Il Fornaio - Sacramento Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely scrumptious cuisine--we all had the regional menu. The management is wonderful and all servers attentive. I think it is the best restaurant in Sacramento......elegant, but not fussy.
Thank you for consistently delicious food and a beautiful ambience.
We were her to celebrate my birthday. Every person we were in contact were especially friendly. The food was very good. My husband had the ravioli from the regional menu and they were excellent. We would definitely recommend it to others and come back ourselves.
Loved this place. First time going there and it was on Valentine’s Day. I made reservations and as soon as i got there our table was ready. Our waiter was extremely nice but not a fake nice. Like a real nice lol. I would definitely recommend this place. I was scared when the bill came to the table because I figured it would be extremely expensive but it was only 36$ and we got drinks. Loved this place! I will be back. Hope you guys go.
Good food, very nice setting, wish our waiter treated us a little better. Soon as he found out the table sitting next to us had lots money and bought the last bottle of a very expensive champagne he started to treat us different and paid more attention to the other party, plan to visit again just hoping for a different waiter
In summary would suggest you pass on Il Fornaio, you're not missing out. My experience was mediocre at best.
When brought to our table I had to notify the gentleman seating us that there was only 1 seat at our table (there were 2 of us) as he was walking away. We did not receive an explanation of the menu other than "specials are in the middle". Other than when we checked in we were not asked if this was a special event (was my wife's birthday). The food was OK (sausage ravioli and pork medallions), definitely not exceptional. This may have been the first time I've not eaten everything on my plate. Maybe I'm just old enough to know when to stop ,or I just wasn't compelled to eat any more of the entree. I've never had zabione before so I don't know how it compares but I didn't finish that either. The tiramisu was good though a bit more bitter than what I've tried before. We definitely did not receive our money's worth.
After reading my above post the General manager reached out to me to apologize and make amends.
Even with a reservation and with the restaurant not full there was a wait. The food is decent, but for the price it would be more of a value to go to an authentic Italian restaurant. Service was underwhelming especially for the price. Nothing bad, but nothing outstanding. Not worth the price. Unlikely to return.
We arrived early for our reservations and requested a booth vs a table. The hostess said that all the booths were booked but she would seat us at a nice romantic table on the patio. When we were seated we got a window table in the main seating area and not the patio as promised. WE were there for over an hour and the booth right across from us was empty the whole time. In fact there were several booths empty for a long time. I am wondering why the hostess said that all the booths were booked. Very disappointing. Probably will not go back to this restaurant after being treated like this.
My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and they treated us like royalty! We had sparkling water and appetizers on the house and our waiter was truly amazing! Everyone was very sweet who worked there and we will definitely be coming back! Thank you!
