Il Fornaio - Sacramento Ratings and Reviews
I love this restaurant and the building itself. This time the party of 4 each tried different dishes....one person ordered the ravioli, one the veal, one the short ribs and one the spaghetti and meat balls. We sampled each other choices and loved them all! This time of year the Wells Fargo lobby is gorgeous with its huge Christmas trees creatively decorated. A perfect setting for a holiday photo op.
Our group of friends had our holiday dinner at the restaurant. We were fortunate to get a room with plenty of space, including extra tables for gifts. The service was excellent and they took good care of us. Thank you for a wonderful time! We will come back!
We traditionally eat at Il Fornaio on Christmas Eve, but family won't be together this year so we came early. The three course option was a great value. One person in our party selected and enjoyed it. Another had perfectly prepared and tender Veal Scallopini, I had the half roasted chicken. Meats, vegetables, potatoes, polenta, sauces all prepared perfectly, presented beautifully. Great wines for accompanied and delicious dessert options. Only downside was that it seemed noisier than usual... Highly recommend for the holidays.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Il Fornaio. The menu was extensive with an advertised traditional turkey dinner. Our dinner was very good with the exception of the gravy on the mashed potatoes. There was tomato sauce in the gravy which we did not like at all.
We are new to Sacramento, but we always enjoyed Il Fornaio in San Jose when we lived near there. For our first meal at Il fornaio in Sacramento, we were 6 family members for Thanksgiving dinner. We ordered a variety of meals from the holiday and everyday menus, and they were all excellent and generous portions. Service was outstanding.
Beautiful restaurant full of light due to floor-to-ceiling windows. Conversation-friendly noise level (except the patron next to us sounded like he was mic'ed). Very good service, delicious food. A little spendy for what you get but not deal-breakingly. Beautiful Wells Fargo lobby adjacent. The major drawback is the terrible parking structure available. Minuscule slots for cars after driving forever to find spaces not marked Reserved. And $1.75/20 minutes. Good thing Il Fornaio validates for 2 hours.
Although there were empty booths we were Seated at a horrific table that was like stuck into the end of the kitchen. Not setup and there were holes all over the chairs. They brought the pasta at the same time as the salad so no chance to eat properly. The food was good but overall a very poor dinner experience for me and my guests.
Wine was delicious, calamari was yummy. I was a little disappointed in the pizza, but I am willing to try again.
Also Fridays are so busy that I may change my night as while the server was very pleasant and attentive it seemed a bit slower than normal especially bring our wine. Maybe the bar was backed up. I do love your rewards program. Definitely motivating us to come in more. One more thing—I love Patrick. I appreciate his momentary drop by to say hello.
