I love this place! The food is amazing and the place is beautiful. It's a beautiful Town house. Its romantic and charming. We always go back.
I'd visited the restaurant before, and had found it delightful. This time, though, service was lackluster; our outdoor seating area was uncomfortable; and the food was simply ordinary. All for a steep price!
I fell in love with this restaurant. The service was top notch, the food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. I am looking forward to going next time for brunch and sitting on the veranda. This restaurant is very special and deserves 5 star reviews always! I love when I find an amazing place like this that I can recommend to everyone I know. Thank you!
Outstanding location near MOMA and theaters. Wonderful food and friendly and professional service. Expensive but not out of line given the quality and location.
Welcome to Italy! The Italian waiters speak perfect English and provide impeccable service. The food is as good as it can possibly get and the excellent wine list also contains some good bargains. Gianfranco Sorrentino continues to put it all together, starting with his restaurant at MOMA that overlooked the sculpture garden.
Fantastic Saturday brunch! Service was very attentive and the food was delicious. Members of our party had pastas, egg dishes, French toast, and pancakes. Everyone was pleased with their food. The only downside was that despite the fact that we were there when they opened at 11:30 and there were only two parties in the dining room, we were seated right next to each other. Though their toddler was generally well behaved he had several jarring outbursts that drowned out our conversation.
Exceptional cuisine and service!
Food is amazing. Service is outstanding. We had a great time. Always order the specials. They were delicious.
This wonderful restaurant never disappoints.
The service is outstanding, and the food exquisite.
Food was outstanding - service too - atmosphere outside dining was fabulous - maybe slightly over priced - but overall excellent
Had a most memorable Thanksgiving dinner! Excellent service and delicious menu! We had Italian - couldn’t resist!
Il Gattopardo exceeded every expectation for a fabulous holiday dinner. The flavors were exceptional… from the simple olive oil lemon drizzle on the salad to the juniper berries on the venison. Each bite was stunning. Bottarga was unique and a new flavor palate for me. We cannot wait to return
Nevardo, our waiter, expertly described each dish, and possible wine pairing. We loved the ease of the staff as they catered to our service. Our thanks to Nevardo and Alex .
Overpriced. We should have asked but waited sold us 145 bottle of champagne. Would think they would tell u before hand. Food was just not our preference. Many, many other choices in nyc before make it to this one.
Expensive but good, only for fancy occasions.
The food was bland and very overpriced. Plus the pasta appetizer was not al dente but raw. Veal was unseasoned and at $60 was a joke.
Would not go back. We complained.
Great food and great service. We had the swordfish and the cod entrees - excellent.
We had a lovely time visiting with friends whom we had not seen in 2 years. The service was impeccable. The food and drink, delicious and we felt very safe and secure with all Covid protections in order.
Grazie, il Gattopardo, for making me feel that my city really is back!
Excellent meal and service! Bravo!
First trip to NY
The staff was pretentious. Food was okay. Prices too high.
My husband and I were disappointed. Il Gattopardo had a great review, but the food didn't live up to our expectations. We got the meatballs as appetizer - they were dry, heavy, and lacked flavor. The 3 roasted cherry tomatoes served with them provided the most flavor. We then shared a seafood pasta. It was OK - but they came around with red pepper flakes to sprinkle on top. I asked for a pinch, but in the end it was too hot to eat. I gave the rest of mine to my husband who likes very spicy food...but what a strange thing to do to a delicate seafood dish. I had the veal chop for dinner - done Milanaise-style which is one of my favorite dishes. It was pounded so thin it came dry and overcooked. Surprisingly, given that, the breading was not crisp and crusty and once again didn't have much flavor. It was served with a large arugula salad (my favorite salad green) with a tart dressing that was quite good. My husband had the stuffed, roasted rabbit leg. It was once again a bit bland and dry. We skipped dessert. The wine list is good, but not much choice by the glass. Nevertheless, we found a nice white and a nice red from the limited selection.
The lobster raviolis are as good as it gets
We always enjoy dining at Il Gattopardo when we’re in NYC! The food is excellent, the service is outstanding and everyone is friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning again very soon!
We sat in the beautiful "downstairs" space. Per usual the food and service were impeccable.
Everything we got was really outstanding!!
Everyone was very nice, but service was extremely slow and the waiter was not so willing to accommodate a few simple requests
I visit this restaurant every time I’m in NY and it never lets you down.
We were going to a show so we had to have an early dinner. They accommodated us and we were in and out on time. We realized we loved the ambiance so much, and the food was superb, that we plan to go back another time when we aren’t time constrained and really enjoy this lovely restaurant.
Discovered this restaurant just down the block from our hotel in NYC. It was so good that we went back a second time a few nights later.
Rapidly becoming my favorite Italian in the City...and that is saying something. New menu on 11/10 filled with delectable tastes. Every dish well balanced...even the mussels were a delightful surprise...and it is hard to pull that off with something so basic. Highly recommended.
Meal was delicious- good service and overall ambience( we next to the street) . However, we are from out of town and didn’t know you had to have proof of covid vaccination to eat either inside or outside (in a tented area) . We are fully vaccinated, but didn’t have our cards. We were lucky that there were tables outside set up for folks like us- away from the other diners but still a lovely set up. It would be good if NY restaurants made this requirement obvious for out of town folks like us.
Getting back to pre-pandemic form, and lots better than last visit this summer. Food and service were both good.
Food was underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but you're definitely paying for the ambiance and not for the food.
Gabriel our waiter was superb! Food delicious!
Always an amazing experience! Our waiter was superb and the food was exceptional.
Great wine and risotto
This restaurant is definitely aiming high and attempting to equal some of the finest places in the city. The food was extraordinary from start to finish. The service was somewhat tense though, and it is not clear wbu that should be since there were lots of staff assisting. One notable problem was the bar service: it took way too long for drink orders to appear at out table. In one case a glass of wine ordered to go with an appetizer only arrived after the last forkfull had been consumed. In thr other hand, their selection of wines by the glass was exceptional. The building the restaurant is housed in is spectacular - it warrants several moments admiration on your way in. In the other hand, the inside of the restaurant is not particularly appealing, essentially in the basement off this glorious building, with a relatively low ceiling and very little decor.
It can be pricey but the food is top-notch.
