Il Fornaio - Corte Madera Ratings and Reviews
Actually, it was a little disappointing. We had a 10:30 reservation that they couldn’t find but no worries. Not too busy at that time. My friend, who is a local who has moved out of the area was really looking forward to a yummy pasta but they could not accommodate. My friend had coffee that was so weak that we needed to order an expresso shot to give it some flavor. I had poached eggs with a lobster sauce that had no flavor, whatsoever. It looked lovely but really, no flavor. There was a time a few years ago that the food had fallen flat and then the revamp came and the food was good again. Time for another revamp!
We went for one of their special regional menus. It was not their best effort to my tastebuds, but I've really enjoyed all of the other regional menu items I've tried, so I'll certainly go back again. The service is always good and the personnel warm and friendly without being obnoxiously so.
The food was quite good and the service was excellent - just the right balance of hovering/attention. I hadn't been to Il Fornaio in quite awhile and I was pleasantly surprised to see how well Il Foraniao had maintained its quality in a more updated setting.
Four of us went to try the Festa Regionale for Sicily. We tried the 3 course tasting menu accompanied by the Sicilian wine flight to match our selections. Our water was knowledgable & delivered each course & wine well. We were not rushed & enjoyed it thoroughly.
The Il Fornaio Canaloni was soooo delicious. The Teramasui (sp??) was so light & delightful. Service the Best. Could be romantic.. noise level is a little loud. Very busy make reservations. Dress is casual to dressy casual. I would highly recomend Il Fornaio. Not your typical Italian restruant faire.
We have been fans of Il Fornaio for years. We tend to eat at the ones in San Francisco and Burlingame he most because they are closer to our home. We ate at the one in Corta Madera last Sunday and the Lasagna was greasy and not good. The veal was pretty good
there were 4 of us and everyone had a great meal , mostly pasta dishes and calamari. the tiramisu was outstanding, great bread too. My husband lost his driver's license and they found it and held it for him the next day. Very reputable staff! Attentive service,
We visited Il Fornaio on a Thursday evening with 4 friends from the East Coast. I had requested a quiet table as it had seemed quite noisy the last few times we had been there. We had a lovely round table in the back, and the waitress who served us was delightful. She did not seem hurried or frantic, in fact the restaurant had a relaxed, laid back, but very efficient atmosphere. We were proud to show our friends one of our favorite neighborhood 'gems' and happy that they all enjoyed excellent food, well-prepared, and even a lavish desert!
We had reservations for a group of 5 and it got bumped up to 8 at the last minute. Il Fornaio was able to accommodate us with no problem on a Saturday night. This was very much appreciated! We had a great meal over the course of the evening. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance transported us to Italy. The service was attentive and friendly. The menu is quite large so there is something for everyone. I would definatley come back. I recommend this restaurant to others who are looking for a nice romantic place with reasonable prices and good food.
I actually love this place for some reason I cannot quite put my finger on. They do have very good service. They have Good food. I really enjoy the service and the food is consistently good. One drawback: this restaurant is always loud but is seems such a small consideration to me because I simply enjoy the place.
i have avoided going to this il fornaio due to the quality of service and food. since it seems to be quite busy on a regular basis, i decided to give it another chance in hopes that things had changed.
unfortunately, service and food was just as bad as ever starting from checking in, to parties being seated at different tables, to a patronizing waiter who did not respond to our requests, to the unpalatable food. the one redeeming quality was the bottle of wine that was recommended.
it is a shame that this one does not come close to the one in burlingame which is far superior in every way.
Corte Madera Il Fornaio ABSOLUTELY IS a VERY, VERY GOOD restaurant with VERY, VERY good food, service, atmosphere, and wine list and bar area. This restaurant DEFINATELY IS a "Let's go back AGAIN and AGAIN" type of restaurant. Also, ALL of their VERY GOOD food, service, atmosphere, etc. is CONSISTENT, every time a customer goes there for lunch of dinner.
