Service was excellent. Pasta and sauces are good. Kind of a small menu, but some good choices.

Very nice classy Italian restaurant. The patio had good heat lamps so we weren't cold at all. Service was great, even with COVID precautions, and the short ribs were delicious. Limited selection of desserts (3 choices); the cannoli were fine.

A very minor note: I had mentioned in the reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, but the restaurant made no mention of it.

The food was good and came out hot but it was a little overpriced. Service was solid and the patio has an indoor feeling even though you’re outdoors..

We eat out a lot and this restaurant is the only one we go to that seems like you are eating at a REAL restaurant, not just in the parking lot. The service is impeccable The hostess is always so friendly, she remembers us each time and knows where we like to sit. The servers know us as well and they let us sit there and enjoy our time, instead of rushing us. The bread (so good!) and appetizers are delicious, as well as the main meals. We love coming to Il Fornaio!!

Overall our experience at Il Fornaio was pretty good. The only downside is that it took a really long time for us to receive our food. But I will say I have been to this location on various occasions and the service is usually fantastic. I attributed the delay to the "new normal" of Covid-19.

Food was just a step above olive garden but double the price.

The lighting was poor/could read the menu- heater was not available.

Best experience I’ve had at a restaurant in the longest time! The manager served our wine for us and was there for anything we could possibly need. Made my birthday extremely special!!! Also, the food is phenomenal!!!

Had a girls night here and had the best server ever - I wish i remembered his name. We had a beautiful outdoor table and plenty of room to have bottles of wine and have a lovely ladies night! The food was all amazing - we will definitely be back for another ladies night soon!!

The pizza is the best ever, we love thin crust so our was perfection! We paired it with a caesar salad which was delish!

Wonderful outdoor dining dinner at Il Fornaio. I had booked with Open Table and yelp to receive my free calamari app. I mean why not. The manager was very gracious and even tho I couldn’t get my promo code brought it out for us soon after we arrived. Salads pastas were great. Only didn’t care for the chicken in the cream sauce pasta. Dessert was amazing along with delicious cappuccino. Thanks for your hospitality.

Tables were spaced very well, servers wore face masks and shields. It was very nice to visit with the exceptional servers after not eating out for 6 months. It was a delightful evening out!

they are doing a good job of setting up outdoors but it looks a bit bleak with no candles on the tables.

Based on my past experience with this place I have to say this time around was poor. Service was attentive , but menu is very limited and some of food we ordered was quite blend. Ok Covid has create some changes but it felt more like a high school dance hall with balloons and doll looking tables. Overall will pass till they back to normal.

Food was predictable, service was fairly normal for Servers wearing face masks and face shields. It’s not very personable or warm anywhere. Where this location really shines is their large built in patio. No eating in a converted parking lot or the side of a street. Tables were approximately spread out and the noise level was very pleasant for our table of five.

Excellent service, food was tasty and well prepared. Especially enjoyed the freshly baked ciabatta bread, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Ordered steak medium rare. It was so thin it came to the table medium well.

Il Fornaio Manhattan Beach never disappoints. The service and food are consistent regardless of whether you visit them on a busy Saturday night, or a calm Tuesday night. And because the patios are their regular patios and not makeshift patios, it almost felt like a normal night out unlike at other restaurants that have hastily set-up tables in parking lots in order to be able to open in the midst of the pandemic. The patio tables are spaced out more than six feet, and the staff took all of the necessary precautions.
