Need to book at 4:15 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
We had an excellent dinner with the most outstanding service! We will be sure to return the next time we are in the city!
Fabulous place. Will be back.
We very much enjoyed our meal as well as the wine (barbaresco). However, the noise level was quite high. In the past, I attended the original layout of your restaurant. The ambiance was a bit more pleasant where it was possible to have conversation.
Our experience was beyond our expectations, from the food quality to th service, to the
music! excellent experience! "I love the relaxed feel of this place
the fresh made pasta, the treats from the chef served on each table,.

Neighborhood gem, not to be missed!
A dear friend and I toured MOMA and followed our visit with lunch at this charming restaurant. We’ve been there in the past and, as usual, we were not disappointed!
Great spot for a reconnect with old friends !!
Gorgeous and delicious. Will return as soon as possible.
Love this restaurant! The best culinary experience! We celebrated my birthday with a wonderful dinner and a wonderful waiter David!! The food is absolutely outstanding! We are Italian and we frequent this restaurant as often as we can, especially our birthdays and anniversaries. We love the ambience and the excellent service and the most delicious food❤️
A bit noisy at lunch time but otherwise very good.
AlwaYs receive fantastic and authentic Italian service
The dessert we had (delizia al limone) was very good. Everything else was just ok at best. Maybe we ordered wrong, but I couldn't recommend anything else we had (baccalà mantecato, broccoli romanesco, spaghetti with bottarga, rack of lamb). At this price point I expected better.
Service was fine. Ambiance would have been better if they hadn't put us at what was obviously the worst table they had (between a kitchen door and a server's station). My husband and I are 30 and it looked like we were the youngest people there without a parent.
If you do decide to give it a try I definitely wouldn't recommend booking on OpenTable. I don't think they have a good handle on the software. We saw another guy come in trying to get a table and get turned down, even though he pointed out that there were open reservations on OpenTable. Their excuse was that they were hosting a party downstairs that wasn't reflected in "the system".
Wonderful menu . But Italians don’t make meat loaf from Naples. I lived there. Been here a number of times. Generally good. Prices don’t warrant the meal . Plus if you don’t order wine or drinks. Forget about seeing the waiter until he wants to get paid . Busboys also try taking our food while we were talking and still had food on the plate . Twice. Much better and equal restaurants in the area with prix fix and friendly service.
Consistently wonderful every time we come here
Highly recommend this place
Wonderful staff! Terrific meal! I highly recommend this restaurant. Romantic outside seating as well !
Took our granddaughter for a Friday lunch - outstanding food, cheerfully accommodated special requests, attentive but not intrusive service. We had a wonderful experience at Il Gattopardo.
New Years Eve, a lovely festive evening with perfect jazz group
We were there for NYE. The decorations were festive but classy (balloons etc). What i really liked was that, while they had "specials" on the menu, they didn't force you into a NYE prix fixe at an exorbitant price. We were shown a table in the lower level - i thought, "uh oh, basement!", but it was in a nice atrium area. Loved our waiter - from Sicily. Very personable - talked just enough and explained things well. I had 2 items from the specials. Started with tortellini in brodo - the broth was the best i have ever had: really intense and rich; followed this with ravioli with pheasant. Also very good. Husband had (i think) burrata, followed by farro lasagne - *very* flavorful/good. Brother had frisee salad w/ pancetta, followed by "The Leopard's classic Sicilian couscous with shellfish ragu. Dessert: zabaione. All were wonderful.
Great Service mediocrity for foos
The experience was pretty good, not great. The place is as loud as a lot of the reviews say. The food is pretty good, decent size portions. However I'd say that it's pretty overpriced for what you get, I mean it's good, but not great. So for the price you could find the same thing in NYC for %50 of this cost. The service which is what everyone rants and raves about was average at best. I'm 38 and had a hard time hearing the guy talk about talk about the specials. It also took 15-20 mins after we were sat for someone to come and take a drink order. We also recieved our appetizers well before our 1st drinks came and had to ask 2x for them. It could have totally been a off night, but for our experience it was average.
Food is nothing special. Service average at best. We had meatballs totally dry. Pasta had no flavor. If you don't know Italian food or like Olive Garden, then you might like the bland, uninspired food here.
Pricey, but outstanding service and food
The experience started with the host telling me I didn’t have a reservation , then it was all downhill from there. The food was overpriced, barely average, the only positive was the table side service, which was good.
FANTASTIC!!!! Fun, informative, helpful, engaging staff, phenomenal food, excellent atmosphere. Great night!
Weekend with Wife
One of our favorite places in New York! The food and service is wonderful.
Great place, great food, great service, great menu!
Overall this restaurant met our every expectation. The location, across from the MOMA is perfect. The ambience, in John Rockefeller’s brownstone, was sublime. The only issue is that it is a little pricey: drinks are $20 each, beer was $12-15 a bottle and entrees are $30. Other than some Manhattan price shock, all was well at Gattopardo!
The food was pretty good except for my wife’s chicken entree. She raves about the lobster salad but felt the chicken was too salty and dry. Not a cheap place but left full and happy .
Enjoyable pre-theatre cocktails and meal for a small group.
Great food, wine options. Waiter went thru the special courses in a way that was hard to follow. Expensive.
The service, as always, was attentive and genuine. The food - superb! What a lovely Christmas dinner.
Superb food and wine. A very enjoyable experience!
Everything was superb.
Sono stata in questo ristorante a pranzo il 25 dicembre e tutto sommato siamo stati bene. Il cibo era buono ma molto americanizzato. Il ragù italiano e’ altro!
Daughter has lived in NYC for 4 months now and Il Gattopardo has become her favorite Italian restaurant. I came from California to spend the holidays with her, she made sure I got to have the Gattopardo experience for myself.
Fantastic service and magnificent food. Lots of options for fussy eaters. Very impressed.
It was a nice restaurant whit a kind crew. Highly recommended.
