   Excellent caring waiter who let us sit and visit for a long time! Good food. Steak was good but had some gristle. Roasted vegetables were yummy! Thank you.

   Just had a fabulous Easter Sunday meal at Il Fornaio, Burlingame! The food was delicious! The service was perfection. The ambiance was lovely. We had the grilled lamb chops with potatoes and Mediterranean Sea Bass. The FRADIAVOLA pizza was terrific and the Tiramisu and Spumoni were yummy!!! The service was attentive, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was low key but joyful. I highly recommend Il Fornaio in Burlingame.

   Small or large groups this is a very good place to go. Very good service and great staff. We will continue to use this as our goto night out.

   Needs great improvement. Not what it used to be. Service was good but dishes were very average.

   This review is for the special Silver Oak 5 course wine dinner collaboration with Il Fornaio. The experience overall was good but I’m not sure we would attend if they were to have another similar event. The food was just okay…all the courses came out warm and most were average. We started out with a trio of appetizers (chicken skewers, fried shrimp and a salmon crostini)…nothing to write home about really. The next course was a crab cake that had a little too much filler and was a little heavy for my taste. Third up was a pasta dish with potato and cabbage. Wasn’t very asthetically appealing as it looked all one color and bland…tasted how it looked to be honest. For the main course, there was a choice between an osso bucco and sea bass. The osso bucco looked good but because it was merely lukewarm, it was just meh. The sea bass was probably the better of the two but a little too much butter in the sauce. The best thing of the meal was the pistachio tiramisu dessert. It really was the Silver Oak wine pairing that was the star and that’s what caught our eyes. Each glass was a generous pour but for the final price, it probably didn’t make up for it in the end.

    I go to this place frequently. This time the food was terrible. Salmon was so overcooked and extremely dry. My usual dish of squash ravioli changed recipe. Now I need to think twice about going back.
