I’m reluctant to write how great this place is. It is already very busy and I want to be able to get a table there next time.
One of my go to places. Food never disappoints and the service is excellent. The right amount of liveliness while still being able to have a conversation at your table. Great spot.
Very good food. Very expensive. Not for a casual Sunday night dinner but a nice place to entertain clients.
Great find with great food! We stopped in for a Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The ravioli was delicate and delicious. Would definitely recommend!
One of the most delicious and romantic brunches in New York. We have been there on each of our yearly visits to New York. It only got better the second time. The best truffles shaved right on top of some spectacular pasta. Fresh Brazino fish finished off right at the table. Excellent service, three waiters taking care of all our needs. A great wine selection and service. I would go back tomorrow.
Was recommended by the concierge at the nearby Warwick. What a mistake. This restaurant is Way Overpriced. First bad impression was a rude manager who insisted I sit in a certain chair in a four person table. Tried three times to make me sit in a certain chair. There were only two of us in the party. I didn’t want to sit in that chair because it was right next to a loud party of four people.
The veal and buffalo ravioli ($30) first dish was cold, salty and tasted like dog food. The ravioli was rubbery and chewy. Tasted something out of a can. The main dish of halibut ($50) was soaked in lemon juice so strong that all you tasted was lemon juice. The vegetables under the halibut were soggy and limp and tasted like, you guessed it, lemon juice. I told the waiter to tell the cook about the ravioli and he said he would tell the manager. The manager never came out to talk to me about it but the did comp. that off the bill. I ordered a Bloody Mary that was watered down man.
Service was almost so annoying. About 8 guys standing around waiting for you to appear to be through with a portion of your food to take your dish and clear the table. I had to tell the waiter three times I was not through. I was trying to slowly eat the halibut.
With so many great restaurants in Manhattan- skip this one.....
Our second time at this restaurant while in NY and simply wonderful both times. Expensive, but it's New York. Waiter knowledgeable and friendly, great service, overall a lovely evening. I had the venison osso bucco which was superb and my wife had lasagna, also great. Cannot go wrong here.
Amazing food and exceptional service....
The service is perfect. Very nice people and nice food options.
This excellent restaurant continues to please with old favorites (like the wonderful tomato and cucumber salad and Neopolitan meat loaf) as well as creative specials. The service is professional and warm without being cloying and the wine list is great.
it is convenint for after theatre and close to our flat in NY. not a great value for the $ but there are limited choices in the area that are quiet enought to have a conversation and are open late.
This restaurant has been highly recommended by friends and it was awesome! Everything from the staff to the dishes and the ambiance was perfect! I expect to be back soon when I will be in Nyc! Thank you for this lovely dinner Dear Luigi and all your team!
Really special. Great staff, lovely evening.
My wife’s pasta was excellent. My special seafood risotto had wonderful flavor but the rice was undercooked. It was on the raw side of al dente. My meatball antipasto lacked adequate flavor. It was a bit dry. I’m not sure the cooking method is effective. The meatballs were wrapped in cabbage leaves. I think the chef over thought his dish here. Dessert was a pastiera. This was served warm. The dessert was too soft. It would be better served cold.
I was disappointed. Perhaps the restaurant is strained by its popularity. It wouldn’t be the first time. Service was efficient but lacked warmth. Not what you expect at an Italian restaurant. Hopefully, they will find their center.
The food has absolutely nothing special for what they charge.
Incredible selection, authentic Italian matched to 5 star service
Gianfranco is the best. Great atmosphere food and service
Service was excellent, food was excellent. I am from NY and have it on my list when I go back. Restaurant was recommended by a friend who always goes there when he is in NYC. I also recommend it as a must try restaurant.
Authentic, very high end Italian- over the top price wise. Menu solid but not unusual, standard fare, wine list quite over-priced for the usual Italian Brunellos and Tuscans-did I say very inflated! The sommeliere's ego is clearly even bigger than the executive chef's!
Every person working there knew what they were doing, did it well, and with a smile. The food was excellent as well. Good wine list and good help choosing a wine. The only downside was the noise level... hard and flat floors and ceilinsg could use some attention from a sound consultant.
Always Excellent! Love food, atmosphere and service!
My favorite NY Italian restaurant consistently excellent and innovative.
Delicious food, extensive wine list, excellent service. Nivardo, our server, was attentive, helpful and very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Ravioli were tender and delicious. Veal piccata was cooked perfectly. Service was very attentive.
Very good, well made Italian cuisine. Pleasant atmosphere and attentive service. It won't blow your mind but you'll leave quite satisfied with the whole experience.
Perfect! Meal, service and Place! We sure came back soon!
Service was fantastic as was the food! Great Italian wine list.
Last night was very disappointing and will probably not go back. For the money we paid for 3 people, which our bill came to over $500.00, service was terrible, it was like we were not there, they were waiting on other tables. The noise level was so loud we had a hard time talking to each other. The food was nothing to get excited about, not worth what we paid. I was expecting a much better experience with the service, food and ambiance.
Menu was limited. However the two items we chose were of very high quality and perfectly prepared.
Great restaurant but It would be nice if they could improve the chairs and the decor. Somewhat bland and looks passé.
great food, great wine, great service! Love Il Gatto Pardo!
Consistently excellent food, expensive but worth every penny. Attentive, professional staff. Welcoming maitre’d pleasantly in charge of the room insuring every guest has the best dining experience possible.
Absolutely off the charts! From the moment you walk don the stairs to the moment you leave. The most professional staff in the city. Food, service and overall the best. This is our favorite go to place in NYC. It will always be our favorite. "Grandi persone fanno grandi alimenti." Grazie, Ciao
Very good authentic Italian dishes, some presentations a little off the beaten path but still familiar, good service, good wines. A bit pricy, but that's New York.
Always a great experience. The service is outstanding and the menu is a delight
Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed! Food was amazing.
Fantastic small gem: cozy, charming, impeccable service and food to die for. Great experience.
Great place, location and service. The food was exceptional and we feel right at home.
We’ll be back!
Food and service was pretty good! It is a very nice and quiet spot. Specially for romantic diners or anniversary celebration like us.
goood food in a quiet room. very nice staff. wines are a bit too pricy
