NYE.
Dinner was great - however, a few weeks prior to our reservation, the restaurant called and set a very different expectation for the NYE experience.
In the end, we felt the restaurant over promised and under delivered on the evening.
Il Mulino is one of my favorite restaurants. I had only eaten at the downtown location prior to my most recent visit to NYC. This time we tried the Tribeca location and it did not disappoint. The food was marvelous and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere was fun as it was during the holidays and everyone in the restaurant was enjoying themselves. I always recommend Il Mulino to my friends.
If one is there for lunch you should get the lunch menu. I’m there with customers and they ordered off the much more expensive dinner menu not knowing there was a lunch menu. Felt like a bait and switch. Bad form especially with no other person in the place. I heard it was a ripoff and it didn’t disappoint
Food was great! Pricy as expected. Good for special occasion.
Love the traditional Italian food here.
