This is a restaurant that always makes us glad we ate there. Delicious food, super good service and just a vewry nice place to dine. They have the best pizza in town--true Italian.

We had a co worker who’s retiring st the end of April and IL Foreno provided a great place to go and to show our friend a great place for food and service and atmosphere. All of us had a fun night out.

Overall the price for value is not there. The quality of service is fine but find that the choices are nothing to be excited about for what the name screams and prices demand. I ordered the special and seasonal salmon king dish ; It was bland and really didnt have the flavors and seasoning I was expecting and have had elsewhere. And for being in Seattle, I wouldve expected exceptional. Also, the food temp for our party was warm versus hot which meant that the timing of service was slow. Given that it wasnt busy, I wouldve expected the dishes to be served hot and not sitting out. Its a causal affair with a slightly higher price curve than what it deserves.

Butternut squash dish was good (enjoyed the crispy sage garnish!) however the angel hair dish was not seasoned correctly and a stalk of half-wilted basil (which the customer then has to pick through and tear up themselves) was frustrating. The gentleman who kept our water filled was very attentive. Unfortunately this could not compensate from the distracted service of our server. It did not appear to be very busy so that was confusing and disappointing. Meh.

My mom and I went there for dinner. The food, service and prices are excellent. We even got to meet the new restaurant manager, Austin, as he was making his rounds checking on everyone to make sure we're all doing well and happy with everything.

I've been to this restaurant several times and highly recommend it. It's always enjoyable.

Late dinner so my food choice was not available. They fixed a dish for me that was great. Wait staff was a little slow to check on us. Others in our party enjoyed what they chose.

I’ll Fornaio never disappoints. Food is always delicious and service impeccable! It’s a hands down favorite of my family and friends when we are in town to see a show or for shopping. Excellent wines also. Bob Appetit!!

We had a great waiter, Thierry, who made our experience quite memorable. He was very helpful in the selection of wine and choice of entree. Not only was he quite knowledgeable, but he was a delightful person as well. The food was okay after we asked for more pasta vodka sauce and more gravy for the chicken/mash potatoes. Our only complaint would be an uncomfortable moment where we had to reiterate our desire for a nice table. The woman greeting us put us in a two-seater on the aisle near the front entrance. This was totally unacceptable given the fact that it was a "special occasion" dinner and I had reserved this a week prior to our reservation with the specific request for a booth or window table. This woman was completely "out to lunch" as she didn't have any idea of my request and gave us two poor choices before I more or less insisted on a window table. This got us off to a bad start but thank goodness we had a great waiter who really made the difference. (I think you need a change of front person staff).

The service was impeccable and food delicious! I had dinner there several years ago and was excited to see it was still downtown. It is turning out to be my favorite place to eat when I visit Seattle!

We have dined here many times and for the most part they do a great job.

It was busy on Saturday night we had an early reservation noted that two us had birthdays .

Service was slow no one said happy birthday or thanks for sharing with us... Nothing.

We will go again but service was a disappointment.

Once again a delicious dinner, pre-theater show. The food selection, regular menu and special fresh sheet, is varied and offers something everyone will enjoy. Lots of wine by the glass or bottle, and I like the option for a 6 oz, 9 oz pour. Our service was exemplary. Love the window seats where the hustle of Seattle is just outside.

Dining at Il Fornaio never disappoints. The service is exceptional and responsive without being intrusive. The food is remarkably consistent without being boring. Every aspect of the dining experience is exactly what you would expect, and everything you expect it to be.

Il Fornaio is a decent place for essentially being inside a mall.

The food itself was fine, however nothing extraordinary. Service covered the basics, but again nothing really stands out.

If you are hungry and they have a table, it is a fine place to grab a bite. I would not reserve or make it any sort of destination meal. There are simply too many other places in Seattle that are much better.

I’ve been here a few times, usually for happy hour. This time server was a bit slow and they had run out of one of their main pasta dishes, poor form for an Italian restaurant. Salmon was very good. As mentioned server was a bit slow to the point that I was going to order coffee and dessert, she dropped off menu and I tried to order as she was going by table after a bit of a wait. She said she’d be right back. She disappeared for long enough for me to just pay my bill when she did return.

I was hungry for Italian food and I was not disappointed. The seasonings in my salad and ravioli dish were excellent. Also like the grating of "fresh Parmesan cheese" added to my entree. We had a few servers and they were all great! My friend and I split our meal; so the servers divided it in front of us on a separate serving tray. I actually felt like the servers treated us like royalty. The maitre de also came to our table to ask about our meal. Oh...and the dessert was "soooo delicious"!

After a hard day at Emerald City Comic Con we were looking forward to nice meal. The person that brought us to our table didn’t offer any place to park my wife’s walker. Everyone around us had menus in nice holders while we got menus that were just sheets of paper.
Our server took over 5 minutes to bring us water and take drink orders. Then he completely skipped my beverage. So after finally he returned we requested my drink(a Diet Coke, really really tough to make) and waited again for him to pass us 3 times before my drink arrived.
Our food was served promptly the salmon was great, my daughters spaghetti was tasty, unfortunately my wife’s dinner special, ravioli with salmon and pesto cream sauce tasted funny and was hard to cut. She flipped the raviolis to find the burnt on the bottom. When we finally got someone to help her. She had to physically point and try to cut one in front of the manager. They cooked a fresh serving for, it was much better.
This night was so unlike our previous visits it was shocking.
Alas the damage was done and it will be along time, if ever before we return.

The service was slow, food poor and the gluten free pasta still caused an IBS reaction which I have never suffered before with a gluten free option. We had to wait 10 minutes before our waiter brought our second round of drinks. The last time we were in the states the tip % was 10-15 the waiter extremely upset about his 10% tip and even came back to the table and said he had expected a 15-20% tip. We were shocked specially as the bill was extremely high for the standard of food we received. We could had the same at Boston Pizza for the same price.

Price was a bit higher than I expected. The gluten free menu did not list prices. Also, it was not made clear to me that all options on the GF menu were not available. Waiter did recommend a nice wine that was not the most expensive option. Good place for special occasions but there are places that have better value around for "usual" days.

Arrived on time and immediately let our sever know we were in a hurry to make Hamilton and she assured us we did not need to worry and she could get us out in an hour. 47 minutes later after several check ins to see what the status of our food was, we walked out hungry so we wouldn’t miss our show. My kids had a packet of nuts and gummy bears for dinner at the theater because of the terrible service. Disorganized and inefficient. What was supposed to be a nice dinner out for a special evening was ruined. Will never go here again.

I was not too impressed with this restaurant. This was the first time at this restaurant and I probably won't be back. The waiter came back and asked again what I ordered and then my daughter received the wrong dinner. I had some Brechetta which was very soggy, I also had a ceasar salad which was good. I would much rather go to Mama Sortini's for Italian food, there's is great! Sorry for the bad review but this is how I felt.

Food took forever to arrive. I ordered a seafood platter that was so over cooked it was almost burned. I cold only stomach a few bites. My daughter’s calamari came out cold and soggy. We had show tickets so I didn’t want to complain for fear of slowing us down even more. They sat us next to chefs cooking who yelled angrily during our entire meal. Expensive food that was not worth it.

The food was good, but the kitchen had already run out of two items (one special entree and one wine special) that we wanted to order, although it was only 6 pm. The menu was limited and had very few other non-meat options, after I was unable to order my desired entree. The restaurant was very crowded on a Saturday night, the tables were very close together, and the kitchen was backed up. It took 90 minutes to receive our entrees, and we nearly missed our show nearby, although we arrived early for our reservation 2 hours before showtime. This was very disappointing, so we may not come back.
