Excellent as usual. Very kind and efficient Brazilian waitress.
Went here while visiting and we wish we would’ve spent our last meal in NYC elsewhere. Arrived early and was told to take a seat at the bar. While waiting we saw that The manager was flustered and arguing with guests over coat checks and reservations. The manager handed people the wrong coats and sometimes someone else’s coat. Red flag one.
Once seated, a waiter came and provided us drinks and menu. Went through the specials very quickly and didn’t allow us to ask questions and if we did he was clearly frustrated at repeating himself. Red flag two.
Other reviews say the food is bland, but Our food was over spiced. Our fish was soaked in vinegar and our pasta was just okay. I had to send back one of the specials because it was so salty that I couldn’t taste anything. Nothing special about the food or drinks.
All in all, this is not a place I would recommend. We spent a good amount of money and if we could do it over again I would have spent elsewhere. We ate $2 pizza that was better than this place.
First rate, as always.
Thoroughly an outstanding experience! The meal, ambiance & service were beyond impeccable! The meal was absolutely delicious. We were going to the Christmas Show at Radio City so within walking distance and not your typical "kid friendly" restaurant and though our 12 yr old daughter was the only “young” person in the restaurant they treated us with such kindness and she loved being treated like such a young lady. They catered to her and to us and we felt like we were the only ones in the dining room. It was truly a spectacular evening. Miguel our head waiter was out of this world! Watching the teams of staff serve was a true delight and it is an art form at Il Gattopardo. Il Gattopardo is a true NYC classic! Cannot wait to go back. Thank you for making our quintessential New York Christmas weekend complete.
Wonderful and special experience. Wine and food exceptional.
The service here is second to none. It started while we were seated over in the bar area while waiting for a table. We never caught her name, wish we had of but she was fun, caring and seemed sincere in enjoying having us there. It continued on from there when we got seated at our table. Food is great, service is remarkable.
Great food, great service, wine list is good but inflated even for Manhattan
Food was fabulous and the waiter was very attentive. However we had to sit in the back by the kitchen. Also a bit loud, but we could carry on a conversation very well. Venison was wonderful with a great sauce. Risotto was cooked to perfection.
I had the best veal scallopine that I’ve ever had, even in Italy. Scrumptious.
We had a fabulous dinner here and would heartily recommend Il Gattorpardo to anyone who loves Italian cuisine. We will most definitely return on our next visit. Yes, it was packed and the noise level was "not quiet" but, again, it's NYC leading up to the holidays, and...well... excellence attracts crowds. We're over 60 and we were comfortably seated, the service was attentive and prompt without being overbearing, the food was over the top, and even with cocktails, 2 appetizers, dinner, a bottle of wine and dessert and coffee we felt the price was equitable for the quality. And the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, Radio City, and all the other seasonal festivities are within a stone's throw.
Wonderful hidden place
Fuori NY...dentro Italia, in tutte le sue sfumature. Tappa obbligata per chi vuole riconciliarsi con i sapori della “nostra” terra.
set in a beautiful former townhouse, this restaurant is so pretty and serene. Great service, food, live background music. Just loved it...!
What a find!!! My daughter, cousins, and I made reservations via OpenTable and had a LOVELY evening filled with amazing service, food, and wine!!!
Best dinner we had on our recent visit to NYC! The service and food are out of this world. I highly recommend!
ALWAYS the most delicious food and wonderfully gracious service
Amazing food. Amazing service
Amazing service and food!
Service excellent, food disappointing especially for what it costs. nothing imaginative, nor especially pleasing to the eye.
Coming here for years
Consistently good service and food
Love the new little bar area!
This is a favorite stop for us in Manhattan. The food is always incredible. Order multiple courses and explore the wine list. The staff is personable and professional. We make this stop whenever in town.
Great food and service
I was meeting my husband and daughter for dinner when at the last minute my son and 2 friends decided to join us. The manager was able to accommodate us and gave us a beautiful table. The wait staff was attentive, the food was delicious and the desserts were fabulous. We will be going here again!
I’m reluctant to write how great this place is. It is already very busy and I want to be able to get a table there next time.
One of my go to places. Food never disappoints and the service is excellent. The right amount of liveliness while still being able to have a conversation at your table. Great spot.
Very good food. Very expensive. Not for a casual Sunday night dinner but a nice place to entertain clients.
Great find with great food! We stopped in for a Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The ravioli was delicate and delicious. Would definitely recommend!
One of the most delicious and romantic brunches in New York. We have been there on each of our yearly visits to New York. It only got better the second time. The best truffles shaved right on top of some spectacular pasta. Fresh Brazino fish finished off right at the table. Excellent service, three waiters taking care of all our needs. A great wine selection and service. I would go back tomorrow.
Was recommended by the concierge at the nearby Warwick. What a mistake. This restaurant is Way Overpriced. First bad impression was a rude manager who insisted I sit in a certain chair in a four person table. Tried three times to make me sit in a certain chair. There were only two of us in the party. I didn’t want to sit in that chair because it was right next to a loud party of four people.
The veal and buffalo ravioli ($30) first dish was cold, salty and tasted like dog food. The ravioli was rubbery and chewy. Tasted something out of a can. The main dish of halibut ($50) was soaked in lemon juice so strong that all you tasted was lemon juice. The vegetables under the halibut were soggy and limp and tasted like, you guessed it, lemon juice. I told the waiter to tell the cook about the ravioli and he said he would tell the manager. The manager never came out to talk to me about it but the did comp. that off the bill. I ordered a Bloody Mary that was watered down man.
Service was almost so annoying. About 8 guys standing around waiting for you to appear to be through with a portion of your food to take your dish and clear the table. I had to tell the waiter three times I was not through. I was trying to slowly eat the halibut.
With so many great restaurants in Manhattan- skip this one.....
Our second time at this restaurant while in NY and simply wonderful both times. Expensive, but it's New York. Waiter knowledgeable and friendly, great service, overall a lovely evening. I had the venison osso bucco which was superb and my wife had lasagna, also great. Cannot go wrong here.
Amazing food and exceptional service....
The service is perfect. Very nice people and nice food options.
This excellent restaurant continues to please with old favorites (like the wonderful tomato and cucumber salad and Neopolitan meat loaf) as well as creative specials. The service is professional and warm without being cloying and the wine list is great.
it is convenint for after theatre and close to our flat in NY. not a great value for the $ but there are limited choices in the area that are quiet enought to have a conversation and are open late.
This restaurant has been highly recommended by friends and it was awesome! Everything from the staff to the dishes and the ambiance was perfect! I expect to be back soon when I will be in Nyc! Thank you for this lovely dinner Dear Luigi and all your team!
Really special. Great staff, lovely evening.
My wife’s pasta was excellent. My special seafood risotto had wonderful flavor but the rice was undercooked. It was on the raw side of al dente. My meatball antipasto lacked adequate flavor. It was a bit dry. I’m not sure the cooking method is effective. The meatballs were wrapped in cabbage leaves. I think the chef over thought his dish here. Dessert was a pastiera. This was served warm. The dessert was too soft. It would be better served cold.
I was disappointed. Perhaps the restaurant is strained by its popularity. It wouldn’t be the first time. Service was efficient but lacked warmth. Not what you expect at an Italian restaurant. Hopefully, they will find their center.
