Met a friend for brunch. The service was impeccable, the dappled sunlight on the patio was lovely and the smoked salmon omelet was one of the best I've ever had!

Great food and good service. Went there with three friends. Two of us had the seared tuna salad which was excellent. One person ordered a salad and the fourth a sandwich. Everyone was happy with her choice.
Tasty bread with OO and Balsamic vinegar. We’ll go there again.

We had a great server who was friendly without being pushy, attentive without being intrusive and had knowledgeable recommendations. The service was expedient, however the price is a little high for a lunch, however it is downtown Walnut Creek, but the food was excellent. I would go again.

We were excited to have a Valentine's Day dinner here since we had our wedding luncheon at the Il Fornaio in San Francisco but unfortunately it didn't meet out expectations. We we're sat at a table not even a foot away from another couple and it was uncomfortable. I feel like for having a reservation at month and a half before should have given us a better table, guess not. The food was good but the ambiance not so great. Maybe I'd come back for a lunch on the outdoor patio but don't think I would make a reservation again.

We were very happy that we were able to get a reservation on Valentines Day. Naturally, it was quite crowded that evening. But they took us on time. Food was terrific, as always.

If I didn't already go to the location in Sacramento(which I give 5 stars) I wouldn't be so disappointed! The food appetizer tasted like it had been sitting out (very dry), the entrée was very good veal and drinks were good. The desert came with the dirtiest spoon I have ever seen! the service was bland and he wasn't knowledgeable in recommending anything, the price was not worth it, ambiance was terrible to loud and felt like I was put in a corner! I requested a single rose and they failed to even let me know that they were unable to commidate my request. I definitely won't be coming back to this location simply from the service and ambiance. /: I am a loyal customer to the Sacramento location!!

We had a wonderful dinner at Il Fornaio on Valentine's Day. There were four of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our delicious dinners-salmon, chicken, pizza and mixed grill plus beautiful salads. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely return to this Walnut Creek gem.

I took my daughter out for a Valentines Day lunch. Our server was put out that she had to help our table. She clearly was more interested in her family friends that were seated across from us in the corner. We had to ask for everything. She didn’t offer us cheese for our pasta. However w did watch her kindly offer it to other tables around us. She didn’t come back to our table until we finished our plates. When she finally came back to our table she said “done? “ ..we wanted to know what options were avail for dessert. We had to ask her for a dessert menu. The table behind is also wanted desert menus she went Into great detail with them about what was available and what she recommended from her personal experience. She then as walking by tossed their dessert menus on our table and kept walking. So rude. My daughter was done by then. She works In The restaurant industry and said that the customer service we were receiving was sub par and we needed to go. We had to ask for our bill and when she finally came back to our table she said oh “now your done?” My daughter was about to get up and tell management at this point. I jus signed the card and said let’s jus go and we won’t be back. The food was amazing but customer service is really important part of the dining experience. Really disappointed.

Nice evening with friends we hadn't seen in over 20 year. Sherry our waiter was very good. Overall a very nice evening. As to the food, it was good. The Umbria selections were a nice departure from the regular menu.

My husband and I come frequently to dine at Il Fornaio as the restaurant is comfortable with consistently good Italian dishes and wonderful service. Reina helped us on this trip and she was marvelous, very attentive and knew the menu. We had the lentil soup. Arugula and beet salad, carpaccio, and fettucine al mare in a garlic white wine sauce. Birthday desert was a slice of real spumoni ice cream with plenty of cherries and pistachios. Parking in the garage across the street cost a whopping 50 cents. Il fornaio always delivers an excellent experience.

This is a long time favorite of mine. Food was sub-par at best. The appetizer and dessert were great but main course was not good. Service was almost painful. She should not be waiting in a what I would consider a top restaurant. I am hoping that it was just a bad night. Normally it is terrific. I will try it again.

We did the happy hours I ordered lemon drop cocktail and loved it order appetizer pizza calamari fritti and it wee good too. Gem in the neighbor hood servers good and courteous lots of parking in the street, nearby lots of stores, for sure I will be back

Everything was great except service. The waitress hit my head with a stand for calamari, dropped the plates on the table instead of placing them on the table. Not very good service.

We went for a birthday celebration. The food was cold and the service was terrible. The waiter was not able to answer a couple of questions and said he would find out and return with answers. He never did and we had to ask a bus boy twice to get us water and find our waiter to take our order. After waiting a long time for our meals, we had to return two of them because the food was cold. No one even came over to apologize or see how we were doing. We had a party of 7 and the only positive remarks after the meal was, 'well the bread was really good'. Oh one final note. The waiter brought over a house birthday dessert of spumoni ice cream and it was almost all melted! I was so disappointed because it was my choice of restaurant and my sons 26th birthday. We moved out of the Bay Area 7 years ago and I was so looking forward to a fantastic meal on this visit. Just a disappointment.

Our family met here for a Saturday night outing; six of us ranging from 15 to 68. We had the best waiter, the best food and drinks, and the best relaxed dining we could hope for here in Walnut Creek CA. That's really saying something because there are many choices for dinner, and I am a really picky restaurant critic. The cocktails were perfect, the service was quick, and there were several persons who cleared the table, refilled the water glasses, delivered the entries, and the desserts. Cant wait for another return engagement.
