IL Localino Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant was a gem! We were attending a conference and another attendee recommended it. The owner was so friendly, service outstanding, food amazing! Unfortunatley, we had to leave just as the real fun was starting!
I had a very mixed experience a couple of nights ago. Service was rather odd. We must of had 3 different servers ask for drink orders. (With cocktails in the $12 to $15 range, we declined. Again. And again.) The music was fun, but so loud, we had to raise our voices just to talk to each other. When we mentioned this to the server, instead of an apology and offer to reduce the volume, he said it was just going to get louder and suggested we move to another dining room. The waiter brought us a bottle of water to share with no offer to fill or refill our glasses. (?) After placing our order, the server wanted to know if we might like a little pasta with our entrees. We said sure. MISTAKE. A tiny portion of angle hair pasta set us back $11.50. The food was good and plentiful and the pasta absolutely was unnecessary. The server never checked back with us once the food was delivered. Then, once we were ready to leave, we had to ask for the check 3 times over a 2O minute period before we ever got the check. Unfortunately, the fun disco music and funny hats were not enough to warrant a return to this pricey place with lacking and uneven service.
Quality Italian food in a family- fun atmosphere.
This restaurant is super cozy, food and service are amazing. Staff is friendly and attentive. Planning to go back over the weekend.
Everything we had was delicious , starting with bread (nice and warm, a must for an Italian restaurant) the appetizers, entrees were exquisite and the dessert was just delightful.
Can’t wait to go back to try the Pumpkin Ravioli and cannolis.
Our new favorite restaurant in the Atlanta area.
"Energetic" understates the noise level here, and the atmosphere which approximates a 1980's disco (strobe lights, glittery disco ball, smoke machine) is fun (well, mostly). There's lots of ringing bells and happy birthday singing and oh, by the way, really good southern italian food. Our server was great and the kitchen delivered two perfectly prepared and delicious meals (eggplant parm and pasta with sausage and broccoli). Only small complaint is that the terrific ricotta cheesecake was served too cold (so we warmed it up with our espresso cups). Looking forward to a return to try something else on the menu.
I enjoyed my evening. My veal parmigian was good, my appetite was satiated, the ambience was fun. My husband did not care for it at all. He said his fish was overcooked, drowning in garlic, and cost too much. The aisle is narrow, so plan to weave your way in and out. The decor is as if a Chinese decorator did a dicso theme inside a western saloon. The music is 80s and disco. The men's and women's bathrooms are each one-seaters, barely enough for the number of tables in this place. The food is fantastically presented. Watch out for upcharges. They brought some very light appetizers that we didn't ask for to the table, and then they were on the bill for $13. The entree price does not include anything else. All sides, salads, and drinks come with their own price.
Four friends joined my soon-to-be husband and I for a night out; the friends were from St. Louis and Manhattan and were delighted with the food and the service. What a fun place! Energetic, but we were still able to have plenty of conversation. The staff of Il Localino is always delightful: welcoming, professional, attentive. I highly recommend this place.
Oh my gosh, where to start- Il Localino is beyond special, it is truly an amazing restaurant. Our dinner was surperb, from the antipasto, cocktails, bread, lasagna and bottle of wine ALL perfect for a wonderful dining experience. Customer service is welcoming and caring. Now what really sent Il Localino over the top for us (two business women) was the setting with music from Frank Sinatra to disco music with party hats. This is definitely a lovely neighborhood restaurant well loved by its patrons who had been visiting the night we were there (Thursday evening). I loved this place because all that we came in contact with had been so gracious and welcoming. Thank you so much for a great memory from Atlanta. From Texas
Couldn't of had a better night celebrating our daughter's 23rd birthday than at Il Localino. The owners and staff were so incredible, the food was some of the best Italian food we've had (reminded us of being in Italy) and the overall experience was incredible… so much fun!! They had roses waiting for her and made her night so special, especially the champagne toast the owner gave! Thank you so much for making Lindsay's birthday so much fun and so special! Can't wait to go again!
40th Birthday Party. The owners take special care to visit your table and insure a great time, every time. The food is great, the waitstaff is fantastic, the energy is always positive. It’s impossible to leave in a bad mood; if you do - you need medication.
The Italian food was authentic and delicious. Every single item we ordered - including the bread - was fabulous! The roses on the table were real, fresh, and beautiful - very romantic! The owner actually gave me a rose to take home, which I enjoyed for a whole week! Our reservation timing was a bit off since, unbeknownst to me, I scheduled our reservation at exactly the same time as the Inman Park Halloween Night Parade and the restaurant was crowded and loud. Due to the parade, parking was horrendous! But at least we were seated in the back patio room where it was a bit quieter. Lovely, quaint, romantic restaurant with top-notch service. I highly recommend!
Excellent restaurant, from the owner to the staff all were very attentive. Great atmosphere where you feel at home as soon as you sit down. The food was outstanding, the chef is amazing and can accommodate dishes not on the menu. Overall, the next time I'm in Atlanta I will be sure to visit and dine there again.
LOVE this place! So hidden, and so special. An experience that had us smiling ear to ear and now by far my favorite place in Atlanta. Feels like an old Italian place that you would find in NYC or LA, tucked away, that has been around for generations and that the entire neighborhood loves. Reminded me of my childhood and the special places my family frequented in our neighborhood and around LA.
