Il Lusso's first brunch service was a delight. We tried their Arincini and Espresso Tagliatelle as our appetizers; who knew coffee and pasta went together so well?
For our entrees my wife sampled their Eggs Florentine and I tried their Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Both are great new dishes available only on the brunch menu!
The ambiance, food and service were superb! Our dining experience was phenomenal and highly recommend to anyone seeking a nice dinner or celebrating a special occasion.
Kyle the bartender was great, as was Luis our server. Our only issue, which was very minor, dealt with our original seating. We had made a reservation well in advance of the evening and arrived 25 minutes early (thus our opportunity to meet Kyle) and when it came time to be seated, the hostess took us to the very worst table in the restaurant (back corner by the kitchen door). We requested another table and were promptly provided with one that was great. I would have understood the seating choice if we did not have a reservation or the restaurant was packed (it was getting busy but plenty of seats). That little hiccup aside it was a great night and great meal.
Lovely lunch spot. Great service. I think the sandwich could have been a bit tastier, perhaps temperature a bit lukewarm. Very good side dishes however.
Just tried a new side dish at Il Lusso, their Asparagus in a Pepe y Cacio aioli that was delicious. Their pasta special of spinach tortellini filled with honey and ricotta and cooked in brown butter was a delight!
We loved this restaurant. We went for lunch and were extremely pleased by the pasta dishes and desserts. Everything is elegantly prepared and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. Our server Carson was very attentive and gave us some great recommendations, in particular with the wine list. The wines are unique and excellent! Il Lusso has raised the bar for the dining scene in Tallahassee.
Couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience— all the food was amazing, and the service was fantastic. A perfect special occasion meal!
Excellent food and service. Amazing experience each and every time.
Great service & food!
Il Lusso is an exceptional dining experience and, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Tallahassee. The food is prepared perfectly and the wine list is well curated. Every dish shows an attention to detail and love for the ingredients that makes every bite a delight: A caprese salad is a standard at all Italian restaurants but is transformed here with perfectly ripe heirloom tomatoes and warm, freshly made, cheese. The osso bucco is ridiculously good. The staff is attentive, knows (and understands) the menu and wine list, but is never intrusive. Il Lusso is the perfect place to celebrate an achievement, close a deal, take out of town company, or simply treat yourself to a perfect meal at the end of a long day.
The food is amazing, and the service even better. It’s hard to believe this type of excellent restaurant is located in Tallahassee.
Very average. Ravioli obviously reheated, had hot and cold spots. Salmon and scallops lacked flavor.
Neat atmosphere; it's a unique style that's hard to find in Tallahassee. They're going for the "high-end big city steakhouse" vibe, in my Opinion. I love Sage, the owner's other restaurant, but IL Lusso fell far below expectations. They claim to have a 1200 degree oven, but our steaks were barely seared and poor external texture. I was not impressed with the cuts of meat (Fileto and Ribeye). For the price, the food was sub par. The service was adequate at best, our server seemed to have a bit of an attitude and poor mood. Felt as though we were asking him to go out of the way to get drinks, questions, etc. I was very optimistic about the place, and hopefully they make improvements..
Delicious meal and excellent service - we had a great evening!
Our waiter, Luis, was so very attentive and listened to what we were interested in. He even spoke to the Chef about making a change to the preparation to accommodate my request. The salmon dish I ended up with should be on the menu as it was excellent! My daughter loved her dinner as well. We will be back on our next visit to Tallahassee.
Outstanding! The service was attentive, the food and wine delicious.
Our experience was great! The foie gras was delicious and dramatically plated. The Caesar salad was one of the best and most authentic I've had, and the cold tomato soup was fantastic (and beautiful). Meats and sides were delicious, as were the wines, and Italian themed of course. Desserts should not be missed. Service was great. Minor annoyances were how loud it was and how long dinner took, but those shouldn't stop anyone from experiencing one of the best places in Tallahassee.
Fantastic experience. Meatballs for appetizer, veal Parmesan and lamb ragu. Finished with honey semi fredo everything was spectacular!!!
Great restaurant and food was excellent. Came for an early dinner and the sunset was blinding to those facing west at their table, otherwise everything was wonderful.
Had a great meal.
Our meals did not live up our expectations given the pricing. However, we did have an excellent bottle of wine.
I’ve loved and frequented Sage and have been hopeful for this new location. Having owned a restaurant and bar I know how difficult it is to carve out a niche and keep quality control. I’ve had dinner and or drinks here now a few times but I can’t say that I’ve been happy with the overall experience. A couple of the servers we know from Sage and love them, service isn’t the issue, it’s just the overall quality vs price. I do hope they continue to improve and will check in from time to time but can’t say I’ll be back soon. We were just there this past Monday for our anniversary and I regret going.
the on-line reservation process was very user friendly. we were greeted warmly upon entering the restaurant. the physical restaurant is beautiful. we had an early 6:45 reservation but did not receive our entrées until almost 8:00 PM and the restaurant was not that busy when we first arrived which was disappointing. we asked our server several times about the delay and his response was "about any time". our wait was abnormally long for an early reservation. our table was the last table in front of the glass wall of the kitchen so we were in the middle of heavy traffic during our entire meal and it was exceedingly noisy. r overall experience did not meet our expectations. We are well traveled and have experienced many fine dining establishments over the year so we have a very good measuring bar for rating our experience. if we return, I will definitely request a booth toward the front of the restaurant
The ambiance reminded me of upscale restaurants in larger cities. Christian, our waiter, was attentive and recommended the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer! We loved them along with the beet ravioli we shared.
Birthday Lunch with friends. Excellent service and very attentive staff!
The only down side was parking. There is no Valet at lunch time, only meter parking and limited .
The staff was very helpful with getting change (quarters) for the meter and took it to the meter for me.
I really appreciated the assistance.
We had a wonderful time and the food was delicious.
Il Lusso was a real treat, excellent food, superb service, and a nice environment. I have Celiac so I often have problems dining out, there where a number of options, our server was knowledgeable, helpful, and the kitchen also was helpful.
I think we have found another fine dining option in Tallahassee.
The food was absolutely great. The service was fantastic. The only downside for us was that we were stuck all the way in the back corner at a small 2-person table way too close to a large table with a large party, so we could hardly hear ourselves talk.
I hadn't planned on going there directly from the firing range. I really wish you would have let me keep my MAGA hat on.
Service excellent, particularly for this college town where skilled servers are rare. Bar is inviting though entry way a bit open like a hotel lobby. Cocktails great and wine list decent. Tomato consomme was perfection! Seminole Squash Triangoli was very good - slightly sweet inside. Brussel sprout side was also perfect - not too rich with great flavor. Negatives were the prime delmonico ribeye not cooked to order. This is a fatty cut of steak that we prefer medium and it came on the rare side. I am sure our wonderful server would have taken it back to be cooked more but we were hungry. The cauliflower side was a bit bland. Big city prices, but not outrageous for what you get. Overall I would recommend and would return.
Truly exceptional. Nothing like it in Tallahassee. Service was top notch and food delicious!
I was a little disappointed that I made a reservation and basically got sat in the bar area at the table right in front of the door, but my server and the food helped make up for my less than desired seating
Every single item was truly amazing. That Cowboy Ribeye was the best piece of beef I have ever had.
The wine selection is definitely impressive. Daunting and impressive.
I can’t wait to go back!
Food and service were amazing!
Excited to see a new place opening in Tallahassee. Chic decor with a cool, uptown vibe. Our server, Merin, was super helpful and easygoing. She took excellent care of our needs and made good suggestions for pairing pastas and entrees. Pasta is definitely the strong hit. My filet was good as far as steaks go but nothing special for the price. One serious shortcoming is with the delivery of food. We had one of the long booths that limited access for smooth placement of plates which was especially serious when my steak came on an extremely hot plate that was handed to me to put down. Ouch! That said, I look forward to the next meal that will stay away from the steak and focus on the pasta and other entrees.
Steak was better than any restaurant in Tallahassee. Lobster ravioli and salads were very good. Service was excellent on Friday night.
Food was good, a little bit ordinary with small portion sizes, but with fancy names. Service was very good (excellent). Variety limited and not very much out of the ordinary, except for the names. The room was like a cafeteria, and not even close to intimate. There are or used to be better, even in Tallahassee. But it certainly was NOT a bad experience. While not going out of my way with praise, I would not "pan" it to a friend. The most disappointing aspect was the room itself. Next would be the food which was not that unusual or exquisite. For what it was, it was well prepared. There is a little better in Tallahassee and certainly A LOT better in other cities and, of course, in Europe.
Maybe the best meal I have had in Tallahassee. I have left both times uncomfortably full because it’s so good I can’t stop eating.
My meal was ok but the servers were wonderful. I was expecting more from the food
