We’ve been sited right away the server came after 5-10 min. We place the order. The bread that should come right away as promised didn’t come. When finally I talked to manager they gave us bread almost after being sitting 25 min. Appetizer came like in 20 min and main course came in 1 hour. Food was ok service needs to be improved
I understand today is a thanksgiving but it wasn’t that busy and other people got their food faster then we came

Went to Il Fornaio after seeing a show at the Paramount. Had fantastic meals, an appetizer, drinks and dessert and all were so good. Surprised at the bill - quite reasonable considering how much we ate. Service was fabulous. Will definitely come back.

We had a reservation. With many tables open they sat us literally next to wait stand. We ask to be moved, which they did to a slightly better table. Still crammed and in walkway, we asked to be moved again. They were not happy, but did move us to a descent table. The service was rushed from that point on. Enter showed up before appetizer was finished. We had to ask about dessert, which was the only truly good thing we consumed.

The restaurant is inside a mall and you can guess how cozy that can be. Bread was stale, fried calamari overdone and chewy. My pasta was incredibly Aldenti and flavorless. The greeter was nice. He offered us a better table. Did not like the atmosphere nor food. Would not recommend to anyone.

Il Fornaio recently dropped their "Festa Regionale" at their locations outside of California. This is a very disappointing development as we looked forward to tasting the regional food of Italy each month. They have also stopped making their salt and rosemary rolls due to cost of labor.
We will not be dining there near as often due to these changes

I always like the food here. They must have a new chef. There were 4 of us and none of us liked the food. They used to have fabulous bread. Their new bread is fair. I had lunch there a few days earlier and their pizza was great. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday.

I really enjoy il fornaio, have not been to Seattle for a few years. Food was good but it used to be great. Bread was stale and all the menu items were pricey, compared to the quality.

We had a 9:30 reservation and got seated right away. We were told the kitchen closed at 10pm so we needed to order quickly, even though the restaurant did not close until 11. They had run out of bread. We were told they only cooked it in the morning, which makes the evening bread more stale. This didnmt matter since they had none. We we ordered at 9:45, And I asked if we should pre-order dessert. The waitress said there was no need it would not be a problem. Well, fast forward to desserts, and we were told they could only do gelato because the kitchen staff had all gone home. REALLY? I even asked before. The service was slow despite us being one of about 3 tables in the restaurant. The waitress told us they closed everything early, which they do sometimes if they are not busy. Be careful if you go late... then again I had a similar experience with dessert when I went at 5pm another time. Why post hours if you don't follow them. Though the entrees were decent. My daughter said he pizza tasted weird, and when we said somethung to the waitress, she shrugged it off and charged us $18 for the one piece of it she did eat.

Waiter took three times to get our order placed properly, giving him feedback about, he did not like that. Their pseudo Italian talking and telling the customer repeatedly that the wine he ordered is from Italy (I hope so when I order Italian wine) makes you feel to be part in a comedy show.

A group of six of us went to the Pacific Place location before a show at the 5th Avenue Theater. We informed our server of our timeline and he was very good about getting us out in time! Four of us had the specials of the day and they were all amazing. The freshly made risotto was probably the best I’ve had in Seattle. Their skewers of meat and vegetable, served with polenta were also amazing. Two of my party had never been to Il Fornaio and will be going back for sure.

One tip: clarify when you first order how you would like your bill divided at the end. It’ll save some time for the server (and save angst!)

I was treating my college age son to dinner, and we both had a great meal. We shared an appetizer and salad, then he had pasta and I had steak. Everything was excellent.

My only complaint is our server said that all of their salmon that day was King, but I overheard the owner telling another table that it was Coho. There is a huge difference between the two, and the salmon that we ordered tasted very much like Coho, which is, unfortunately, vastly inferior, in our opinion.

We were in a little bit of a rush, running late before a show at the 5th Ave Theater. Our party had not been to Il Fornaio in a few years and decided to try them out since they had reservations available. The Hostess sat us immediately upon our reservation time and let the waitstaff know that our time was short. The waitstaff was very helpful recommending dishes that met our needs. The flow of our dinner was perfect, not long between courses, yet we never felt rushed. We were all pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the dishes were. The Calamaretti Fritti appetizer was perfect, light and crunchy and not greasy at all. The lasagna was delicious, as was the Ravioli Alla Lucana. Temperatures and portion sizes of the food were perfect, I'm usually a big eater and I left satisfied. Even the lighter eaters in our party finished their dishes without feeling like they had overeaten. The staff had us in and out in 40 minutes, with plenty of time to make our show. We will definitely be back again.

It's beautiful here, and the view by the windows is wonderful. It's so relaxing to watch the light change as the sun sets and have a glass of wine and a delicious appetizer like the delectable bruschetta. The vodka cream sauce on the pasta is delicious too. We eat here whenever we're in town.

We had a friends get together here - made a reservation in advance and were seated promptly upon arrival. Our waiter appeared to have memorized a few words of Italian and was a bit over the top about trying to throw them in at every possible opportunity which was a little annoying as it really did seem fake, but he was friendly, even if that also was fake. Our food was a bit slow coming out but that didn't make a whole lot of difference to us as we were doing a lot of talking. I had the tagliatelle bolognese with meatballs as recommended by our server. It was very good and I would definitely have that again. I heard no complaints about any of the food but I did notice they were out of multiple menu items (both specials and regular items) at the time we got there (6PM). I found that unusual and I know at least one person at our table had to revise his order based off the item he wanted not being available. I think in total there were 6 different menu items they were completely out of. I would still eat here again - overall it was a good experience and the bolognese pasta was delicious.

Restaurant was very busy so service was average at best. Forgot to take our order. Had to wait for server to come back.
We ordered the meatball appie which was so small for the price. Way too much sauce on pasta and was all I could taste. Pasta noodles stuck together and some were undercooked and hard. Dessert was the best part. Nice restaurant but we must have caught it on an off night.

We are "Passport" members and have been for 5+ years. This means we went to Il Fornaio at least every month for dinner for years. This location (Seattle, Washington) decided to discontinue the regional menu/passport monthly promotion on stamp 3 of the 6, without notification. While I understand the possible rational, it was a major disappointment not being able to experience the different regional foods of a selected part of Italy. I hope Seattle decides to do the Regional menu again.

One person in our party ordered the Pollo Toscano, from which he shared bites with the other two of us, and it was wonderfully moist and flavorful. He asked for pasta in place of the potatoes, and it was excellent; the roasted carrots that accompanied it, however, were undercooked and uneaten. He was still extremely happy with his choice of entree.
The other two of us shared an order of the Grigliata di Pesce Misto. It was so wonderful that my mouth waters just thinking about it, and it was actually two or three bites more than the two of us could eat. We also shared an Insalata di Bietole, which was, for us, the perfect accompaniment.

After our meal was placed on another diners table the waiter realized his mistake, reclaimed the plates, walked out of sight for a minute and then brought it to us. I knew it was untouched so kept the food, but isn't that against health code? Shouldn't have. My bolognese, a simple dish to make, was tasteless and uninteresting. My wife's meal was better but not stellar. At least the wine was good.

Always great food, good service, and desserts. We've tried most everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The lunch portions are right sized and service is well paced. The rolls (small round ones with sea salt) are perfect for mopping up your sauce. They do the best they can with décor. Hard when you are all you have to look at are the sides of other buildings out the windows.
