Il Fornaio - Sacramento Ratings and Reviews
Although there were empty booths we were Seated at a horrific table that was like stuck into the end of the kitchen. Not setup and there were holes all over the chairs. They brought the pasta at the same time as the salad so no chance to eat properly. The food was good but overall a very poor dinner experience for me and my guests.
Wine was delicious, calamari was yummy. I was a little disappointed in the pizza, but I am willing to try again.
Also Fridays are so busy that I may change my night as while the server was very pleasant and attentive it seemed a bit slower than normal especially bring our wine. Maybe the bar was backed up. I do love your rewards program. Definitely motivating us to come in more. One more thing—I love Patrick. I appreciate his momentary drop by to say hello.
Il Fornaio's is above and beyond outstanding customer service, and there is absolutely nothing to complain about. The service, the atmosphere, the selection on the menu, and the wines are phenomenal. Thank you for making each visit memorable. This is why I always request to return over and over
We tried their monthly prefixe 3 course tasting menu. What a value and every course was delicious. All four of us ordered something different from the others so we all had bites of each others dishes. Total home run on all counts.
It is amazing that a restaurant that big can serve so many people so effectively. We were there right after a play so there was a crowd from that and then the event at the Center finished and there was a glut of people then too. So the tables got filled pretty rapidly but the staff kept pace and the food was delivered promptly. Great time!
Normally I would give this Restaurant high marks as I have been there many times ; however, this time was a disappointment. 2 and half hours to get dinner, and it wasn't because we were casual dinners nor the fact that Disney on Ice was at Golden 1, just lack of attention. The food when served was cold.
Il Fornaio is a "go to" staple for me. I make reservations for special occasions, business meetings and for date nights. However, I was extremely disappointed with our last dining experience. My husband and I were hosting a party of 6 and were celebrating the success of a business project. The service - though nice - was extremely slow. Overall the restaurant was understaffed. It took us 3.5 hours to get through the meal with 25 minute breaks in between the courses. In addition to the understaffed wait staff, the chefs must have been "3rd string." Too much butter, luke warm food and just not the quality I have come to expect of Il Fornaio. I would definitely think twice before going back again - especially taking guests.
Love the space with high ceilings and patio. Waitress was not only an amazing server wanting to please but an opera singer as well! We heard her throughout the restaurant singing Happy Birthday or Ave Marie in the most angelic voice! What a treat! Tasting menu and pasta were wonderful.
Went to Il Fornaio last Saturday for our Anniversary. We arrived way earlier than our reservation, but they had no problem seating us. We were treated like royalty by Said...he was a fantastic waiter (?), assisted by a host of other workers. It was quite interesting to watch how all the staff worked together as a team. We ate from the very well-priced 3-course Tasting Menu. The food was delicious! We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant!
I made reservations for 11 people. Great large private patio. So nice and clean watched autumn leaves fall, gorgeous view with great friends and great accommodating services only by Il Fornaio. Love dessert, main dishes and appetizers. Perfect place. Thank you.
Packed restaurant as most everyone was heading to Golden One for a show after dinner. Great place for grabbing a fast but good meal for just such an occasion. Francesco provided such good service. We got in, ate well, and out in plenty of time without ever feeling rushed. He personified what excellent service is.
I've only been here twice and this past weekend for my hubby's birthday. I figured we'd try something a little fancy and that it definitely was. Our waiter was great. he was very attaintive and kept up with us. he dimmed the light for us and set the music to a decent volume to make sure the mood was right. he also had another waitress come by to serenade happy birthday "opera style" for my husband . great for birthdays, anniversaries, and dates. just make sure you don't forget your wallet for this place =)
The patio is not a great place for evening dinner, very shabby, and surrounded by tables with children and infants. Indoors is much nicer. Food was good, nothing special. Service messed up the order, and my food came out later than everyone’s , by quite a bit. Just an apology, no free dessert or drink.
Expensive for pasta, salads, wine and one dessert. Sac has many, many restaurants that offer so much more.
