Chaotic and confusing with poor service. The only time we were attended to was with frequent attempts to upsell. No one bothered to ask how the food was, or to refill water. Alternately shushed for having conversations and told not to be “too serious”. We will stick to La Grotta.
Beautiful setting!!! Everything was great and the food was exquisite. 10/10
Absolutely love this place
IL Localino not only provided a fabulous dinner but an incredible birthday experience! The service was phenomenal, music great and such a fun birthday finale! Just love IL Localino!oo
5 star. Amazing restaurant
We loved the ambience, LOVED the food and the overall vibe. We will be back!
We normally LOVE IL Localino and it's our go-to spot for special occasions. Unfortunately, we were really disappointed by our experience on Valentine's Day. I totally get that this is probably their busiest day of the year, but given how long they've been around and how great they normally are, it was quite surprising how bad it was. First, our reservation was for 8:45 and we were not sat until 9:30. We went to the bar to get a drink because we had nothing else to do (driving up the price of the bill) and the bartender didn't take our order for probably 15 minutes because he was just so busy. Then, when we sat down and our waiter finally came to take our orders, we went ahead and ordered everything. We decided to forgo the prix fix menu since it was a lot of food and both got the chicken parm. Our waiter said "Your salad? And side of pasta?" making us think both came with the meal. But neither was included, making our bill WAY higher than we thought. Both the salad and the pasta were nothing to write home about and were super expensive for whar they were; we definitely wouldn't have gotten them if we'd known. To top it off, it seemed like literally every single table there was given shots of limoncello and a rose when they were leaving and we didn't; not a big deal obviously, but it was kind of just the icing on the cake of a disappointing Valentine's Day experience. However the chicken parm and wine were FANTASTIC as usual and the ambiance is amazing - you really can't beat it. We will come back for sure, but definitely not again on a busy night and hopefully with a different waiter.
It was great time. Food was amazing.
IL Localino never disappoints! Even on a holiday like Valentine's Day they hit it out of the park with service, food quality and cost! Never change; THANK YOU!
Went for Valentine’s Day. Food was great. The service was terrible. We waited 15 minutes to sit down for our reservation. Then we had a 30+ minute wait for a server and then we finally had a busser serve us because we couldn’t get a waiter. Felt uncomfortable and will not go back. Had been a fan of the place before this experience.
The food and service were absolutely amazing. It felt expensive and is definitely a date-night. The pre-fix menu has a ton of food so we didn't do it. Overall, everything was amazing, though.
Valentine’s Day dinner was wonderful!
Great family run restaurant with fabulous food and atmosphere. Service was a little spotty, but it was a very crowded Valentines night. The owners were fantastic, checking on guests and you just feel like family.
As soon you walk into this hidden gem of restaurant you feel like you’re in a wonderland of sorts. Every member of the staff, starting from the hostess to the servers are extremely polite and pleasant. The food is delicious. It’s true authentic Italian food. I came here with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day dinner. I had a reservation and we seated immediately. It was around 530 so the restaurant wasn’t nearly as busy as it got when it was time for us to leave. Enjoyed every moment of this experience. Will definitely be back.
The waiters were great very helpful the owner came over to introduce himself and is very charismatic and entertaining. I ask him about his friend Frank Sinatra. He told me great stories about him. The food was terrific; it was Frank's favorite. It was a fantastic experience.
Perfect, from the friendly-family service to the delicious food, this place makes you feel like you’re in Italy for the night.
Food is average. Service was good. Atmosphere is unique.
Fantastic I’ve eatten in a lot of Italian restaurants here and abroad
This is by far one of the best. Like your home with the family
A must do in Atlanta
This was our third visit to Il Locolino the food, atmosphere and service is always wonderful. If you are looking for a fun time and memorable food you will not be disappointed. The owners make everyone feel like they are special. Always a must when we visit Atlanta!
We had dinner at Il Localino for my friends 24th birthday! The staff was so friendly and attending. We will definitely be back!
AMAZING! From the delicious food to the amazingly fun atmosphere, as well as the hospitable staff and owners, we LOVE THIS PLACE!
Fun time, great food as always!!
My favorite restaurant in the world. Most unique place

Everything and everyone was beyond exceptional!!
LOVE this place. Amazing atmosphere, great staff, incredible food. Price was so reasonable!
What a gem! We had a blast. Great music and fun!
The experience was terrific, for three years in a row. Gail and Giovanni are wonderful hosts. The food was excellent. Giovanni’s surprise dessert was out of this world. The rose at the end iced the cake.
Fun, entertaining, great food and an all-around unique experience!! We go every year!!
Outstanding overall experience. Food is excellent and ambience is perfect. The owner is a blast and the staff is top notch. Will be our go-to Italian restaurant in Atlanta in the future.
We brought new friends to our favorite spot in Atlanta and it definitely lived up to the hype. Excellent food with tremendous service.
Birthday celebration and the food was great but the music was to loud for us. We could not talk to each other easily. The food was very delicious.
Incredible dining experience for any occasion... we highly recommend!
One of our favorite places in Atlanta! We often go here for Corporate Dinners.
Always a winner for a celebratory dinner.
Our favorite restaurant in Atlanta. Consistently great food and service.
Amazing as always!
Very cool place. Metallic paper lanterns, gold streamers, and instruments hanging from ceiling. Excellent food with a background of 70s/disco music. Food was homemade, high quality, and delicious! Entrance is really odd. When you open the door you walk immediately (within 2ft of the door) in to a 7ft tall tiered structure and there is no host/hostess. Feeling like you must have come in through the wrong door, you have no choice but to walk through the very crowded dining area to the bar in the back and find some to tell them that you are there. Overall a very cool place and I’d definitely go back. When the restaurant is full, it’s quite a squeeze in there. The tables are tight. Make sure you bring people you don’t mind snuggling with.
The positive is that the owners were delightful. One greeted us and another brought a dish to the table and was very entertaining. The bartender as we waited for the table was lovely and the drinks were very good. It is the rest of the experience that means I will not return. The server was pushy from the beginning to get us to order, even though our res was later so they were not motivated to be flipping the table. The ambiance is odd. It looked like left over New Years decor and for some reason they gave many people hats, but it was a random mix of sombreros and things. Aside from that, the food was highly unremarkable. The Alfredo and the Carbonara honestly tasted the same with the latter having bacon and peas sprinkled on it. We asked for a drink 2x before getting it, some cheese 2x before getting it and we order a side of meatballs and they were instead added into the Alfredo. No prob, miscommunication, but we asked for a side of marinara to be able to take them out and enjoy them with red sauce and we asked 3 times, two different people and NEVER got the side of red sauce. Then we asked for the check and it took a long time. They cleared the table in the mean time and tried to take everything, even my last bit of wine and our water. I had to intervene. Before the check arrived, our primary waiter returned and tried hard to up sell us and that felt so odd given that we did not even get what we ordered. The bill was 200+ which did not at all align with the dining experience. If it was super authentic and the service was good, I’d be willing to embrace the odd ambiance but it feels strange and gimmicky.
The best of the best in every category. Food, service, drinks are all amazing. My all time favorite restaurant!
