Grandpa’s 86 th birthday! Waiter was very accommodating and checked to make sure everything was okay.
Brought a slice of spumoni with a candle for the birthday boy!

Food and service good.

Lively atmosphere, our favorite place to celebrate Valentine's Day. They know true hospitality, and I was sad when the SF location closed. I used to frequent that location when working in the Financial District when I was a spring chicken. Glad there are still some locations around the Bay Area, especially Corte Madera in Marin, where there's plenty of parking in this shopping center. Pastas are deliciously made with love, extensive wine list with Stag's Leap wines, the tiramisu is decadent and on point. Can't go wrong with their tiramisu. Love, love, love ~ 'til next time, cheers & grazie!

Food was great. Service was deplorable and when we complained to the manager, the server came up and chastised us for interrupting him while he was waiting on someone else. Excuse me? Are we supposed to get service as well. He was rude and ruined the whole birthday celebration. The manager was fantastic and tried to make amends but too much damage had been done. I will never, ever dine there again.

It’s a great place for me when not too crowded and noisy. We went on a rainy evening so was not very busy. They have yummy gluten free pasta but no bread or pizza, which Would be nice.
They were very nice with good service too.
It’s a popular place for a good reason!

Il Fornaio was a decent restaurant for a shopping mall, but not that great. Service was a bit slow and the bread more than a bit stale. When our food finally came, my wife's was very hot, apparently having spent enough time under the warming lamps to dry out the chicken, My seafood combo was tasty, though tepid. The vegetables were so cold I thought maybe they were supposed to be. We went primarily because we had a gift card and probably won't go out of our way to return.

The restaurant is great but the app they use really needs some work. Never is correct and is a pain to correct.

Food was very good. Salmon with truffles was excellent. Risotto with sausage was creamy but salty. Lamb with roasted potatoes was the best very tender and tasty. Service was bad waiter took a long time to bring us initial drinks, then forgot the soup I ordered and brought it with my main meal, then we said we wanted dessert he gave us menus and then forgot to come back to get our order. It’s frustrating I know restaurants get busy but when I walk in I want to feel like I’m the most important guest to them.

Outstanding experience. That's been a reoccurring theme at this location. Consistently excellent food matched with wonderful service. It's our favorite local restaurant.

We came here for a birthday, but really it was just an excuse to dine at one of our faves. As usual, the food was very good, the service attentive, and the atmosphere lively. It’s a little pricier than many other Marin spots, but pretty much worth it. The margarita pizza wasn’t quite as crisp as I had recalled, but tasty nonetheless.

Overall an ok dinner but the minestrone soup was rather in the bland side, I asked if I could get a side of Brussel sprouts since there was an appetizer with pancetta on the menu with a calorie laden sauce - just plain steamed brussel sprouts - I was told no problem - they were fine but was charged $16.95 for 10 - no sauce or pancetta
I thought extremely over priced!

Il Fornaio is one of our favourite restaurants and we go there about once a week! They have a great selection of dishes and you can eat well without overdoing the calories if you are watching your weight! The calorie content of dishes on the menu is helpful. They are always willing to modify a dish when there is something you don't like in it! Great service and despite being in a shopping center, the ambiance is good.

Wonderful Italian food always delicious and so well prepared. Excellent Chianti wine by the glass and many choices of other varieties. Sat in the outer room with a lovely fire.Tasty beet salad with arugula and pasta with salmon in a lovely cream sauce. A memorable dinner always.

Pasta was dry and bolognese was mealy. Short ribs were ok, I’ve had much better. We declined drinks and just wanted water. The waitress kept pushing wine on us, 3 times. We no longer drink. How many times do we have to say no to alcohol? Once is enough! We were seated on the patio though it looked like several inside seats were available. I found it odd we weren’t asked if patio was ok. We did have reservations. Once our food was delivered, which was quite fast, we didn’t see our waitress again for a long time. The bread had olives and so did the bruschetta, not a fan. It’s been about 15 years since our last visit, not sure we will be returning any time soon.

This was our first time there for happy hour. The service was outstanding which is a huge compliment coming from the three of us, given we are all from the food industry.
Food was also excellent and a great value. The happy hour red and white got 2 thumbs up from all of us.
I’d highly recommend

We had not been to Il Fornaio for dinner for a long time, but decided to try it for our 51st wedding anniversary dinner. The hostess was very pleasant and seated us at a very nicely situated booth away from the noisy crowd. Alberto, our waiter, was helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. To top it off, they comped our dessert as it was our anniversary. All in all, it was a surprisingly delightful dinner out!

Another excellent experience. We love this restaurant and the wonderful people that work here. We really feel at home here. The food is always outstanding, just like their extremely well trained staff.

We also dearly appreciate their never ending willingness to modify a dish to make it vegan. For a restaurant that's so busy, they never complain and always come through for us. We can't thank you enough.

Lunch on Saturday -- great ambience on a rainy day. The menu is varied -- lots of good antipasti, salads and pastas. The Caesar salad was very nice but the pizza was just OK, and very expensive! Not the place to go for pizza I guess.

Always enjoy Il Fornaio. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent. My friend and I hadn't seen each other in a while and wanted to talk and not be rushed and our server was great about it. He didn't rush us and was very helpful with suggestions for drinks and dinner. We split a salad and then each had pasta. The pasta always is fresh and imaginative. I would recommend the salmon too as I have had it many times and it is always delicious.

Usually this is a place we look forward to, but not this time. It started with unpleasant treatment at the front desk regarding table selection. The sea bass was inedible seeming to be “off” and certainly long past fresh. The service was friendly but slow. Perhaps not enough staff for the night. A disappointment after numerous other good visits.

Been a patron of il Fornaio for years and always enjoy. Christmas Eve was crowed, of course, but staff handled it well. My steak w/ green peppercorns sauce was a bit tough and I didn't spot any green peppercorns. More like a balsamic sauce. And could do without the broccolini - stems are too tough...sauted spinach much better. Fabulous desserts.
