Happy Hour, Daily:
Il Lusso updated their menus with new starters, entrees, and sides yesterday. Some items were removed but the menu has even more options to choose!
We opted to try the Beef Wellington for two; it takes 45 minutes but they definitely nailed it!
We dined on pasta dishes while waiting for our entree and recieved complimentary champagne during our anniversary dinner.
It was another amazing experience and the complimentary valet made it easy to arrive and leave in the downtown core.
The food was well thought out with impeccable service by Mairin. If you find yourself in the downtown area, I highly recommend experiencing their culinary journey.
Overall dining experience was just okay to good, not great. My wife and I were placed near bar area which was not ideal , as it was very loud and had people standing over you while you dine. If you make reservations I recommend requesting seating not near bar or in a booth. Additionally, seats were way to close to other diners, this really put a damper on the dining experience. (We made reservations a week before btw. )
Otherwise, Service was good, staff members were nice and friendly. No complimentary charcuterie plate , but given two slices of bread and olives. Starters and meals came out at a reasonable time, but definitely not quick service as others have mentioned. Food is the highlight of the restaurant ; everything was delicious and had great flavor. Agree , one of the best steaks you will ever have. Dessert menu needs to improve however. Complimentary valet service is nice touch as well. All in all, with adjustments to seating , would definitely go back.
Best restaurant in Tallahassee !
Food, service, atmosphere fantastic!
This establishment is new in town, and had just opened up for lunch the Saturday we dined. Everything we ordered, save one item, was either very good, or excellent. Between us, my husband and I had
We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary and celebrating there was the BEST idea. The server and the rest of the staff was top of the line and the food was unexpectedly good.
Il Lusso is top notch. Excellent downtown location with a beautiful big-city feel. Food was well prepared and tasted wonderful. We arrived early and had some nice cocktails while waiting for our table. Service was absolutely perfect. From the hostesses to the runners, everyone was on point. Our server, Daniel, was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent service. Overall, we had a beautiful evening and loved our experience at Il Lusso. Highly recommend.
Beautiful, upscale urban atmosphere. Awesome for that special occasion or date, or if you're in the mood for some high cuisine; this is a destination restaurant. Interesting food concepts. Very menu item we sampled was delicious. Steak prices a little robust, but well worth the cost. Impeccable service. Tasty designer cocktails. A whole new level of restaurant class for the Tallahassee area.
Excellent food and good service. An awesome new place in town!
Wonderful menu! Specialty cocktails were top notch and the wine our server recommended was just perfect. The food was delicious and prepared with quality ingredients. Service was impeccable. I enjoyed sitting by the front windows looking out on the park area. We will definitely go back for dinner and I look forward to trying for lunch.
We chose Il Lusso for our New Year’s Eve dinner. The food was phenomenal! We even had our favorite waiter, Luis! 10/10 recommend this new Tally restaraunt.
We really enjoyed our first meal here! We highly recommend the blue crab arancini, scallops and semifredo. We will definitely return. The service was excellent.
This is must go to restaurant. Perfect that special night with your special partner.
A perfect dining experience! Drinks, food and service were amazing!
My husband and I went for an early NYE dinner and were blown away. IL Lusso is gorgeous, the service was outstanding and the food and drinks were delectable. It felt like a restaurant you would visit in San Francisco, yet intimate and inviting. Excited for our next visit!
Ill Lusso was wonderful from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We were greeted promptly and very courteously. The bar staff was amazing as they explained cocktails and offered suggestions. Jennifer, our server, was very good. She took time to explain the dishes and the preparations and offered great suggestions. The food came out promptly and was beautifully presented. Most of all, it tasted fantastic. You can tell there is a great pride in what the restaurant does. They asked for and listen carefully to any observations that we had to improve the experience.
It was a great experience and we look forward to going back soon.
We had a great time. The food is excellent. Excellent views and atmosphere.
Amazing food, excellent service and phenomenal decor! We enjoyed every plate that we ordered! It was nice to have the option of half orders on the pasta so that we could try a couple of them. We will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu.
I had the Cowboy Ribeye, which was very tasty. I expected it to be salty, but the romanesco was also very (overly) salty. The two paired together left me in constant need of water, which was graciously provided on queue. For the price, I would hope that a side salad and bread would be served with the meal. Except for a small charcuterie board, all items are al la carte. The wait staff and greeters were exceptional. The ambiance was delightful. The whole restaurant was clean and inviting.
Amazing place. Food was creative and exceptionally well cooked. Service was pristine, knowledgeable, friendly without being too comfortable. Perfect experience, which is rare for a place so new.
Overall a nice experience. Food was a bit slow in arriving & they forgot a pasta dish we had ordered for the table. Would like to see a few more cocktails & the dessert list was uninteresting & we were hoping for a wonderful dessert after our dinner.
The tea flower at the table was lovely as was the surprise charcuterie plate. Waiter was very good & allowed us time to decide. Nice setting. We will definitely eat here again.
The restaurant was nearly half full, as was the bar, as we took our seats. Our waiter this evening read off the specials and when he mentioned the 38oz bone in Tomahawk steak I knew we were going to be purchasing that as everyone's eyes lit up in curiosity.
I went with two half pastas, a classic and simple, yet flawlessly executed tagliolini cacio pepe (cheese and pepper) along with a lamb neck ragu mafaldine; and a third, my wife's favorite, the pork shoulder agnolotti.
This along with a small complimentary opening tray acted as our appetizer round. Many of you may think you'd tap out after this but be warned: IL Lusso isn't a quick in and out meal. It is a slower paced culinary delight which spaces out the time between your multiple courses making this hedonistic indulgence easily possible!
Our main course was highlighted by the tomahawk steak I mentioned previously. They presented the whole cooked cut to the table, to our delight and the other guest's intrigue, and then carved it up for us to share.
Along with the steak we ordered two of their parmesan and ricotta gnudi, two rosemary potatoes in a rich cheese fondue, and a single rapini with garlic and tomatoes.
The meal was excellent, the pacing superb so you felt full but not ready to burst, and we had a wonderful conversation over a great birthday dinner.
I will definitely be returning and when I do I will be ordering that wonderful semifredo, honey and candied orange peel dessert!
Wonderful food and modern decor.
Loved so many things about this place. The restaurant is beautiful, service is great, the bar was amazing, and the pasta was fantastic. I’d give it 5 stars throughout if not for one thing. All the proteins we ordered were over cooked. This restaurant has only been open 2-1/2 weeks, so I’ll attribute it to opening jitters but at the prices I expect perfection. The proteins were the octopus appetizer, one of the dry aged steaks, and the lobster tortellini. I will be back and see if my assessment is correct.
Loved the squid ink pasta w blue crab;
amuse; and Piedmontese pudding.
Filet Mignon not so tender but wonderful flavor.
A wonderful dining experience and recommend it to anyone wanting great food and ambiance. Service was impeccable.
Wonderful food, wonderful service. Great wine list and nice specialty cocktails as well as a full bar. Pasta, steaks, desserts were all exceptional. Prices were reasonable and it’s a beautifully done space. Glad to have this addition to TALLAHASSEE . We look forward to returning soon.
Food was Excellent. Great menu and feel. Service was good but extremely slow. Rivals big City offerings! This is a keeper and wonderful addition to Tallahassee.
We were seated promptly for our dinner reservation, ordered drinks, but when quite some time passed, we had to ask our waitress to check on them, finally received them and waited another 2+ hours for our entrees to be served. Definitely not worth the wait. We may try again in 6 months....
Beautiful restaurant. Service was slow but the server was well trained and did a great job when she would show up. The server keeping our table picked up and suppling water was there to make sure we didn’t need anything. We tried two appetizers and both were excellent. I had octopus and my wife had crab. Our meals were good. My grouper was delicious but me wife wasn’t as happy with her salmon.
There are lots of hard surfaces so the noise level is high. I’m amazed how people dress when they clearly state business casual I thought their business must be a car wash. Lots of jeans and sloppy shirts.
This restaurant is a much needed addition to the Tallahassee restaurant scene. I’m not sure why they require a credit card to make a reservation because it was not full. Maybe it would be full if they didn’t require this.
I admire Il Lusso for what they are trying to be; a much needed upscale restaurant in Tallahassee. The execution however is so poor that I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I brought a group of 8 people for a work function several weeks after they opened. The atmosphere was very lively, the decor was well done, the bar well stocked and the wait staff were friendly. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. We ordered drinks and starters to share which came out relatively quickly and were excellent. The crab in squid ink and the octopus were stand outs. This was the last pleasant part of the evening. After the starters it took no less than 1 hour 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. During this time the waitress was apologetic but helpless and the manager visited once to say the food was being prepared "now", it was another 30 minutes from that point. When the food finally did come out it was not prepared well at all. 2 of the steaks (at $50 each, sides and accompaniments extra) were cold as if they had been prepared an hour ago. The duck breast had an odd sweet/Gamey flavor and was tough, the lamb neck ragu tasted bizarre with an odd pairing of mint and ricotta and the salmon was dried out. Needless to say nobody in our party was impressed. We joked throughout the meal that we were going to hit whataburger afterwards. The manager did try to save things at the end with a gift card but by then it was too late. I hope Il Lusso improves and grows into themselves because the atmosphere and location are perfect for downtown business and government dinners. However, until they do there are plenty of better options available.
Worth the $$. Not quick service. But that is fine for this sort of place. Other tables had service that was too slow.
Incredible food, atmosphere and people. I loved every second of my meal.
So excited about this place!
Our server Jennyfer was excellent. Always ready to help with selection, but never intrusive into our conversation. All of our food, pork chops, lamb, and salmon were properly cooked and served hot. Garnishing were very tasteful. Drinks were good. My double espresso was pathetic. I do not think it was even a full ounce. It may have been the smallest $5 double espresso I have ever seen. With that one exception, I highly recommend Il Lusso for any special occasion. The staff is well trained in the menu selections and the service is efficient and professional.
Food was amazing. Beautiful location, bartenders are the best! Went two night in a row. Will go back for sure!
We had a pleasant experience and excellent service but did not find the food outstanding by any means. The facility has poor acoustics and we found it difficult to have quiet conversation as voices carry quite a bit and the tables are fairly close together. The salmon was moist and flavorful but nothing really extraordinary. It is a bit pricey but we plan to return in a few months for a second trial.
We waited patiently for it to open, and we weren’t disappointed! Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent! We’ll most certainly be back!
Really good food. Veal was fork-tender and delicious. Risotto was perfectly cooked and scallops were excellent. Friendly, attentive service. No pressure to roll over the table. Very relaxed
