The food was impeccable! The lump crab cake was amazing !! So juicy and tasty 😍 the lobster pasta was super flavorful & the half size is big enough for 2! The lamb was my favorite dish! I added truffle mash potatoes & it went perfectly! The libations list was amazing! I tried a few amazing wines and the waiter was super knowledgeable ! Definitely going again
Our experience was amazing! George is a phenomenal chef. He has made our experience at IL Lusso unforgettable. The service is always outstanding and their attention to detail is impeccable. We highly recommend dining at IL Lusso!
My girlfriend and I decided to try Il Lusso for the first time by recommendations from friends and it definitely didn’t disappoint. There are other restaurants in Tallahassee with top of the line steaks however none comes close to the variety and quality of this restaurant. Coming from my girlfriend, the standard is set even higher on what we consider a perfect dinner. We ended up enjoying the split bone rib eye and two pastas as our sides as suppose to getting traditional sides. Our server was Jennifer and she was on point with everything, knowledge and presentation. Lucas also came by to check up on us as he was very informative and helpful. Together both of them made our dinner experience perfect, one we will remember, and one we will tell all our friends looking for the best restaurant in Tallahassee.
This place really impressed us. The ambience is nicer than any other restaurant in Tallahassee. Tyler was a wonderful server with great recommendations. He suggested the tortellini, which was a work of art and so delicious. I could’ve eaten an entire meal of the truffle mashed potatoes alone. My only complaint is that the steak wasn’t worth its price tag. Otherwise we’re really looking forward to eating here again.
I have been several times and this last time might have been the best. The crab cake was amazing, as was everything else. Starters, pastas, steak, deserts, service, cocktails, manager, I don’t have enough great things to say. Top notch
Great service, excellent quality and appropriate portions, from appetizers through dessert. Always a great dining experience here. Learned that if you bring a bottle of something from your cellar that's on their list they won't open it. Understand the policy I guess, but a $25 corkage is an ample charge and it kinda feels like you're being held hostage to their list prices. Still, for me anyway I've got plenty of wine they don't have so only a minor inconvenience.
Excellent food and service. Unique dishes and great opportunities to share.
This is food lovers' food! I ordered the Squid Ink Mafaldine, which has blue crab, calamari, clams, mussels, and heirloom tomato. They say the sauce is butter-based, and I was concerned it would be heavy, but it was light and didn't overwhelm the al dente pasta. Sometimes blue crab can be bitter, but here it was sweet and fresh.
The wine (a Chianti, moderately priced at the tail end of happy hour) was delicious.
The chocolate tort was sweeter than I prefer, but all else was terrific.
Nice place. Loved the atmosphere. Much needed in Tallahassee. The food was good but not “write home to mom” good. Will definitely come back for the atmosphere alone. Will definitely try other food options next time.
Il Lusso was absolutely amazing!
I can’t wait to go back!
Ate here twice this week. It did not disappoint! Delicious pastas, salads and apps. Extraordinary wine list and a nice selections of bourbons and Ryes, with some hard to find like Weller and WhistlePig.
Every thing was delicious. Will be back again when in TLH.
Food was amazing the service was great as well. Shout out to Christian for being awesome and super friendly.
Food ok and service was mediocre.
Great all around
very disappointed in our experience. arrived early for our reservation and was told somewhat rudely to go wait at the bar. was 20 mins late being seated for an 0830 reservation. took 75 minutes to get our food once we ordered entrees. when it came it out it was not all that good. slightly above average at best is being complimentary. well below average for the price point. I expected much better. steak was not all that great and under cooked. but after waiting 75 minutes and it was after 10 pm I was hungry and didn't want to send it back. wine was overpriced for what it was. $20 for a glass of wine that goes for $20 dollar bottle at ABC; again I expect better. only positive was cocktail at the bar was good. will not go back. new to town and certainly there must be better dining experiences in town than this.
The food was absolutely amazing. So much flavor! The staff was extremely caring and really made you feel catered to.
Outstanding cuisine, courteous and very knowledgeable servers. It was a busy night and our server made us feel rushed.. Otherwise a perfect 10.
The food is fantastic! Always our go to spot while in Tallahassee. Service is excellent. Our server Natasha very good with suggestions on food and wine 😊.
Delicious food. Great choices. Wonderful cocktails and wine. Perfect service!
Our first time at IL Lusso and the restaurant came highly recommended. We loved it, beautiful décor, excellent staff and the food was exceptional. Will definitely go back next time we are Tallahassee.
6th anniversary! Great food. Awesome service. Expensive but worth it!
My boyfriend and I went out to Il Lusso for his birthday last night and it was amazing. We both left saying that it was probably our new favorite restaurant in town. The waitress we had was very knowledgeable on their whole wine listing and was able to help us pick out a wine bottle that we both loved. The food was amazing. The steak was so flavorful and the seared scallops were amazing along with the suplí and Gorgonzola insalata
Enjoyable location, great food and the staff was excellent.
I've enjoyed Sage for years, and this was every bit as enjoyable. Great addition to the dining scene in Tallahassee.
Tyler was exceptional! He made the night memorable on my sons 18th Birthday.
Amazing as always!
The octopus was outstanding. So was the bone marrow. I wish the veal parm had been a little less pedestrian and the $6 upcharge for bread seems a bit high based on the median price of the entrees. Perhaps if they were willing to bring a few pieces without additional olives? Really just wanted some to go with yummy bone marrow. But many things, including the calamari were wonderful. Look forward to trying more things in the future.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Someone appeared as soon as one of us looked around. Order a few small pastas as appetizers or sides. All three of our (different types of) steaks were delicious, and we each thought ours was the best! We were seated immediately upon arrival. Our special requests were cheerfully accommodated. It was loud, but this may have felt worse as someone in our party has hearing trouble. I cannot wait to visit again!
$46 for the veal. It was a very homey dish. Veal in red sauce. Should have been $25 at the most
We enjoyed our lunch very much. It is one of the best places to hangout with family and friends in Tally.
Elijah, our server was very warm and patient in answering our questions and making suggestions. I am very impressed by his professionalism and sincerity. Yes I would love to visit IL Lusso again.
Excellent meal - probably the best that any restaurant in Tallahassee has to offer. You’ll think you’re in Chicago at a Michelin star restaurant. From the service to the presentation to the taste, Il Lusso is absolutely the best culinary experience we’ve had this year. Worth every penny!
was highly recommended to us, we were very disappointed in the quality of the food. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was very professional and was very attentive of our needs. The quality of the food was poor and the bill was high! I had the prime NY strip steak and the meat was chewy and lacked flavor. Not a quality piece of meat, my husband ordered the game hen and was very disappointed with it. My daughter sampled two pastas and said they were just meh. I would not recommend this restaurant.
I highly recommend Il Lusso..Our food was fantastic - steak done exactly as we requested . The lobster pasta appetizer was mouth watering. Wine list was varied with quite a few selections. Noise level was pretty high but that seems to be a problem with the style of open ceilings in many updated restaurants. There was one area that was much colder with the vent blowing but we requested to be moved which they graciously accommodated us...I can't wait to go back!
SKIP THIS RESTAURANT... SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. IN A WORD: DISAPPOINTING. WE WERE EXPECTING MUCH MORE BASED ON THE HYPE BUT I SUSPECT IL LUSSO WILL CLOSE/REBRAND IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THE FOOD WAS AVERAGE TO GOOD BUT NOT ENOUGH TO OVERCOME ALL THE NEGATIVES. SERVICE WAS MARGINAL, EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE MORE TABLES EMPTY THAN OCCUPIED (ON A SATURDAY NIGHT AT PRIME TIME). WAITSTAFF FORGOT MANY ITEMS AND SCRAMBLED TO KEEP IT TOGETHER. IT GOT REALLY AWKWARD WHEN IT TOOK OVER 1 HOUR FOR OUR FOOD TO BE SERVED... THE LAST 30 MINUTES THEY APOLOGIZED REPEATEDLY AND IT WAS OBVIOUS THERE WAS A PROBLEM IN THE KITCHEN. WHEN SERVED, MUCH OF THE FOOD WAS COLD. THE AMBIANCE WAS PROMISING BUT THE A/C WAS MALFUNCTIONING SO BADLY THAT IT WAS BLASTING AIR THAT WAS BLOWING NAPKINS OFF THE TABLES AND BLOWING OUT THE TABLE CANDLES. ALL PATRONS NEAR US WERE VISIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE. ONE COUPLE LEFT BEFORE ORDERING AND TWO LADIES NEXT TO US HAD TO WEAR THE SPORTSCOATS OF THE GENTLEMEN WITH THEM. WE TOOK TURNS GOING OUT TO THE PATIO AREA TO 'WARM UP' IN THE STICKY N FLA SUMMER AIR. THERE ARE CLEARLY TOP TO BOTTOM ISSUES AT IL LUSSO AND WE WON'T BE BACK.
Amazing experience! Food was incredible, service was flawless. We will be back!
Fabulous brunch experience- excellent service and inventive, delicious food. Will definitely be back soon.
Visited Il Lusso for a double date with friends. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the service. The General Manager, Ed, greeted us at the door, seated us at a table meeting our request, and quickly introduced us to our server, Tyler. Tyler was knowledgeable and efficient, answering all questions & offering suggestions. We each tried two entrees (rabbit rigatoni, duck, aged steak, and Cornish hen) and one pasta dish, as well as the lobster appetizer, and everything was scrumptious. Not a single dish disappointed and not a single bit was left on the plates. We also ordered one of each dessert, with the blueberry pastry and the salted caramel ice cream being our two favorites. We would unquestionably visit again. What a fantastic addition to the Tallahassee dining scene!
Best restaurant in Tallahassee by far. On par with fine dining in well known metropolitan areas. Friendly staff. Food, wine and cocktails all done right.
Great service. Loved the food. Our waitress was great. And the manager stepped up to help her. Great team work.
