Unbelievable experience. A must destination for anyone in Manhattan. Lorenzo is a hands on presence throughout The Leopard!!
Exceptional service and atmosphere.
This restaurant is consistently great. The zucchini lasagna appetizer is my favorite, closely followed by the mushroom risotto. They are accommodating and welcoming. My daughter has a peanut allergy and the server walked us through the menu to ensure safety. Will definitely return.
Food and service both outstanding and authentic. The vibe of the restaurant comes from the many lively conversations at each table versus piped in music or something contrived - refreshing.
Many open tables and tried to stick us in the back. Never felt like we were important guests
We've never had a bad meal at this restaurant. The consistency is solid. We are always made to feel like special guests when we dine here. We enjoyed a Saturday brunch; the live music created a wonderful ambience. I'm glad we made a reservation. All the tables were full when we finished eating.
My third time at the restaurant and each one has been an outstanding experience. The food is great consistently, the service is intuitive and unobtrusive and the crowd is always fun to watch
Food fab service was lovely and accommodating
Great food , very attentive but not overbearing service, specials a tad expensive. Will return.
Excellent authentic Italian cuisine. Professional, friendly, service. Expensive.
It was for my husband’s Birthday celebration, even though I indicated on the Reservation, somehow they neglected to acknowledge it. Otherwise it was an enjoyable evening.
Highly recommended! I've been a couple of times now, for dinner and lunch, and both times the food and service were outstanding! The ambience is very nice and comfortable and the staff is friendly and professional. Pricing is typical for the area, which is to say, its expensive, but not more than others and very much well worth it.
I've never been to a restaurant where I've been asked to move tables half way though my meal. Before we even had our main courses, we were ushered to a table near the kitchen because another couple arrived and wanted our table instead. The manager knew it was rude since he offered us free desserts, which felt condescending, patronizing and cheap. A better gesture perhaps would have been to comp drinks or food that we had actually already ordered. It was humiliating to be treated as if our reservation and the fact that we were there first didn't count for anything. If the service hadn't been so slow we may have been closer to finishing our meal, but that was out of our hands and even if they were trying to accommodate two seatings, there was an open free table, just apparently not good enough for the new diners who had arrived, but adequate enough for us. Will not return and will not recommend.
Fabulous Italian dinner in a lovely setting on a quiet street in midtown. Food was spectacular from the Burrata salad, through the veal ravioli to the sole which was our entree - all specials for the night, and all wonderful. Strongly recommend Il Gattopardo. Like many top-end NYC restaurants, extremely pricey, but many superior wine choices for a reasonable price which helped. Two of us shared the three dishes and the wine but no dessert - and the dinner plus tip totaled about $250. Add an additional entree and we would have been north of $300. Still, a wonderful dinner and the service was helpful and attentive.
Excellent food and service in a city with no shortage of great Italian restaurants. Flavors were perfectly balanced, timing impeccable and perfect setting for an intimate or business lunch.
Speciality of the house cabbage wrapped meat balls in thyme sauce. Were dry, bland, no seasoning and o sauce
Enjoyed a great traditional Neapolitan style dinner!
Il Gattopardo is my favorite restaurant in New York. This was my fifth time eating here and I will continue to come back. I shared my salad, pasta and a huge ribeye steak with my guest and we were stuffed. The staff are polite, attentive and efficient.
A reservation is a good idea. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy.
New to this restaurant. Media says vip’s get best treatment etc. Had asked for a quiet table in making res’y on line. At 1pm place was crowded and noise level was substantial. Quiet area table was provided. First of many pleasant surprises. Expensive, yes but no pressure to turn over the table. We enjoyed a relatively noise free lunch, the wine choices were excellent, the seafood risotto was perfect. Ditto the ricotta cheesecake with a hint of citrus.
Delightful experience e. Excellent food & just the right amount of service. Not over soliticus but there
Once again, an outstanding meal. My only negative is that I think $33.00 for cheese ravioli is a bit much....it was delicious..but ...really.
Great restaurant and tremendous service. But expensive. Oh well...
Had a very enjoyable dinner. Friendly hosts. Delicious food. Waiter very good at recommending what to order. Relaxing ambience. Low key and simple clean design. Would return.
Service and food were outstanding
autentic italian cuisine, chef and owner seriously committed to preserve authenticity of ingredients recipes, plates from neapolitan traditions
From the maitre'd to the bartender to our server, they were all so welcoming and friendly. The food was fantastic...best grilled octopus ever! Really nice ambiance. Definite thumbs up for Il Gattopardo!
Dinner was wonderful for my wife and I until we were leaving and got stopped by our waiter why said we didn’t pay for an after dinner Espresso. This was after I paid about $800 for dinner, along with numerous $20 side tips during the night.
Not to mention another 20% gratuity on the overall bill.
I was highly offended.
Will never return.
In NY for the weekend
Great meal, just what you expect when you visit NYC and want to enjoy fantastic Italian food.
Amazing food and great service. Very helpful with gluten allergy. Food was fabulous.
Always one of our favourites. Best Italian restaurant that we have visited in NY. Not cheap but actually very good value as food delicious and waiters really helpful on menu choice
Everytime we're in New York, we make reservation. It's that good.
It’s a gem in midtown Manhattan. I would highly recommend.
Great food and lovely service
Went for brunch. Service was excellent and the food top notch. The live jazz duo were very good. Highly recommend for a brunch spot on weekends.
Wonderful restaurant with great food and service. Looking forward to returning!
Compared to its reputation, I was very disappointed. The table next to us was extremely loud. Although they apologized, the service was disappointing.
Our experience was wonderful. Lorenzo was very welcoming and made us feel part of the family. Oscar was just amazing and he made our desert at the table and allowed me to video the whole show not to mention the desert was absolutely delicious.
"energetic" as describing the sound level is rather misleading - the only negative factor in dining here is always the acoustics....there is nothing to absorb the din that grows as the space fills up....
We found Il Gattopardo because we have been to Cafe Leopard des Artistes. It appears to be a mostly New York clientele rather than a tourist restaurant. We went for a late lunch because of an early theatre time and were very impressed. Everything was outstanding - food, service, ambiance. The staff was very helpful with their wine recommendation as well. We will definitely go back.
