   Received a very warm welcome and felt that our custom was not only welcome but appreciated. The staff were so polite, helpful and very friendly. The service was superb and the meal was absolutely wonderful. Have never tasted Italian food so good it was absolutely mouthwateringly good. Simply first class. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure we were happy with everything. It is an excellent menu, in fact it is so good it is difficult to decide what to order. I chose the Gamberoni All'Aglio, followed by Spaghetti Carbonara and it tasted beautiful. The sweet was the Amaretti Amarena and was simply mouthwatering. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will certainly be going again.

   Whitebait and king prawns for starters were both wonderful, as were the linguini and chicken penne pasta dishes for mains.

   We have eaten at Il Michelangelo on several occasions, both as a large family group and as a couple and have always found the food and service to be excellent. On this occasion there were nine of us. On arrival we found that Open Table had not notified Il Michelangelo of our booking; however, despite it being Father's Day and very busy, they accommodated us with no fuss at all. It would seem that this kind of situation is something they have an ongoing problem with and have set aside tables to deal with it. The food was lovely and everyone in our party, including vegetarians, found something suitable and enjoyed their meals. Service was prompt and staff were attentive. We will certainly eat here again.

   So, let’s get the food out of the way. It was a lovely meal, everything served prompt, hot, tasty and well presented. The spoiler was our arrival. Booked through open table we arrived knowing there had been prior booking mix ups as I’d seen them on review sites. Sure enough, despite me confirming the booking and then re-confirming on the day we arrived to be told there was no booking under my name. To begin with it seems we wouldn’t be accommodated as the guy on the desk said they were fully booked but I stood my ground. After 5 mins a table was found and the situation was diffused. Touch and go whether I’d go here again, purely based on the seemingly lack of organisation.

    Booked via open table, who confirmed the booking. I felt assured all was well. Emailed the restaurant a week or so prior to arrival, who told me they have not honoured the open table booking because they decided they want a deposit, being a busy night. They claimed to have tried to call me - my phone showed no such attempt in my call history. The restaurant said if I would travel there and give them the deposit, they could book the table - but the time slot I booked via open table was not available. Their other options were no use to me or my partner. Joke of a restaurant. I don't understand how they are allowed on OpenTable if they blatantly do not honour the bookings.
