After 12 years at Il Gattopardo’s original location, is with joy that we welcome you to The Rockefeller Townhouses, our new home at 13-15 West 54th Street. In the new house, Il Gattopardo gains an intimate bar space and a marvelous private event room with capacity up to 120 seats. Food excellent. ZABAGLIONE is super.
Always an enjoyable dining experience with great food. Really 4.5 stars.
Il Gattopardo is just the best Italian restaurant that I have ever been to. All of the selections are really excellent However I have to give a edge to the risotto. I have had this on many occasions and it is always outstanding. The wine steward is very helpful in choosing the best wine for the food and not directing you towards the very expensive wines. The service could not be better and the entire staff is very friendly and accommodating.
I loved the restaurant in it’s former location. Today. We were in a basement ante room by the kitchen for a $250 lunch. Please. GH
Mezze maniche with Nduja sausage is KING of pastas.
Great service and food.
super. great food
Excelentes comida y atención.
SANTIAGO, gran capitán de meseros.
Lovely old world service rarely found today. Creative menu was very interesting, and the portions were surprisingly large. A very nice dining experience.
Good food. Good service. Good experience. Good ambience.
Be certain to ask for seating in the main room. My first visit in November was outstanding. I thought the ambiance was great. Not so much in the back room. The food is excellent and the service is attentive. The only drawback on this visit was where we were seating. I will definitely return and asked the maitre'd to make a note on my profile regarding seating preference.
What a pleasure to experience true Northern Italian influenced cuisine. A true gem.
Generally excellent. A bit of a gaffe when the amuse bouche came after the antipasto had already been served, then the primi also came quickly. After that everything was perfectly paced. Food is outstanding. I found the lighting a tiny bit bright.
One of NYC best Italian spots! Beyond amazing food, service and vibe.
A lovely spot. The bar is adorable. The dining room is minimalist in design, but it works well. The food and staff are terrific. Love it.
Great food , very loud environment . At times waited for refills from bottle of wine purchased. Just leave it on the table!!! Overall though food excellent !!!
Always a pleasure the cassata was sublime
From entering Il Gattopardo to leaving, 2 and a half hours later !! (Exceptional in NY) The service and attention given to us was exceptional. We never felt that we were being "Rushed" to "Pay & Go" as happens in Theatre land NY @ 7 pm !
We must congratulate the manager and staff for making our visit THE MOST enjoyable experience we've had in the City !!! THANK YOU !!!
The atmosphere is low key and elegant, and the servers are helpful but slow. That said, the food went from mediocre to inedible. The octopus in a pasta dish was hard and smelly. My chicken was flavorless. The bread at the start of the meal was hard. I don’t know how this establishment received such a high Zagat rating.
The real agony was the price‼️ Five star prices for 1 star food.
One of my favorite places to gather with friends and enjoy a totally fabulous meal and evening. Service is attentive but not overbearing and the food excellent. This is always a top choice for an Italian meal.
Always a great meal with excellent service
I was tempted to grade low — out of selfish interest to avoid making it hard for me to get return reservations. Honesty override selfishness:
this is one of my favorites in NYC and one I always try to visit whenever I’m in the City. The food is terrific, the service excellent, the wine choices and recommendations perfect, the ambiance warm and happy, and the noise level moderate. The only reason for you not to go there would be to leave more space for me!!
I hope I don’t regret helping make them even more popular, although it is richly deserved.
Wonderful— more reasonable than expected
Birthday celebration with colleagues. Enjoyable.
Excellent food and service!!! Everyone was very nice!!!
We were very disappointed in our overall dining experience. We had booked this reservation based on our past terrific experiences at Il Gattopardo. We were given the least desirable tables, situated a noisy table of ten, even there were plenty of other options. The wine by the glass was pricey at $24 and the pour was skimpy. The food was nothing special.
Good, but expensive.
Delicious amuse bouche. Super octopus appetizer. Exceptional rack of lamb. The best chocolate ice cream. The venison ossobuco is tender and well seasoned.
My favorite restaurant in NYC.
All was extraordinary but for the voluble woman at the table behind me who never stopped talking
The food was awesome
The service was amazing
Will def be back
One of my favorite restaurants.
Always great food,service and ambience.
Best lasagna I have ever had!!
Thanks Mike Colameco for the recommendation...
My wife and I had our first Valentine's Day here 10 years ago, we ate here the night of our engagement 4 years ago, and just went back again this Valentine's Day. If I moved out of the state, or even the country, I'd make it a point to come back here as much as possible. The food is consistently incredible, every bite down to the last. And the service is absolutely perfect. Wonderful, kind staff. Great atmosphere. Don't miss this place!
A really excellent experience. Wonderful food, professionally served, in a delightful atmosphere. Highly recommended.
This was our first dining experience at ll Gattopardo and it will certainly not be the last. It is now among the top of our NYC restaurants. Walking down West 54th Street you readily notice the changes in your surroundings to residential amidst the Mid-Town Manhattan skyscrapers and after descending just a few steps and entering the restaurant you are embraced by a classy Italian Ristorante. From the genuine warm welcome you receive to the superb service, menu options and presentation, dining here is of such quality that you want to savor just the experience along with the cuisine. We could not have a more enjoyable dining experience. We strongly recommend it.
The food is always great, as is the service. Unfortunately, we had a table by the kitchen door, and although we did not complain, several other couples asked to move.
We have dined here, as well as Leopard at Des Artistes, many times. Both locations never disappoint. Everything was perfect for a wonderful Valentine’s dinner. Always excellent!
This is an excellent restaurant. A little below the radar screen but arguably one of the finest in NYC.
We had not dined at Il Gattopardo in quite some time. I forgot what an excellent restaurant it is. The menu is varied and reasonably priced for NYC. All appetizers and entrees we had were well prepared and amply portioned. The wait staff was also on its game. A very nice evening at a convenient midtown location.
Amazing wine list, food, service and ambiance. Have taken several personal and business colleagues who all enjoyed it as well.
