Il Garage Restaurant
Il Garage restaurant is located on the grounds of Park Ave Restaurant.
We celebrated our anniversary (16 year wedding anniversary) here and had an amazing meal! I had gotten us reservations at 5pm specifically so it would be a bit quieter, my husband has a hard time hearing when there is too much background noise. We were super excited to be the first ones there to sit and chat and enjoy the view. Sadly, that only lasted about 5 minutes and a party of 3 were seated directly next to us. They had clearly been pre-drinking and were already loud. They ordered more drinks and their conversation volume continued to elevate throughout the evening. My husband and I couldn’t carry on a conversation between ourselves as we just couldn’t hear each other well. We love il garage- food, service and quality are always top notch.
Lovely find while attending convention in Anaheim.. My companion and I shared the lasagna and the tenderloin medallions. Both superb, but the lasagna was a show stopper. Not your heavy, restaurant chain pile of goop but a nuanced lovely creation sure to make any Nonna smile. Great wine list. Come here, enjoy be happy
Cozy garage! The food is excellent, I’ve eaten here many times. The garden is beautiful on a warm afternoon.
The atmosphere made this a perfect date night and the food was amazing!!!!
We were on a double date with our good friends and it was our first time to this restaurant. The ambience was great, the setting was absolutely adorable and very cozy. The food was outstanding!!!
We will definitely be back!!
Highly recommend going.
Really cool ambiance, would love to go back in the summer time to enjoy an al fresco dining experience. Great food and wine list, good value and attentive staff!
Lasagna was tasty. Hubb thought lamb chops were fine, not extraordinary.
We arrived about 12 min early. Instead of saying, we’re ready for you, we were invited to have a drink in the bar. At 6:30 (resv time), I went to hostess desk and said, ready? Gal promptly took us out to Il Garage and seated us...I mention this just because there were many vacant tables, at least one of which would have been free 12 min earlier. I found it haughty and silly for us to wait when it would have been just a easy to walk us out earlier.
Not fancy, but cozy and beautiful outdoor restaurant.
Jacob, the mgr, runs a really nice restaurant. One of our very favorite in OC
I made reservations for 4 on new years eve. An early dinner at 6pm to avoid being out late. The restaurant failed to let me know they were changing their menu just on this night because of it being new years eve. I avoided park Avenue because of the high priced menu. Il garage ended up mirroring park ave menu. I wasn't happy about that.
The pan seared chicken was flavorless and chewy. was not worth $28 I payed for it. I wanted to cannelloni from the regular menu.
Ambiance is nice tho...other then that I'm disappointed in the food and changing the menu without notice.
Had a very poor experience. Spent nearly $300.00 on my family of 4. The menu was changed with absolutely no notice. The table was extremely small, couldn't dine properly. We had to bus our own tables in between appetizer and drinks and entrees because there was no room on this extremely small table. We we're miserable. The server agreed, but couldn't do anything about it because that's all they had. The drinks were overpriced, tasted horrible, didn't have the proper amount of liquor in them. Tried to contact a manager 3 different times, they failed to respond....Such poor customer service. Will not be back. My next $300.00 will be given to a finer establishment that values their customers.
It’s truly a unique experience, to dine in a real garage, which opens up to a beautiful herb garden! Dress warmly, though...the heat lamps can’t be brought inside; also, bring your phone or a small flashlight because it’s a bit darker than just dim at night. The food comes from Park Avenue’s kitchen, and it is always excellent. The place was nicely decorated on Christmas Eve with holiday music piping in. Unfortunately, our entrees arrived before the appetizers! We chose to take the dinners and cancel the appetizer dishes so the food wouldn’t get wasted. I was disappointed to miss trying the appetizers, but perhaps it was just as well since we all got comfortably full without them. The waiter comped my BF’s glass of wine and offered to give me a comped glass but I didn’t want anymore alcohol. It would’ve been nice if he comped the one dessert instead, but that didn’t happen. That’s ok. We all enjoyed our night out, anyways. The food quality was simply outstanding!
A favorite for years. Outstanding food and service. Consistently excellent and a fun place to have an enjoyable and romantic dinner.
food was very bland not sure I will be back but love park ave
Service and ambiance was wonderful. Food was ok. A bit expensive for pasta as well.
Outstanding food only surpassed by incredible service.
My former coworkers and I went for our annual Holiday dinner. It was the first time they dined at Il Garage, we were all blown away with the food and service. Chef David Slay and his staff are on point.
My family went here for a special occasion; my fathers birthday celebration. We had excellent service and the good was delicious. The atmosphere was romantic and cozy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as I already have. I will definitely return.
Thank for making us feel at home and explaining the menu, we truly had an amazing experience and will definitely be back!
Excellent! Very cute use of an interesting space. The food was fantastic. We drove up from San Diego and wanted to get away from the chain restaurants near Disneyland... this place is a great find!! The other restaurant on the property looked very cozy as well. (Park Ave) I would make the trip to eat at either!!
This spot was Absolutely fabulous - we all agreed it was wonderful from appetizers to dessert. One guest said it was hands down the best lasagne she had ever eaten (I agree!). The desserts were Divine. I Loved the atmosphere and the herb garden, twinkle lights and shrub wall as well as the holiday decor. The heaters kept us warm as well! I would go back in a heartbeat.
Loved this restaurant and the food! Will definitely be back!
My colleagues and I had a lovely dinner in an adventurous spot! The food and atmosphere were delightful! Was my second meal at this restaurant and I look for to eating there again soon.
Can't find a better environment. Everything was perfect. Best tasting tomato in a long time. It was a Sunday night and pretty quiet, just how we like it. Already recommended it to 6 people!
Excellent food.. wonderful staff and the ambiance was very romantic.. perfect wedding anniversary dinner
My second time dining. Service is lacking.
Nice and courteous but not attentive. Had to look for the server on both occasions.
Consistenty poor service on Saturdays. When this happens, some menu item descriptions don't match what is served to you.
Sitting in a garden. Was very cool.
The beet and pear salad was very creative. I would have liked the beets cut thicker. I could hardly taste them. My husband had the tomato and onion salad. It was delicious as well. The pasta dishes we selected were delicious. I wasn’t found of the limoncello mojoto. Too much herbs.
Thank you for the birthday treat. It was a perfect size for 2 to share. All and all it was a very pleasant evening.
Outstanding service, food is always good, and the staff is extremely nice.
Food, service and ambiance were all very good. Except for the part where they brought the bottle of wine that went bad which is fine but they didn’t have any more of the same wine I wanted and when I asked for a discount, it was not accommodated. A Little disappointing.
This is a hidden gem where you would least expect it. Amazing ambiance, great food and excellent service!
You can always get a great meal here! We have never been disappointed at il garage! Love this place and the wait staff is incredible!
Caught up with an old friend who is also a foodie. It was the first time for both of us at Il Garage. Great food, excellent wine list, and an a perfect setting overlooking their impressive garden.
We would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing! We loved being by the garden where they grow their own fresh vegetables for the food. The servers very friendly and did a fantastic job serving all 14 of us.
It was a busier than usual night so it was slow but still worth the wait. Our 17 year old grandson needed to order a 2nd meal but otherwise portions were fine for the rest of us. Food was delicious. Staff friendly. Ambiance amazing 🙂😊
My husband and i were looking forward to trying Il Garage. We’ve eaten at Park Avenue and we have always been impressed by the fresh ingredients and the innovative menu. Il Garage also has very good food but the service is lacking. We waited 15 minutes to even place our drink order and then we had to wait another 15 to get our wine—and there were only four other customers at the time.
Food and service, excellent. We have eaten at the Park Ave many times, this was our first visit to the Garage, very nice.
We like to try new restaurants when we go out with friends, and Il Garage was recommended. We tried it last night and had a great experience. We didn’t know what to expect when we arrived at the location, but once we entered we were pleased. We were escorted through to the back of Park Ave. restaurant where it opens up to the outdoors and where Il Garage is located. We dined in their private vegetable and herb garden. The ambiance and service was great and we highly recommend this restaurant.
Sadly this used to be a gem of a restaurant but now the prices are sky high and all of our entrées were very bland The brussels sprout appetizer was quite bland as well , it felt steamed instead of roasted and interesting. The bread pudding was probably the best of the meal. Lovely atmosphere but the food let us down.
