IL Mulino New York Boca Raton
We ADORE all of the Il Mulino so when my husband realized one in Boca had opened we were over joyed! We went for our anniversary dinner and sat in the very quaint covered outside patio area. It was lovely. Inside is beautiful too not too big just right. As always the gratis house appetizers were many and delicious. The wine was absolutely superb as was the food. Always a perfect experience.
The staff headed by General Manager, Adriano Carlucci, was so welcoming and genuinely nice. He is also an extraordinary person who is simply fascinating to listen to. Fabio our head server and his assistant Sammy were spectacular. I cannot wait to go back. If you have not been you must go immediately!
The food and service were awful!!
We waited at our table for 20 minutes before I got up to find the manager and tell him that we still have not received menus or have been assigned a waiter.
His reply was that he was giving me a free piece of cheese and a piece of bruschetta. I have been going to there original Greenwich Village restaurant for over 30 years with is fantastic and the first thing they do when you sit down is put bread and these two items on the table.
I heard from other friends how bad there Boca Raton
location was but I wanted to try it myself.
The were 100% correct!! It’s unfortunate how bad my experience was.
I would never ever go back.
We had a waiter that had never had the job before, apologized before we started. We had a maitre' d that asked if we placed an order when we were still waiting for menus. Wine was served at 80 degrees. Needed a steak knife to cut the octopus. Chef dropped one of the dinners and no one mentioned why a main course arrived in time for desert. Expensive and disappointing for a New Yorker that has been to the West Village for a great meal.
The items on the table are quite good. The bread and dinner is not good. Dessert is great!
Tried eating there 3 times..... never got good.
If you were royalty you could not be treated any better. The food was excellent.
No need to run to other cities. This will be my go to place for entertaining friends and family.
Pricey but great food, service and ambiance!
Very over rated
Not like NYC
We came back to restaurant because the general manager wanted to make good on a bad experience that we had back in August. Adriano Carlucci did all that he could to ensure we had a pleasant experience. And we did. The food was good. We sat outside so the noise level was fine.
Our service was awesome because of Adriano and a young waiter that I unfortunately didn’t get his name.
Thank you Adriano Carlucci for making good on a not so good first experience.
Food is always great. Treat us like family. Love this place
The food is delicious. There is quite a bit of small plates that come with dinner: fresh Parmesan, zucchini chips and bruschetta. It’s expensive but it’s worth it. The food is good and fresh and service, attentive. We’ll be back.
From the time we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted warmly, escorted to our table and service was excellent
In my New York opinion, il Mulino is by far the best Italian restaurant in south Florida
Food was better than ever
Very hard to have a conversion. You can't hear/understand what the others around the table are saying.
A decent take off the popular restaurant. Will be returning for sure
Although il mulino has delicious food, I believe that the size of the portions is not commensurate with the prices. A portion of pasta with garlic and olive oil should be large enough to satisfy one’s appetite when it comes with a $30.00 price tag! Pasta is the least expensive item to prepare! Shame on il mulino!,
We ordered biscotti the waiter brought out a dish with 6 small biscotti with a glass of some dessert wine for $18.00. Again, that’s a ridiculous price for biscotti we did not order or want a glass of dessert wine!, very presumptuous!
Sorry il mulino. I will spend my money someplace else!!
Awesome place & incredible service
Great for special occasions
Difficult to decide
Pros: Greeted nicely, shown to table on time, friendly staff, great service, lovely complimentary savories (parmesan, bruschetta etc), food prepared well and served nice and hot
Cons: small space is laid out so half your party has to stare at a brick wall for the night at most tables, extremely loud, only restaurant in Boca Raton I've been to that does not allow you to bring your own wine, house list is limited and very expensive ($85 for a bottle that sells for $17, multiple gets better with more expensive wines - $180 for a $60 bottle etc)
Bottom line for me is menu not special enough to overcome problems with ambiance and high price
Way too noisy
Difficult place to review. The food is excellent. We had the grilled veal chop, snapper livornese, truffle ravioli, Caesar salad, and mashed potatoes bolognese- all delicious. The drinks are also excellent. My wife really enjoyed the cosmopolitans. The downsides are the service (amateurish at this price point), the ambiance (extremely loud), and the value (simply too expensive for what you get). They face stiff competition, as there is no shortage of expensive Italian restaurants around. Some work needs to be done to get a 5th star, but it has potential.
All good except noise level! Food and staff were superb
Delicious Italian meal with friends !!!
El sitio es bastante ruidoso pero agradable. La atención es amable y rápida, el menu es bastante común, nada especial y la carta de vinos me pareció un tanto pobre y con precios elevados
Truly authentic Italian! Loved EVERYTHING! Antonio was especially helpful and made us feel like part of the family! Will definitely be back! GRAZIE
All the staff especially Fabio were excellent !
The entire evening was excellent from start to finish !
Adriano and his team never cease to amaze us with their great service , warm atmosphere and high quality , expertly prepared fresh food.
Can’t wait to go back!
Food and service was excellent. Disappointed that I was unable to bring a bottle of wine for a corkage fee. When I looked over the wine list I found the wine marked up more than normal. I will go back when I’m the mood for good food and cocktails.
Wonderful restaurant. Warm friendly staff and amazing food!!!
Fabulous food service class A
While the food was excellent our overall experience was fair at best. It started by requesting a bottle of wine on their wine menu that was not available that night. After being advised of a similar wine for a similar price by our waiter, we were then advised this second bottle was not available. Finally settled for our third choice. The waiter than went over all the specials and we all ordered. 20 minutes later just before I would expected to receive our dinner, a different waiter came to our table to advise us that the special I ordered was no longer available and would have to choose a different entry. I choose a different dish and when it was served it was not prepared as described on the menu but the Chef decided to make it similar to the special I ordered but with a different fish. While it was quite good I would have appreciated the opportunity to decide how I wanted my dinner prepared.
Really great experience! Food and service was amazing!
I went to this restaurant because I was told how good it was. It was my 33rd wedding anniversary. When we arrived st this extremely loud venue we were told we needed to wait to be seated at our table which was available. The “manager” needed to seat us. We continued to wait 20 min while he was “ scmoozing” w other people. Then he literally pushed us along to our table without an apology. It was extremely chaotic! Not one waiter. Several coming and going from the table but no one offering to take our order. Anything we asked for we did not receive.
1) croutons and Parm cheese in the Caesar salad. (Pitiful)
2) cranberry juice for our seltzer (took a few people but eventually came)
3) cold food but no one checked in on us
4) expresso with dessert (dessert cane expresso 10 min after)
When I spoke to the “manager on duty” he told me he’s not the real manager and preceded to argue w me about my experience. I had to ask to take salads off the menu because they were NOT REAL Caesar.
A guy did call me after my experience to talk to me but he has not returned my call as of today.
Very good choice, authentic food , excellent service!!!
The food and service was outstanding! I can't wait to go back. Antonio took care of us and helped me it a very special evening. Ask for Antonio!
We waited far too long to be asked if we wanted drinks. Then waited again for our drinks to arrive, which were incorrectly garnished. We were served appetizers of Parmesan cheese, fried zucchini chips, bruschetta and various breads. As a starter, We ordered their specialty truffle mushroom raviolis, which were in need of truffle aroma. Then we waited again because our order of the special salmon was given to another table. And when it arrived it was just ok. Not what I would call brilliant service.
Some really Excellent service and wonderful food !
Excellent food and outstanding service.
Best Italian restaurant in Boca! Food and service is outstanding!!
The quality of the food is good however the price of cocktails and wine is absurd!!
I will never return as there are too many equal quality restaurants to choose from.
Beware ,you will be ripped off!
