Il Fornaio - Irvine

Had my heart set on lasagna; however, the restaurant was closed when we arrived due to Warden Newsome’s Chinese Coronavirus lockdown order. So we ordered from the limited takeout menu and took the food home - The ragout meat sauce was spot on. The minestrone soup & bread were excellent compliment. Will do again. The limited staff work very hard & were great! Thank you!

It was another wonderful dinner on the patio! We will miss them during the shutdown and look forward to take out until they can reopen.....

Husbands birthday dinner was the best! We hadn’t been here in years, but after our return visit we will try to come more often. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday night, but it did not take away from the excellent service that Holland gave us. Our food was delicious!! My hubby enjoyed the surprise birthday song and sundae dessert from the servers. In all, our teens also had a good time too which made for a perfect family evening. Thank you to all who gave us a great experience.

Fabulous food !!

Our entire evening was amazing! We have for many years had our Christmas Eve dinner there. So sorry it will not happen this year. This was our celebration. Our waitress was AMAZING and the food excellent. Thank you for a wonderful evening and God Bless you.

This restaurant is indeed a hidden gem and we have been there 4 times in the last few months because we are comfortable that they are taking all the COVID precautions and it’s just a lovely place to be with delicious food and great service. We will head back again as soon as everything opens back up. Stay safe everyone and wear your 😷 mask!

Outside patio dining only now. But it was still great to be able to go out to dinner at one of our favorite spots. Wonderful service and food. So looking forward to experiencing the great energy that has always existed when dining indoors in their lovely restaurant setting. Marcello, the manager, does a terrific job!

The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Considering all dining needs to be outdoors right now, their patio has a perfect ambiance. The heaters were plentiful and the winkle lights added a sparkling touch. There was a wedding reception happening in the parking lot which was a bit loud, but it brought a festive spirit to our date night.

We eat at Il Fornaio often, but for Thanksgiving it was not good. Though we would enjoy a meal for 2 on Thanksgiving, and our reservation was at 6:00 pm. They had already run out of soup and cranberries. So I had the turkey dinner a la carte, and it was dry and tasteless, for $25 plus tax and tip. The pumpkin pie was a small serving that tasted like it was baked last week and served ice cold. A Costco pumpkin pie would have been 10 x better. We will go back for the regular food but never again on Thanksgiving

Lovely restaurant! We sat in the middle section of the restaurant with the retracted roof. The space heaters made it very comfortable for a November evening. Tables were spaced far apart. Food was delicious and a good value. A great dining experience.

Sorry you missed your chance for Il Fornaio’s Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. As for us, we’re ready to make our reservations now for 2021 if that is possible.

Because of Covid restrictions outdoor patio is the only option. Plenty of heaters! Service great as usual.

Needed a nice evening out with the family and this place hit the spot. Our server was attentive & friendly, without being too overbearing. Love that! Everything we ate was delicious and fresh. I would highly recommend this for a nice date night or when you want to upgrade your dining out experience without being over the to fancy.

It was my first time and as we walked in we were greeted and welcomed. The server was very attentive to our needs throughout the dinner. Food was amazing very tasteful and portions was great as well.

Excellent experience, my favorite Italian restaurant, great service, superb food

Our dining experience was terrific. We felt safe in the enclosed outdoor environment and thoroughly enjoyed a conversation at a table for 5 guests. The pasta, seafood, bread were great, as always. Ulysses' service was prompt and professional as he took care of our guests and spoke clearly through his mask, which is still mandatory and appreciated in most dining establishments. We will return!
