Terrific for lunch. Took my mom who is on a walker and she loved getting out. They were very accommodating to my mother. The food was great
The food and service could not have been better. I feel like the prices were a little high and was surprised by the cost. Most places a salad as a meal cost the same amount as the dinner salad we ordered for lunch. The cost will likely keep me from going back unless it is a very special occasion.
Was seated in a round table right next to the doorway to a private dining room. Everytime someone would go in or out of the room the door would slam and bounce right behind me. Food was just ok and the server was nice but we were a table of 2 and seemed constantly overlooked. They seemed short staffed for servers on a Friday night which was surprising.
Great location, friendly hostess and the best waiter ever - lunch was delicious and it is a spacious restaurant-so, very comfortable-
Will definitely return!
When we arrived, the manager was very off-putting and verging on rudeness, saying that they would be with us shortly... rudeness not in the words that were spoken, but the WAY in which they were spoken and the attitude behind them. Our server was called away from our table to speak to the manager, while she was in the process of taking our order. I would think that the manager would be able to wait until our order was taken, in the interest of customer service.
Our waitress herself was not good- we were originally not quite ready to order, and it took her forever to return. When she did return, we planned to have an appetizer that was listed as “shareable” - but she insisted that it would not be enough for the four of us, and suggested ordering two of them (at $20 each)...so we did not order an appetizer. Not friendly, very matter-of-fact, very brusque. Acted as if she was doing us a favor by stopping by our table to take our order.
The food itself was good, so it was a shame that the rest of the experience was so disappointing. Not sure we will return or recommend to anyone.
Loved it! Ambience and service was great! Food is amazing
Great place for client lunch. Awesome options for light fare or full meal.
Our hostess was great! It is a perfect place for celebrations!
Great lunch spot in DTC. We had excellent service and sat outside on the cute patio. I would recommend you get the dressing on the side for any salads. My Caesar had about 3x the dressing it should have.
Il Fornaio always has an excellent reputation for fine Italian dining. Their ability to serve meals based on various Italian regions provides us with a good "taste" of Italy. Very authentic in our opinion. The service and ambiance is always exceptionally excellent.
The food, wine and service was great! Enjoyed the evening very much!
Our waitress was not good- food so so and cold and no apologies. I could go on but it may be she had s bad night or something hard going on her life. We tipped her 20% wondering if that were the case.
Great food, wine, atmosphere
Hi, we are long time customers of the Resturant, since it opened, and prior to that we went to the
location downtown, Loved it" ! Well times have changed our last reservation, as always our Anniversary was not pleasant. we found the service average at best. the booth seating was tired and not comfortable. Our server was not timely and he was trying but .. maybe new...
The food was average at best, we did order a bottle of wine, the highlight of the meal. We do know a few of the servers and we did get a long-time server, but that wold not have compensated for the overall experience.
We do hope someone can turn the experience around.
Service, food, and overall dining experience was nothing special. Portions for the price was highly overrated. Other Italian restaurants in Denver that are much better and not so pricey. Will not be returning.
We both had the cod special, which was delicious and perfectly cooked (not overdone).
Caprese Salad - no balsamic...pretty tasteless. I ordered their angel hair pasta with olive oil and garlic, sure it was a special order, but I was told they could do it - no problem. It came out dry, virtually no olive oil and again, tasteless. So not much of a meal. Service was great - we had a pleasant, energetic waitress - food prep wasn't her fault.
2nd visit, just as good as the first. Love this place!
Very private esp on the patio
We had a business dinner and everything went well.
Even thought this is a chain, the chef and manager make it seem like a local cafe in Italy. The ingredients and pasta were excellent.
The food is always amazing here. The service was exceptional! Neyla made us feel like we were her only table. This made an already special night even better!
The food was less than mediocre and expensive. The receptions was very friendly. The restaurant is dated and was less than half full on a Friday night. It pains me to not be able to give a better review.
Service was totally awesome. Food out of this world!?
Great food and service. Quickly becoming one of our favs
It was extremely loud since they sat us next to the kitchen. The server was nice however, the manager at the end of the night was very rude when we finished telling us we only had 5 minutes til he would kick us out. The food in general is a bit over priced as well are most of the wines.
Excellent menu, nice selection of wines from Europe to California- well trained, efficient and fun staff.
I’m always impressed with food and service. We had a tiny miscommunication when ordering and the staff made everything right and more. Can’t say enough about the freshness and authenticity of recipes. And on top of it you are treated the way you think you should be.
I recently moved to an office across the street and have have entertained clients for lunch twice in the past two weeks. Both times the food was awful. Dry, flavorless, blah and expensive. Service is so so which is odd as the place never seems busy. I thought the first time was a fluke but the second time was just as bad...maybe worse. Will not go back nor will I recommend to anyone. Shocked the doors are still open.
Pretty disappointed in this experience given it cost us 200$ for two adults and a child meal. The veal was chewy, the polenta hard and dry, the service was non existent- although our server was super nice. For that price I expect at least perfect food. And seriously, $6 for one small scoop of vanilla ice cream???? Come on... :-/
The food was good and our server was fantastic, however, the prices are ridiculous!! A small salad with no meat or fish in it...fettecine alfredo and water should not cost $45 plus a tip.
We went for an anniversary dinner -- which was noted on the OpenTable reservation. My husband ordered lasagna -- they were out of lasagna at 5:30 pm on a Thursday evening. Okay, no problem, there are plenty of other choices. We move on. We ordered salads and a cup of soup. The server asked if we wanted the soup with the salads and we said we did. The salads came, but the soup never did. Then, our entrees arrived about 3 minutes after our salads. We were not even halfway through with our salads when our entrees were plunked down in front of us. In addition, there was never an offer of bread. We were told when the server came to pick up our entree plates that bread "is upon request." How were we to know? There were bread plates on the table when we sat down, which would indicate that bread would be served. Nothing was completely egregious, but for a dinner that cost over $100 for two, it was a poor value and experience. We don't plan on returning -- quite disappointed.
Excellent food in a pleasant environment. Always a favorite of mine.
Good, though I had to reiterate our wish for a quiet table, previously expressed in my reservation request.
This place rocks every time we go . Never even a thought of disappointment. Best in he DTC area of Denver
Great food and service. Would recommend it to my fruends.
Wonderful food, exceptional service, and incredible value all-around. Would definitely bring my family again.
NOTE: The CO locations do not honor the "bring your own bottle" deal advertised on their website. :)
Took my wife to Il Fornaio on our 5th wedding anniversary. My wife and I loved it, the food was wonderful. They acknowledged our anniversary when we first sat down. They gave us a delicious dessert afterwards, and multiple servers came over to wish us well on our anniversary.
We had a surprise baby shower celebration. I had told the manager about the event and he put us in the private room. The suggested dishes were great and the ambiance was wonderful!
