Il Lusso. has the ambiance of a NYC high-ens restaurant in Tallahassee’s downtown. We love it! The Italian steakhouse truly has an amazing menu of homemade pasta & amazing
meats & appetizers. The service is exquisite. Kudos Il Lusso!

Great spot to take a date. Valet parking was convenient. Waitstaff is knowledgeable, polite and refined. Food quality is good - and fresh. We ordered the veal parm and the KC strip. Steak was cooked perfectly and the veal parm was delicious. Overall it was a great experience and would recommend to a friend.

The first time I was at I’ll lusso it was great. This time the waiter was snarky and my pasta was cold. Then bizarrely they brought a glass of wine 4 times by 4 different waiters that had not been ordered.

Wonderful experience, I ordered the Delmonico and it was the best steak I have ever had. I received my order very quickly and had a well-mannered waiter.

Both of our meals were good, which is what one would expect of a fine dining establishment such as IL Lusso. However, the price point is higher than many fine dining establishment we have eaten at. We therefore expected the food to be truly outstanding, and it wasn't. Service also still has some kinks. Admittedly they have opened relatively recently. However, given the price point it should be impeccable. We ordered a mid-range 2012 bottle of red wine, but were brought the 2015 vintage instead. I caught it. The waiter apologized, offered that they have not yet put the vintage numbers on the bins, and returned with the proper bottle. Again, the food was good (I had a dry-aged KC strip steak and my wife had the lobster ravioli as our main courses), but it was not outstanding at $200 for two persons.

Yes, this restaurant was amazing! The service was quick, efficient, the ambience is beautiful and the food would melt in your mouth. The wine selection was also divine, we will definitely be returning and recommending to friends.

The service by Christian was impeccable. The atmosphere is sophisticated and urban - Il Lusso has certainly stepped Tallahassee's restaurant scene up a notch. All the dishes we had were very good - some excellent. The Osso Bucco, the Lamb pasta and the Cacio Pepe pasta were standouts. We also had the Arancini, which were beautifully presented and delicious, two salads (both ok) and the bone in filet. The filet was cooked as ordered (medium rare but closer to rare) but the cut was not very tender and was a little fibrous. However, the overall experience was really special, and we will be back for sure.

Food was amazing! Definitely the best steak I’ve had in Tallahassee, and the pasta is to die for. Christian, our server, was awesome and made sure everything was coursed out perfectly. Couldn’t ask for a better addition to the city!

Beautiful space but food was overpriced for what we had. Veal Parmesan was okay but not worth the 45.00 that we paid. Steak was 60.00 undercooked and sauce did not compliment the steak.

Arrived at our reservation time but was told our table was not ready even though restaurant was only 20% occupied. Hostess suggested waiting at bar (an overtly obvious attempt at generating additional revenue) We ordered 2 cosmopolitans and a margarita. Unfortunately our drinks were unimpressive lacking the usual vibrant flavors of these commonly ordered cocktails. When we asked to have our bar tab transferred to our table we were told abruptly that was not possible. After 20 minutes a hostess reappeared and curtly told us we must pay our bar tab before proceeding with her. (Which had already been taken care of at the request of the bartender) Our hostess did not wait with us while our belongings were gathered and instead abruptly rounded the corner to our table looking impatient as we approached. Again the restaurant had very few guests with no one else waiting for a table.
Once seated we were not greeted by our server for an additional 10 minutes. Water was poured with no ice, luke warm into sparkling clean glasses, chilled water would have been welcomed. Our server was professional, but not warm or welcoming asking “Do you want to hear about our specials?”
We ordered an appetizer of meatballs, roasted pepper agrodulce, polenta which was flavorful but unfortunately served cold.
Our lobster tortellini which ended up being lobster ravioli also arrived cold and placed in front of the wrong guest. It wasn’t a big deal about the tortellini being ravioli however at such a fine restaurant a guest should be made aware of a change to a course. The prime delmonico ribeye was served lukewarm however was still flavorful and robust. The side of rosemary potatoes with taleggio fondue was also served lukewarm, with over cooked shriveled fingerling potatoes with a white flavorless cheese that was not melted through. The Rigatoni with swordfish bolognese was the only item served at a warm temperature and although appealing to the eyes had no discernible swordfish present.

We very much want this restaurant to be successful as we live nearby but our last experience was not good. We arrived on time for our 7:00pm dinner reservation on a Wednesday night and were seated immediately. It was my wife’s birthday and when I made the reservation I indicated this. We invited another couple from out of town to join us for this celebration.

Our server quickly approached us and took our drink order. The drinks arrived right away and then soon after we ordered our meal. The appetizers and salads arrived soon after. That was about 30 minutes after we arrived. We then sat there, and sat there, awaiting our meal. I asked the waiter if there was a problem and he said the kitchen was backed up but it should arrive soon. Well, to make a long story short, it was 9:30pm before our dinners arrived. It took two and a half hours to get our dinners.

I will say that most of the food was excellent (other than my wife’s salmon which tasted too fishy) but we were very hungry and frustrated at that point. The manager did come and apologize and said this was the busiest the restaurant had ever been. He did comp my wife’s salmon and the two sides. There was no acknowledgement of her birthday at anytime during the evening so we all walked away pretty disappointed. We had chosen this restaurant based on our first experience a few weeks ago which was very good. I hope this was just a fluke. If the kitchen can only handle a certain number of patrons then they need to limit the reservations they accept to that number.

Fantastic service (very knowledgeable about the menu items). Great location and ambiance. Very creative use of ingredients. Did not have any of the beef selections but a very impressive menu on that front. Very slight ding on perceived under-seasoning of cauliflower side and lamb ragu. Still so much to explore on the menu and overall very impressed.

First time and we will be back. They have been open since early December. Staff works hard to make sure you are getting everything you need. Husband felt pampered and food was tasty esp rhe sweep potato soup and the lobster ravioli. Drinks were very good. No complaints here

Overall I would have to say it was just good. Perhaps with some time it will improve. The server Roy did a good job and we liked him. But it took over 15-20 min to get our bottle of wine. We received the apps and salad before the wine. Steven at the bar was great and so were his Old Fashions. But the biggest issue for me is the same issue as with Sage / EXPENSIVE vs. the service and food experience you actually receive.

This place is a breath of fresh air for Tallahassee. Terry has hit another home run. Food was outstanding, kitchen was a little slow after we had explained that we had a show to attend. Otherwise service was impeccable, don’t always get a formally trained sommelier as a waiter. Menu was varied and interesting, we’ll be looking for an opportunity for a repeat visit to try out more of the fare

Took my daughter here while in town. We shared a filet with bone marrow topping and scallops with polenta and crispy brussel sprouts. It was awesome. I could eat that every night. Our waiter was excellent as well.

I'm going to be very honest because I Want you to succeed and this comes from someone who Loves Sage. First thing we noticed was the noise level was too much -- people at the bar (we LOVED the look of the bar and the lighting there, it was very inviting, we longer to go over) -- so the people having fun bantering at the bar was distracting/interrupting our conversation and we were far away from them down at the corner. Maybe you could apply something to the ceiling or install padding of some kind? Our service and food was very interesting and intriguing, fun -- definitely 5 star -- and, we Enjoyed being served by so many people, that felt like being spoiled! But we felt the tables weren't "inviting", almost seemed kind of ordinary nothing special so it was a disappointing sight especially stood out as everything else was working to provide an "upscale" warm feeling - so something to give the tables more "umph" appeal -- maybe a thick rich white tablecloth would work? And/Or a lovely glass candle or simple fresh flower? Our server was professional yet personable and we really liked him and his demeanour. Being able to look out at the starry lights across at the park was wonderful and we liked the high glass walls that had the vibe of upscale, luxury. Somehow the lights and soft whir of the traffic coming through the glass walls gave off a feeling of high energy, a surprising aspect for us (who would think traffic could be a positive??) So it's the tables and the noise level that we think should be addressed otherwise we think you have an exceptional and exciting restaurant and we wish you the very best.

Food is incredible. Service impeccable. My new staple downtown. Much needed in Tallahassee. I’ve been for a casual lunch, business dinner and special occasion. Very excited for spring dining outside.

Everything was plated beautifully, perfectly fitting for the quality of food produced. This place was amazing. It is pricey, but worth every penny. You can definitely tell the dishes are well thought out and executed. Trevor, our server, was helpful and attentive and the staff was great at keeping our table clear after courses. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu! (I wanted to make the most of the meal and decided to get several half portions of the pasta (cacio pepe, squid ink pasta, lobster raviolo, and lamb neck ragu), we also got the sweetbread appetizer, the ribeye, and potatoes). My only "complaint" would be that nothing was noted about my birthday other than the server. Normally places like this have special menus, or something. However, this definitely didn't put a damper on the experience. Loved it!

Tallahassee has long needed a steak house of this caliber. Great ambiance, great service and, delicious food! It is well worth the price of admission. The bone-in filet and the Oso Bucco is to die for. The bar area is great for social hour and will be our next favorite place. Will return soon!

Very nice atmosphere... great crowd... somewhat noisy but not too bad.... thought the servers were doing a great job... food was very good... only disappointment was the four cheese polenta was only slightly cheesy.... it must have been four of the mildest cheese ever .....highly recommend!!

Bar drinks and creativity are excellent. Bartenders are working to organize still and be efficient. Menu is great and every pasta dish is put together with great presentation. The steaks have been great each time I have visited!

A beautiful upscale place in downtown Tallahassee. They demand a credit card number to accompany the reservation with the threat of a $100 charge upon default. That said my party of four arrived on time and were forced to sit in the bar area and wait to be seated even though we observed seven '4 tops' set-up and available, including four desirable tables by the windows. When we were finally shown to a table it was in the noisy bar, which I quickly refused and they then showed us to an interior (no window for us) booth. Service was uneven as I was asked if I had already gotten my wine by the person delivering the rest of the table's drinks and as they we cleaning the table before the entrees were served I removed a piece of cheese to my side dish to consume later only to have her remove it with the rest of the dishes. I'm sure the service will improve with time and training college help.

Now on to why we were there and that is to enjoy a fabulous meal and that we did! We had Salmon, scallops, squid ink pasta and of course a filet accompanied by side orders of brussels sprouts. All dishes were prepared perfectly and presented elegantly. There is a price to pay such a wonderful meal so come prepared to spend about $75 per person and I assure you that you will enjoy it.

The food was incredibly good but for lunch it was pricey. I can see where the lobbyist/legislative crowd might not mind the price but it’s a shame that for a nice lunch out it might prohibit some from considering Il Lusso as a choice. Except for the price it was fabulous.

My girl friend and I enjoy fine dinning. We’re always happy to pay more as long as we enjoy ourselves. Il Lusso is an exceptional new restaurant. The wine list is extensive, however, I do not know if they have a sommelier on staff. The menu is large with a decent amount of variety. We both enjoyed our steaks, a filet and a ribeye, cooked perfect medium rare. We shared a salad, lobster bisque, and a half portion of pasta. All of it was fantastic. I would highly recommend this new restaurant.
