We had not dined at Il Gattopardo in quite some time. I forgot what an excellent restaurant it is. The menu is varied and reasonably priced for NYC. All appetizers and entrees we had were well prepared and amply portioned. The wait staff was also on its game. A very nice evening at a convenient midtown location.

We had the burrata and tomato special and it was amazing. It was served with roasted peppers, very tasty. I had the branzino special, extremely moist, sweet and deboned, perfect. My husband had the veal scallopini which was also very well done. The waiter recommended an amazing Sicilian wine that matched perfectly. Great restaurant, can’t wait to go back.

This was a remarkable experience... from the food to the service to the ambiance. We attended the Jazz Brunch, the entertainment was at an appropriate noise level and the musicians were talented. We shared the burrata appetizer with roasted peppers and tomatoes, which was delicious. My partner and I were both delighted with our main course choices, the eggs Benedict and the spaghetti alla carbonara, respectively and we shared the zabaglione with fresh berries for dessert. Can't wait to return!

The meatball appetizer was fantastic as was the ravioli. Entree choices a little limited and small portions but the taste was great. Be prepared to spend at least $75 on a bottle of wine. Service was superb. Overall, pricey but if that is not an issue, highly recommended.

Quite good and interesting Italian cooking with classy service. Although a pleasant low level of noise, it is a bit pricey, so most appropriate for a business lunch.

Very good food great service terrible interior design. The dining room is in a townhouse but looks like it was decorated by someone whose day job is decorating office space. Remodeling the the room would go a long way toward improving the overall experience

Maybe it was an off-night for the Chef, but the food was sub-par. I ordered the veal and it was tough and lacked flavor. My friend ordered a combination seafood dish and it was overcooked. This was a birthday celebration Service was OK, nothing extraordinary. I don't mind paying for a good meal --- this one stung a bit.

I enjoyed this restaurant so much that I have visited twice in the last month. The food is outstanding. I had the thin-sliced sea bass served on greens. It was light and fresh! Service is attentive. It tends to be more quiet which is great for a night chatting with friends or business associates.

Thought we would give this restaurant one last try (used to come here a lot but our last dining experience here was horrible). The restaurant has increased their prices, and with the quality of the food that they are serving at these prices, it really isn't worth it. We won't be back. Except for their lasagna, the food is pretty mediocre (my cod fish was actually bad: under cooked potatoes, chewy fish and way too salty). With all of the Italian restaurants in NYC, there are far better choices.

We had a disagreeable waiter and a foolish looking man in an oversized scarf walking about the restaurant surveying the tables. We sat as all of the tables around us were turned with new customers. Then, they all got served ahead of us. The disagreeable waiter stammered about our dinner ticket being misplaced. Dinner itself was so-so. I’ve had better salads, pastas and desserts. The place is do ‘80s it’s embarrassing, down to mirrors on the walls. The place is yesterday’s news and even when we were served I longed for a better meal.

I really want to be able to write a better review. I had hoped that in a former Rockefeller townhouse the ambiance would have been better but this is a nicely finished modern basement. The staff was absolutely fantastic. No complaints whatsoever there. The cocktails were great. It was the food that was lacking. The tomato and cucumber salad was almost tasteless. Perhaps that is the season but we were hoping it would have been better. The farro lasagne was dry. Farro might be good for gnocchi but not for lasagne. The branzino was fantastic. I can recommend it. But the meatloaf was also dry and not particularly flavorful. Perhaps worst of all everything was mostly tepid but definitely not hot. I can recommend the zabaglione. That too was good and full of berries and the coffee was good as well. Lastly the price was not as much as could have been expected so that was some compensation for a rather lackluster meal. We had hoped for so much more.

I visited Il Gattopardo with my fiance for her birthday and we had a very pleasant experience. The staff is incredible with their attentiveness. The moment a plate was finished it was whisked away without delay but done so inconspicuously so as not to interrupt the experience. The food was delivered very promptly and the pasta was still steaming and al dente. The food itself was a little underwhelming to be honest. We started with the Parmigianna Zucchini which was delicious and our favorite dish of the evening. We then moved on to the pasta and chose the Spaghetti with Grey Mullet Botarga and the Mezze Maniche Pasta. Both dishes were slightly bland although the pasta was perfectly al dente which cannot be understated in its importance. The cocktails were very good as well but nothing earth-shattering. Overall a very good restaurant but I would've thought an authentic Italian restaurant would have pasta dishes with a little more flavor and panache.
