   First time there, BYO. Absolutely delighted with the experience. Fantastic server, chef greeted our table, and the meal was great.

   As always, great food and great service but, be prepared, this can be a very, very noisy restaurant.

   A group of eight friends had a marvelous dinner yesterday. The service is always warm and accommodating. Each diner praised her meal from the apps to the dessert. The noise level was moderate because of us! We were so relaxed that we laughed, chatted and were a happily noisy group. Il Gabbiano is a great gem you can find in Cranford.

   Great little place with big surprises. Food is fresh and delicious. Delivered in a timely manner. Staff is attentive and friendly. Makes you feel at home. You'll need a reservation on the weekend. Outside, cozy dining available. Heated on colder nights. Everything runs efficiently. A huge plus is that it is a BYOB. Enjoy.

   Wonderful evening celebrating birthday with family. Appetizers great...calamari with marina sauce...mussels in tomato sauce...hot loaf bread and butter...salads fresh...dinners included tortellini and seafood.. chicken parm in vodka sauce w/pasta...chicken over salad...chicken marsala...meatballs and spaghetti and chicken parm. Wait staff attentive...allowed to bring birthday cake from outside with coffee...memorable evening!

   This was our first visit and we will be back! Excellent, friendly service and delicious food! Everything was fresh and well prepared. The owner is very nice and welcoming!

   Had to wait over 1/2 hour even though we had reservations. There was no notice that there would be a limited menu for Valentine’s Day so we were disappointed we did not see items from their regular menu. Husband had seafood dish which he said was fair. I had the short rib which was tender to cut but very chewy. This is the second time we were disappointed.

   I sincerely apologize for the wait time and for any disappointment , we had a limited menu to ensure a smooth dining experience, but I understand that this was not communicated in advance At your table, I personally offered to speak with the chef if you wanted something different from the menu, and you decided to order breaded chicken with a side of pasta, which was not on the menu, and we were happy to accommodate. Additionally, I’d like to clarify that no one at your table ordered a seafood dish. I appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with our team. We hope to have the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.

   Had been a year since we were last here, and we said to ourselves why aren't we coming here more. Terrific service and excellent food! Pasta Fagioli, Chicken Parm and Chicken Francese were all excellent, were large portions and very fairly priced. This is a nice neighborhood spot, large parking lot and really friendly folks. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
